Chapter 141: Severance of The Seven Worlds
"Mavis!" shouted the Viceroy as he rushed towards the seemingly frozen dragoness.
Mavislin smiled faintly as she raised her arm to block the enormous sword, to the shock of everyone around her. Seizing the moment, Matt prepared to strike, but his attack faltered when the dragoness surged forward, pushing the blade aside with a deflecting arm.
In one swift motion, she hurled her katana toward Lunaris's face. The Commander tilted her head just enough to avoid the flying blade, but the distraction was enough. Mavislin lunged in, gripping the moonlit sword with both hands before Lunaris could react.
With all her strength and the unwavering trust of her rabbit companion, Mavislin flung both sword and wielder aside, sending Lunaris crashing violently into the wall.
Matt leaped into the air, expertly catching the blade before it could stab into the wall and hurling it back toward Mavislin's outstretched hand.
Lunaris cursed under her breath, struggling to regain her footing, her body trembling from the force of the impact. As she opened her eyes, she was met with the piercing gaze of the dragoness, now closing in with fierce determination.
There was barely a moment to react before the next strike was upon her.
"Severance of The Seven Worlds!" shouted the dragoness as her blade exploded in all the colors of the rainbow.
In an instant, Mavislin vanished from her position, reappearing directly in the Commander's line of sight.
With lightning speed, she unleashed seven rapid slashes, each one expertly deflected by Lunaris, but exploding upon contact with a brilliant burst of elemental energy. The violent clashes sent both combatants staggering back, giving them a brief moment to recover.
However, the strain of channeling so much power began to weigh heavily on Mavislin. Her movements slowed, and the cracks in her control started to show—more of Medusa's features began to surface, creeping into her form.
Lunaris sneered as she noticed the Eyes of the Shapeless Isle's Monster.
"You are only a mere dragoness... Yet, you have the capability to dish out two Primordial Spells. Your overall power as a Mage to do so would garner you as powerful as a Guardian. How controversial it is to have such a being with you?"
"Such a disgrace would you have been amongst your brethren."
Something inside Mavislin seemed to snap as she surged forward, a fierce determination igniting her intent to obliterate the being before her. Lunaris merely chuckled, her confidence unwavering.
In a sudden shift, both women discarded their weapons, opting for raw, unrefined power as they engaged in a brutal exchange of fists. Each blow landed with such force that it nearly sent Matt careening backward, the air crackling with the intensity of their confrontation.
However, it was Lunaris who would seize the momentary victory as she delivered a powerful punch to Mavislin's abdomen. The impact sent the dragoness hurtling backward, slamming into a stone column before sliding down its surface.
The silence that followed, coupled with the lack of movement from her, sent a wave of concern rippling through both males. Yet, they knew they had to subdue Lunaris quickly; lingering any longer could result in even greater harm.
Before the Commander could register her 'victory', both Mattheos and Zenos materialized at her flanks, blades poised to strike. In perfect synchronization, they prepared to plunge their weapons into Lunaris' flesh.
But before they could make contact, a deafening howl erupted from the moonlit figure. The sheer force of the sound sent a powerful shockwave through the air, throwing both men backward.
They slammed into the ground with a thud, disarmed and winded by the overwhelming power of her roar.
"I will make you pay for what you've done to me! My fallen brethren shall rise and writhe with my rancor! An extension of my wrath, I will bring you all down!" yelled Lunaris as her blade glowed brightly before she plunged it into the shallow pool.
The ground trembled as the 11 stone statues broke out from their slumber and made a beeline toward the trio, intent on making them emerge from the battle with wings and halos. The Viceroy gestured for the rabbit to stand back as he gathered more mana into his blade.
"You've got a plan?" questioned Matt, raising his eyebrow at Zenos.
With silence being his answer, the bunny sighed as he moved to have his back against the blonde's back.
"I have your six, so have faith in me. Or else I will pound it into your soul," answered the rabbit as he held his blade in an offensive stance.
The Viceroy merely smirked, raising his scythe high as the statues prepared to attack. Just as both he and Mavislin braced themselves to confront the incoming mob, a dazzling flash of color erupted around them.
"What?! How could you still move?!" thundered Lunaris.
