The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Only John saw the slime that was previously on his palm before, suddenly floating in the air. 

The entire slime floated to the same level as John's head and soon, a strange long whip appeared on the slime's right hand. 

Then, a perverted smile appeared on the slime's face, which shouldn't be there at all. 

"Nyohohoho!" 

While laughing like a vulgar villain, the slime suddenly swung its whip towards John's head! 

Pa! 

The hunter was stunned and was about to dodge, but found that the whip was just an illusory thing, the system special effects. 

But the whip still hit his head with a "loud noise". 

Then, the slime put its left hand on its waist, still floating in the air, but the whip repeatedly hit John's head. 

"Chi! Chi! Chi!" 

Bow down to your master! 

John didn't understand what the slime was saying, but a strange system notification suddenly sounded in his mind. 

DING! [The beast-taming contract is successful.] 

[Dear John, please greet your new master and discuss things peacefully!] 

The system's voice was a lot more lively than the usual cold machine voice, so much so that John had a strange feeling that the system was teasing him. 

The white halo around Neo's body slowly disappeared, but a similar notification as what John received sounded in his mind. 

DING! [Contract binding is successful!] 

[Congratulations for taming your first beast! Keep up the good work, beast tamer!] 

Then, in his [Beast Tamer Library], John's photo successfully filled one slot. 

The system also opened the beast tamer's contracted space, a special space to store their beasts safely. 

Neo's face lit up at such changes. 

He really did it! He tamed his first "beast"! 

Neo recalled the description of his [Beast Taming] skill and found that he could start speaking straight to John's head, and the man would understand what he was saying. 

Before John snapped out of his shock, Neo seized the opportunity and immediately jumped back to the man's head. 

Then, he arrogantly slapped the man's head with his tiny hand, not forgetting to talk to the guy through the special telepathy. 

[Hello, hooman! Nice to meet you! My name is Neo, and I'm your new master!] 

Neo excitedly told John his name, and he immediately blabbered things from A to Z. 

[Are you shocked? Are you confused? I'm so sorry to inform you, but you're now my tamed beast, so you have to obey me and never betray me! Okay?]

Neo patted John's head for the n-th time, as if to console the poor guy, and then, he started to pat his own chest, trying to look as reliable as possible. 

[Don't worry, I'm a good master. I will never abuse my tamed beast.] 

John listened to the milky voice in his head that didn't sound like a boy or a girl, just gender neutral. 

The milky voice kept talking with a somewhat smug tone, so much so that John couldn't take what the voice said seriously. 

But the system panel that suddenly appeared in front of his eyes shattered his last line of defense. 

Right next to his name, there was a newly-bound status. 

Name: John Bertrand [Slime Neo's contracted beast]  

....contracted beast? 

He's a human, not a beast. 

And what's with that slime Neo? 

Who is this? 

John subconsciously refused to believe what the milky voice said to him, but Neo saw through his evasive attitude and immediately crushed his fantasy. 

[Wake up, hooman! I'm slime Neo, your new master! Yes, I am the palm-sized slime on your head, and yes, I'm a beast tamer!] 

Neo spoke a lot in one breath and tried to talk with a breathless voice. 

[You are now officially my tamed beast! Accept it!] 

Neo's last sentence struck John like a bolt of thunder. 

T-the slime...the slime could actually talk straight to his head. 

And...and...it said it is his master? 

No matter how absurd it was, after repeatedly checking his system panel, John had to swallow the bitter truth that he inexplicably became a slime's tamed beast! 

Yes, he's the so-called "tamed beast"! 

John quietly collapsed on the spot and even had an urge to stab the slime on his head to death, but his body refused to move. 

The contract strictly prohibited the tamed beast from injuring their master. 

John's eyes went blank as he tried to calm down and communicate with a slime that suddenly became his master. 

[That— how did you become a beast tamer? Aren't you a beast? How could you become a beast tamer?] 

John spoke slowly at first, but soon, he bombarded Neo with countless questions. 

[Why me? Why choose me as your target? Is it because I'm too kind to you??] 

John regretted not killing the damn slime earlier. 

It was all because of his passive skill [Heart of Protector] that he easily became soft-hearted in front of children! 

Neo listened to John's panicked questions and slowly crawled down from the man's head to his shoulder. 

The big guy flinched, but he quickly looked at Neo "in the eyes". 

Strangely, Neo shouldn't have a face, but once John made a contract with Neo, he could see the slime's round eyes and pouty mouth. 

Damn. The slime really had a face! 

And how could a slime be so smart to actually chat with him as if it was nothing?? 

John was close to going crazy on the spot, but Neo calmly patted the man's neck and soothed his first tamed beast. 

[Calm down, calm down. I'm just a unique and smart slime because I'm a mutated slime!] 

Neo threw all the blame to the "mutated slime", and he didn't forget to bring up the issue with the knife buffet. 

[I ate four hooman's daggers, so I level up. I became smarter, and that's how I can talk to you.] 

Neo grinned with confidence and started to answer John's question about being a beast tamer. 

[As for me awakening as a beast tamer...maybe it is because I'm a mutated slime? I don't know.]
