The calm

Chapter 8: chapter 6

Crya's pov

I raised my hands, and with a heavy and bleeding heart, and all the courage in this world, I shouted, "I object."

Murmurings filled the ballroom as everyone turned to look at me "I said, I object" standing tall like a beautiful goddess.

"Why if I may ask?" Alpha Gideon asked, looking at me as if he could kill me with just his eyes.

"You're just an omega. What could you possibly be objecting to?" A pack member said

"Sit your ass down, if you don't want to be beaten."

"Who do you think you are?"

"What gave you the right to speak?"

"You being in here is the alpha's kindness, and you're opposing to that."

"Who gives a sh*t about your objections?"

These are the few words I could hear as I was being scolded by my fellow pack members. And I very well know that if it weren't on the occasion we're in the right that I'd hear way worse, but who gives a sh*t about their opinion is here to get my rejection and that's final.

I sighed while waiting for the Alpha to say something. When I didn't get a response, I decided to help them untangle their tongues for them "Cat got your tongue, Jordan you're not going to say anything?" I smirked while looking him dead in the eye.

"What do you want, Crya?" He asked

"My rejection, of course. What were you thinking?"

I said with a smug expression. His shoulders tensed a bit at the mention of rejection and I could already see a speck of red in his eyes indicating that his wolf would like to have a say in what I just said.

Somehow, he calmed himself before speaking, "I don't know what you _" "wait what do you mean by your rejection" Alpha Gideon said, cutting Jordan off.

"Exactly what it means Alpha Gideon, Jordan here is my mate. Meaning, I am his true mate, not Tiffany, and since he has chosen another over me, I have no problem with that, all I want now is a rejection."

"Jordan, is this true?" Alpha Gideon asked.

"Yes" he said, bowing his head, probably from shame, but I know him too well to know he doesn't feel shame.

There was a moment of silence after that and for a moment I had a glimpse of hope that just maybe the Alpha would scold him until I heard "well get on with it". The wall of hope just now broke down and not just me, but everyone in the pack looked at him either puzzled or stunned. He then laughed and said "wait you don't think I'll stand by you, hmm?" Another round of laughter, this time around even the pack as well.

"Son, let go of this garbage. She is not worth keeping" he said once more.

I don't know what I was thinking to get my hopes up. Maybe because he's always against the pack maltreatment or abusing me. I turned to look at the Luna, and she was laughing. She has never abused me, but why is she laughing now at me?

"You're not fit to be his Luna". Luna Rose said

"Why?" I shouted.

Laughter once again from everybody "you're weak, an omega, a slut, a mistake and a disaster" Luna Rose specified

"Not to add the fact that you're the rag of the pack" the alpha said.

"The moon goddess must have been asleep when this pairing happened". A pack elder said

"My son, being a gentleman, still kept you around, and you're not grateful!" alpha Gideon shouted.

"Coming out here demanding a rejection, thinking I or maybe one of the pack will give you their support". Luna Rose laughed again with tears coming out of her eyes.

I felt a stink in my eyes, and a watery like substance at the corner of my eyes. At this very point I felt every emotions I felt anger, I felt sadness, I felt betrayal, I felt shame, but most of all, I felt hatred towards myself for thinking that they would acknowledge me, Towards my pack for expecting the unexpected, towards leaders for respecting and looking up to them, I cleaned the watery like substance from my eyes vowing in my heart that this would be the last time I shed a tear or tears for them.

I wanted to laugh, but I just couldn't, not because I can't but because I still need something from Jordan before I start acting Raven mad.

"As expected of you guys". I chuckled

"I'm not worthy of him, but why then isn't he rejecting me?" I mocked hurting Jordan's ego.

I looked Jordan dead in the eyes I said, "I dare you to reject me".

That's the only way I knew he could reject me, because no Alpha likes to be dared

"Watch your mouth runt". Jordan said, with anger written all over his face.

At this point in time, I don't really care what he feels. I just want my rejection.

This time around, I laughed and said to him "I know you can't. You're afraid of the pain the rejection brings, you feel it will tear you apart, you're afraid of not being strong enough after rejecting your mate, am I right, Jordan?"

"I was planning on making you bare strong pups, because that should be an honor given the fact that you're not fit to be my mate" he chuckled.

I wanted to keep you and give you the best life ever, but you chose to be stubborn and stupid."

"I don't want your sympathy, Jordan."

"Just get on with it. Your mindset makes me sick."

"Very well then, I Jordan Crescent, on this day, stand under the moon and formally reject you, Epiphany Cyra, as my mate, my Luna and my soulmate," he shouted the last part while looking at me.

I crouched with pain. Also, looking at him to make sure he feels the same pain I am feeling with the last little bit of strength I had I shouted.

"I Epiphany Cyra on this day stand under the moon to formally accept your rejection, Jordan Crescent as my mate, my Alpha, and soulmate!".

The pain right now is too much. I can't even stand properly. I had to hold the ground because no one would hold me while Tiffany held Jordan.

After what seemed like eternity, but in reality it was just 30 minutes. I finally gain composure and suppress the pain, being nice too. It's my wolf howling at the back of my head, turning around and left. Once I got outside, I suppressed the happiness I felt inside, so immediately I changed into my wolf and ran off.

A howl ripped through the quiet scene just as the sky began to darken. I can tell that howl very well. It's the howl of a wolf who lost his mate and, since it's not from me, then it's from Jordan.

Serves him right my wolf said at the back of my head .

With my last bit of strength, I pushed myself to run faster, my body beginning to go into overdrive. The sound of another wolf chasing me was the next thing I could hear. It frightened me and got me thinking about who could be chasing me. I've hidden my identity well, so who is it?

The breath was completely knocked out of my lungs as a jet black wolf slammed me into a tree roughly. The bark scratched at my back. I whimpered and attempted to raise my limp self up, only to fall back down. My vision was blurred, but I could make out the figure of the wolf and I could also tell it was a male wolf from its scent. The testosterone was nearly choking me. Just by the look of it, you could tell he was an Alpha. He was taller than most guys you then meet, and power seemed to come off of him in waves.

I blinked, dark spots starting to conquer my vision, and looked at the Alpha, who was now in human form, glaring down at me.

"Who are you?" he asked angrily. My energy drained, and I couldn't stay in wolf form anymore. I shivered as I became my human form and vaguely remember him commanding orders to others.

Not a second later, I was consumed in the darkness. But not before hearing my name being called out, I guess in shock or amazement.

" crya!"
