Chapter 4: A Great Humiliation
Zhao Xuan's expression changed dramatically as he looked at Garfield, now seeing the creature in an entirely new light.
The Blue-Eyed Wind Wolf, having just crashed to the ground, lay there, completely drained. If Garfield hadn't held back, it might have been dead already.
Zhao Xuan's heart twisted painfully as he watched the wolf frothing at the mouth.
The Blue-Eyed Wind Wolf had given it its all...
"Kent, you're dead!" Zhao Xuan ground his teeth, gently stroking the wolf's head with a stern look.
"You brought this on yourself, don't blame me. You wanted to challenge me, so now we'll fight."
Kent shrugged indifferently, even though it wasn't wise to provoke Zhao Xuan, Garfield had already acted.
Suddenly, Zhao Xuan grinned. "Do you know what happens when you provoke me?"
Kent's gaze sharpened—this guy wasn't someone to take lightly.
Zhao Xuan bit down and whispered something to a nearby, dull-looking youth, then proudly took a spatial bag from him, revealing it with a sneer.
In his mind, he was already gloating. Let's see how you die.
Boom!
A loud crashing sound shook the entire training field.
When Kent saw what caused it, even his calm demeanor faltered, and he couldn't help but gasp.
About a hundred meters ahead, a massive creature covered in blue scales, resembling a giant frog, crouched there.
It was a true behemoth—nearly as tall as a two-story building, a statue-like figure that dwarfed even the Fire Tigers. It made the surrounding humans seem like insects in comparison.
Its eyeballs alone were as large as basins, and its tongue, like a giant python, slithered in the air with menacing grace.
Kent had no doubt that, if he had to face it, he'd be swallowed whole without a second thought.
Before he could fully process the situation, a head emerged from the back of the giant frog...
It was Zhao Xuan.
The crowd was in an uproar, shocked that Zhao Xuan, unable to accept defeat, had gone and borrowed a giant Silver 10-Level Frogman to continue the fight.
It was clear that Zhao Xuan wasn't satisfied with his previous loss and intended to win at any cost.
With a smug grin, Zhao Xuan declared, "See? This frog will be enough to finish you off."
Kent's face shifted several times. He hadn't expected Zhao Xuan to be so vengeful. It seemed that this fight was unavoidable now.
He stepped forward and addressed the crowd. "Since we're going to fight, I'll make one thing clear—if I win, Zhao Xuan will never bother me again."
Some people, amused, whispered, "This ignorant fool, does he really think he can take down Zhao Xuan? He's definitely asking for trouble."
Others, however, didn't think Zhao Xuan and Kent were in the same league. To them, Kent was a loser, but Zhao Xuan was the rich, handsome, and capable guy.
Rich vs poor—who's going to win?
Despite that, everyone wanted to know why Kent seemed so confident.
If Kent wasn't sure of his victory, he wouldn't have put himself in the spotlight like this, calling for witnesses. It was clear he had some kind of confidence—or at least that's what it looked like.
A beastmaster in the corner observed Kent and quickly realized something.
Zhao Xuan's face darkened. "Fine, but this time, I'll cripple you. After that, I won't waste any more time with a useless thing like you."
Kent's gaze turned icy.
Still, he remained calm, standing tall among the crowd, and coldly said, "Everyone here heard Zhao Xuan's promise. If he fails to keep it, what should we do?"
The crowd exploded in astonishment. What kind of audacity did Kent have to challenge Zhao Xuan so directly?
Zhao Xuan's face twisted into an ugly expression as he reluctantly called out, "If I lose to Kent this time, I will never cause him trouble again. And if I do, everyone here can call me 'son' and I won't dare to fight back or retort."
The crowd gasped at the intensity of Zhao Xuan's oath.
But at that moment, Zhao Xuan's face became terrifyingly dark. His eyes were filled with venom, and he was fuming with anger. Being humiliated in front of so many people was too much for his pride to take.
Seeing that expression, Kent narrowed his eyes. This guy clearly didn't want to lose face. If he really hated Kent, he should have just attacked, but instead, he was dragging things out.
Could it be that he's afraid of losing face in front of everyone?
A faint, mocking smile appeared on Kent's lips.
"It's settled, then. Let's stop talking and get on with it."
The crowd murmured again, intrigued. A Silver 10-Level Frogman wasn't something anyone could easily contend with. Yet Kent stood there, seemingly unafraid.
Does he really have a plan?
The Frogman, noticing Kent, puffed out a gust of air, shaking Kent's clothes as though they might be blown off at any moment.
"Haha." Zhao Xuan sneered, his voice filled with mockery. "I thought you were stronger. But it looks like feeding your Blue-Eyed Wind Wolf too much has made it fat and lazy. It got taken down by a little cat."
Everyone nodded, agreeing with Zhao Xuan's explanation.
"Yeah, the Blue-Eyed Wind Wolf didn't get enough exercise after being overfed with nutrients. So, it was taken down by a little cat that didn't seem that powerful. It makes sense."
If it weren't for the system's intervention, Kent might have believed that explanation.
As the crowd started to think that Kent had simply gotten lucky, their faces showed amusement, eagerly anticipating Zhao Xuan beating Kent into submission.
Zhao Xuan, seeing the pity in their eyes, couldn't help but feel glee. Standing tall on the Frogman's back, he boasted, "Don't say I'm bullying you. I'll even let you have three moves."
Kent wasn't angry. Seeing the entire crowd rooting for Zhao Xuan, he gave a cold smile and turned to Garfield. "Garfield, go ahead and show him what you've got."
"Meow." Garfield nodded, transforming into a blur and heading straight for the Frogman.
Smack!
A massive body suddenly slammed to the ground, greenish fluid spraying into the air and covering the area.
Before Zhao Xuan could even comprehend what had happened, he was crushed beneath the Frogman's back, stunned.
