The Chosen One Was Me, Not You

chapter 16

16 – {Reunion with Duke and Duchess Artin} 3

{Reunion with Duke and Duchess Artin}

At Theodore’s words, the Duke and Duchess of Artin felt great embarrassment.

That question was actually a question that the couple, no, not only the couple, but also the imperial family of the Britannia Empire, as well as everyone from all walks of life.

‘Such an idiot is really the chosen one?’

‘Psychokinesis is an unusual ability, but maybe I was too impatient?’

‘Come to think of it, didn’t you check what abilities the other son, Theodore, had?’

If Theodore had remained in the Britannian Empire, he would have come to the spotlight of late.

But now, without Theodore, William may not be the Chosen One, but he must be the Chosen One.

The imperial family had to force this part out for the safety and diplomatic advantage of their own country, and even as Duke of Artin, unless Theodore returned, William had to be chosen.

If the chosen one was Theodore, it was because the Duke of Artin, who ignored him by not even giving him proper food and treating him as a member of his family, had to take responsibility now that he had disappeared.

The chosen one would be scolded by everyone for the crime that caused them to leave the Britannian Empire, and if that happened, the Duke of Artin’s prestige would go beyond a simple decline and could lead to a miserable downfall.

“Well…some doubt that, but I think William will come to his senses one day.”

As the Duke of Artin, he had no choice but to answer like this in the end.

In fact, in his heart, wasn’t Theodore the chosen one, not William? I had a lot of suspicion, but I couldn’t admit it.

No matter how much he looked like his son, William, his emotional side came to mind, and he even confessed about his secret wealth, which was only famous among noble families within the Britannian Empire, but this part was beyond the line that he could confide in.

“Is that so? I hope so. My disrespect for her fiancée… really upset me.”

Eliot smiled bitterly at Theodore’s anger at the disrespect he had inflicted on his fiancée.

It broke my heart to see him express his anger, as if he had offended the real Theodore.

It occurred to me that perhaps the reason he revealed the secrets of the family was because he wanted it to be his son, Theodore.

“It won’t be enough even if I apologize several times. Then we’ll leave. We’ll deliver an official apology to the Duke of Arsene sooner or later and give a reasonable compensation.”

“Honey! Where are you going! Theodore is… barely ahead!”

“Now, now, ma’am. Excuse me, Prince Skylord. Let’s go back.”

There could be another problem if we stayed here any longer, so Elliot forced Ceres to leave her seat.

* * *

The story about Theodore of the Duke of Artin was so shocking to Yuria.

She had heard that Theodore had been treated unfairly, and that he had run away.

However, she was not interested in rumors. Although she had heard that William, known as the Chosen One, was an idiot, she knew only a little while ago that the level of her experience was beyond her imagination.

She and she now, she knew how shocking was what had happened to the Duke of Artin.

‘Prince Theodore.’

Yuria was instinctively watching him.

“I don’t understand. Wasn’t it your biological son? He couldn’t have done anything wrong after he was two years old?”

The appearance of Theodore saying that to Prince Artin, Eliot was so calm and unconcerned as if he were talking to someone else.

Perhaps Elliot, too, looked at it like that and thought it was someone else’s story.

However, she had a better understanding of Theodore than others, and she felt that Theodore’s eyes were cold.

Cold, silent… However, it looked like calm sea water, but in reality, it felt like a huge wave was being prepared.

But she was the only one who noticed that fact.

“…I mean. What’s even more embarrassing is that we don’t seem to know exactly when our son disappeared. Because of this terrible sin we committed…my wife is doing this…please excuse me.”

“Okay.”

“…Thank you. You look so much like my son, William, that my wife probably sees you as Theodore. I apologize again.”

“Yes, Duke Artin. By the way, is Prince William really the chosen one? Seeing what he did to my fiancée today, I can’t help but think that such a person would be the one to save the world?”

The Duke and Duchess of Artin looked puzzled.

Yuria was also curious about Theodore’s words.

‘Is that kind of person really the chosen one?’

It was a question I had been thinking about for a while.

And the eldest son of the Duke of Artin named Theodore, who is said to have disappeared a long time ago, with a strikingly similar appearance to William, and the time when Theodore Skylord appeared there….

It fit the story so amazingly, but there was only one question.

In the same place as the Duke of Skyroad, the question was whether someone with no blood was designated as the heir to the family.

‘Maybe something unexpected will happen.’

Seeing Theodore’s cold eyes, YuRia had such an idea.

“Well…some doubt that, but I think William will come to his senses one day.”

“Is that so? I hope so. My disrespect for her fiancée… really upset me.”

There was genuine anger on Theodore’s face. However, his words honestly sounded absurd to Yuria.

‘Prince Theodore couldn’t have been mad at me.’

But that angry expression wasn’t completely false.

He was genuinely angry.

Then there was only one answer.

Now, Theodore just put forward the insult he had been given as a superficial reason to hide the reason for his anger.

“It won’t be enough even if I apologize several times. Then we’ll leave. We’ll deliver an official apology to the Duke of Arsene sooner or later and give a reasonable compensation.”

And Elliott apologized again and left with Duchess Artin, Ceres, who rebelled.

After the two left, the sight of Theodore staring coldly at the back of the two kept bothering YuRia.

‘Really, is Prince Theodore Theodore Artin?’

I had thoughts close to certainty, but I couldn’t be 100% certain.

I couldn’t even ask that question.

As I thought before, it would be a great disrespect for him to ask this just to satisfy his own curiosity.

So she decided to tell him what she had to say now.

“Prince Theodore.”

“Why is that?”

Theodore asked, hiding his expression of anger.

Perhaps it was because Dean Albert was by her side, she wanted to honestly stick her tongue out at his acting ability, which quickly took away her anger and changed her tone to a softer tone toward herself, but Yuria didn’t bother to point out that part either.

“Now it’s time to check each other’s accommodations.”

“Yes, it is.”

Originally, I should have confirmed it, but it was delayed due to the appearance of the Duke and Duchess of Artin.

“Prince Theodore would surely make enemies right here and cause an accident, right?”

Yuria said with a smile as if she had already figured it out.

It might sound a bit cheeky, but compared to what Theodore had done, this was medicine.

“Those who are jealous of the dazzle of the sun-like existence of the country will fight and attack first.”

Hearing Theodore’s unlucky tone again, Yuria sounded more comfortable than his cold, angry expression from before.

You can feel comfortable with his tone, which normally sounded annoyingly unlucky?

‘I must be crazy.’

She heard a little bit of self-help like that, but she said it without expressing her feelings.

“And I, her fiancée, may not get caught up in it either.”

“I’m sure it is. But I’ve agreed to keep it, so don’t worry about that. I keep my promise.”

“Yes, of course I believe it. I know very well that Prince Theodore is not a man who breaks promises.”

Dean Albert looked awkward as if he thought the current situation was an atmosphere of youthful love between a man and a woman, but he didn’t dare to make a sound to highlight his presence.

But Yuria was careful with her language because she cared about his presence, and she was speaking cautiously.

“But after experiencing something today, I think I need to become stronger in order to basically protect my body. So… I will continue to ask.”

“Well, okay. I’ll just look at the accommodation, organize it briefly, and teach you right away.”

When Dean Albert left and the two of us had a conversation, we would have a conversation without hiding it.

* * *

‘It’s not the time yet.’

Theodore hated and detested the Duke and Duchess of Artin.

But it wasn’t yet time for them to figure out who they were.

It was a pity to immediately break the current situation in which William was suffering alone.

And he planned to savor the moment slowly, expecting to see them realize the truth after dancing futilely like dolls dancing on stage.

There was no problem even if I proceeded with the script slowly and savoring it.

Because it hasn’t changed that the true chosen one is himself.

But there was just something that bothered me.

‘Princess Yuria’s gaze.’

For some reason, I was concerned about the gaze that was looking at me as if it were sympathizing with me.

It wasn’t the usual sympathetic gaze, but her gaze, which contained her complex emotions, seemed to have a lot to say with her.
