The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Chapter 4: “Second Death”

Neo's eyes brightened when he saw the [Beast Taming] skill's description.

With this skill, he could tame human beings to help him do many things he couldn't do as a slime!

He just had to wait for a human being to pass by or something.

Just when Neo was thinking about human beings, he heard some noises not far from his current place.

Neo quickly perked his ears towards the source of the noise and instantly captured some intermittent voices.

"Everyone— be careful— "

"Use the special flashlight...two...people...one..."

"John, you...front..."

"Slime dungeon...middle section..."

Neo couldn't understand those choppy words, but his eyes instantly brightened.

Those voices, both men and women— they were human beings!

The human beings he was waiting for!

Neo didn't know why a human being would want to come to such a strange place full of slime monsters— or slime beasts.

But it was definitely the right timing to test these human beings!

He was an F-rank beast.

Are these human ordinary people, or some kind of superpower people with some ranks like him?

But before Neo could make a move, the human named John at the front suddenly shone the special flashlight in his direction.

There were no other slimes around because they were scared away by Neo's special effects, making him stand out in the empty cave.

And it was just a strange golden slime on top of that.

Without saying a word, John, the human being with a towering figure, suddenly rushed to Neo, who was crawling on the cave wall!

The man was so fast that Neo only saw the shaky and blinding light before the wind blew over his body.

SLASH!

A cold knife fell down, like a mountain pressing down on the newly-minted slime from another world.

Neo's heart stopped beating for a second, and he instantly thought that the God of death was waving at him from a distance.

He's going to die!

Help— he had just avoided death minutes ago!

Aaaaa—

However, thankfully, the instinct of this body instantly kicked in.

Neo didn't know why, but at this time, he suddenly felt like spraying the human being who attacked him.

Spray him! Spray him to death!

The moment Neo had this thought, the system's voice suddenly sounded in his mind.

DING! [Acid Spray] skill is activated.

A blue panel the size of a palm popped out right in front of Neo, and two words in square brackets instantly caught his eyes.

[Acid Spray]

[Skill level: C]

DING! [Scanning the slime liquid's stock•••]

[Deducting stock •••]

[Deducted successfully.]

DING! [Initiating special effect •••]

In an instant, white light suddenly enveloped Neo's whole body, so bright that even Neo almost went blind for the second time.

If this continued, he would have to ask for sunglasses from the system!

In the dark cave with only occasional lights from the human beings' flashlights, the sudden bright light was too abrupt.

John, the man who attacked Neo,  subconsciously stopped his attack right an inch from the slime skin and took a few steps back.

The other five people behind suddenly sucked in the cold air while pointing their fingers tremblingly at the white light in front of John.

"W-what is that??"

They saw a slime shining like a light bulb.

A golden slime to be precise.

And the slime slowly changed.

Wrigle. Wrigle.

The slime suddenly grew bigger, expanding like a balloon!

Then, on that smooth jelly surface, a small pouty mouth appeared.

The anime-style pouty mouth sucked in the air hard, turning the originally golden jelly ball red.

The next moment, the whole "balloon" spurt out a jet of golden acid liquid, aiming straight at the first hunter!

PUFF!

Once the corrosive liquid was shot out, the whole "balloon" shrunk rapidly, turning back into the size of a palm.

Neo saw all of this special effect with wide eyes— even if he shouldn't have eyes.

The golden acid liquid didn't look threatening, even beautiful, but some droplets touched the rocky ground, and it made a sizzling noise.

The rock on the ground slowly melted and turned charred black.

The slime's liquid was indeed corrosive!

Neo was full of expectations.

What if the slime cub's acid spray was not that bad compared to an adult slime?

But soon, Neo's expectation was dashed.

He thought that even as a cub, the slime's liquid was so awesome, but when he saw the range of his attack...

The slime twitched his non-existent lips.

What did he see?

Where's the promised "spray"? Was that skill just now even a spray?!

Not to mention Neo's disbelief.

Even the hunters, who were guarding against the slime warily, dramatically dodging here and there, stopped at their tracks and twitched their lips violently.

This— this—

How come the acid liquid only sprays for a few centimeters away from the little slime?

The skill special effect made the slime look as big as a regular slime when it shot out the acid liquid.

But in reality....the slime was still the same small slime, and the range of the attack....

It was pitifully short.

Only a few centimeters.

That attack just now only destroyed a pebble on the ground.

No more, no less.

The hunters were all staring at the "badly destroyed pebble" with an awkward gaze, not to mention the culprit who thought he was so cool when using the skill.

Neo wanted bang his head to the rocky wall and commit suicide.

If the slime could change color without a special effect, his whole body would have turned bright red.

Let him die!!

Even the hunters had a second-hand embarrassment, getting goosebumps on behalf of the little slime that they actually forgot to continue attacking the slime.

The slime on the ground "melted" and soon, it stopped moving.

Let's just pretend to be dead.

He doesn't have the face to see anyone anymore.

Seeing the slime "melting", the man who attacked the slime slowly walked closer to the palm-sized slime and squatted.

He cautiously poked the strange golden slime with his dagger, but the slime immediately wriggled around.

Move, hooman! He wanted to escape!
