The CEO’s Hidden Bride

Chapter 39

Wearing an Engagement Ring (2)

After changing into this gown, she looked in the mirror. The color was tacky, but it suited her well.

It also made her skin look even more delicate.

“Mom, Grandma has good taste!”

“Of course. Your Grandma used to be the daughter of a rich family!” Lin Yu replied as she helped her daughter put on jewelry.

Liuli smiled as she nodded repeatedly.

He had heard of this a long time ago.

Her grandma used to be the daughter of a rich family, the kind that attended an aristocratic school.

Later on, she married her grandfather, who had once saved her life.

Actually, her grandfather was uncultured and boorish.

In layman’s terms,

a beautiful woman married an ugly husband

However, they had a very good relationship. One was in charge of external affairs, while the other was in charge of domestic affairs. Although they were poor, they were happy.

Later on, her grandma gave birth to her father.

However, her father took after her grandfather’s personality. He didn’t like to study, but he had business acumen.

Later on, her family’s standard of living skyrocketed.

Her father had also become a famous local tycoon and a nouveau riche!

But even so, her grandma insisted on continuing to make her own clothes, embroider, and read books.

Therefore, her grandma was the person she respected and admired the most.

Of course, Liuli’s mom was the person she was most afraid of.

After dressing up, Liuli followed her mom downstairs.

After breakfast, Uncle Tang and the others came.

Liuli’s parents were greeting them.

Liuli leaned against the dining room door as she peeked out.

Uncle Tang was wearing a three-piece suit today. He was handsome and tall, just like the first time she saw him.

At that time, she wondered how there could be such a sexy and handsome man in the world.

Just as Liuli was thinking about this, Uncle Tang suddenly turned around and met Liuli’s gaze.

Liuli blushed.

Then, she quickly hid.

She didn’t feel anything about it this morning.

Now that she saw Uncle Tang, she thought of their engagement banquet today.

Liuli felt a little awkward about it.

She walked towards the back of the dining room.

There was no way out.

Hence, she walked towards the kitchen.

If she jumped out of the window now, she would still be able to escape the marriage, right?!

Liuli stared out the window in the kitchen blankly.

“If you climb out the window, I might not be able to catch up with you, because I might not be able to climb out.”

Suddenly, Uncle Tang’s voice sounded behind her.

Liuli turned around, as if she had been electrocuted. Uncle Tang was standing behind her and looking at her with a smile.

A famous saying echoed in her mind… When she looked back, that person was still under the dim light.

“I… Why would I climb through the window?!” After Liuli turned around, she lowered her head and pouted.

“I was afraid that you would jump out of the window to escape the marriage!” Tang Moxi said half-jokingly.

Liuli looked up in panic and met Uncle Tang’s mirthful gaze.

She couldn’t help but laugh.

Liuli was already used to Uncle Tang seeing through her thoughts.

But she still lied through her teeth.

“Who said I wanted to escape the marriage?!”

“You didn’t say it, but it’s best not to do it! Everyone’s waiting for us. Let’s go out!” Tang Moxi extended his hand and replied.

“Of course I won’t do it either!” Liuli replied. Then, she reached out and held Uncle Tang’s hand.

Liuli couldn’t help but tighten her grip on Uncle Tang’s warm hand.

Tang Moxi turned to look at Liuli, who stuck out her tongue and smiled.

Tang Moxi held Liuli’s hand as they walked out of the dining room.

Everyone turned to look at them and smiled knowingly.

Tang Moxi was composed, but Liuli blushed in embarrassment and hid behind Tang Moxi.

In the morning, the Tang family came to send the betrothal gifts. The Yu family returned the favor, and there was an engagement party at night.

Because the engagement and wedding were very close, they only invited some important relatives and good friends for the engagement party.

When Tang Moxi put on Liuli’s engagement ring,

Liuli was so nervous that her ears turned red and she even held her breath.

She held her breath as she stared at Tang Moxi’s face.

Just as the cold ring was put on her middle finger, Liuli exclaimed.

Tang Moxi looked up at Liuli and she was so embarrassed that she wanted to find a hole to hide in.

“My hand cramped!” Liuli explained in embarrassment.

The corners of Tang Moxi’s lips curled up as he rubbed Liuli’s hand gently.

“Don’t be nervous. Marrying me isn’t such a scary thing!”

“I didn’t get cramps because of this!” Liuli argued.

“Then why did you get a cramp?” Tang Moxi asked as Liuli rubbed her hands.

“Brother Moxi, aren’t you nervous?” Liuli asked Tang Moxi.

“Why should I be nervous?” Tang Moxi looked up at Liuli.

“Oh!” Liuli suddenly didn’t know how to respond. Tang Moxi asked, “Are you nervous?”

“I’m a little nervous!” Liuli admitted.

“Don’t be nervous. Just keep smiling with me. Leave the rest to me,” Tang Moxi comforted.

“Brother Moxi, let me help you put on your ring!” Liuli nodded and said when she saw the ring at the side.

Tang Moxi pushed the jewelry box in front of Liuli.

Liuli took out the man’s ring from inside. With her other hand, she held Tang Moxi’s left hand and put the ring on gently.
