Chapter 15: Part 15. Kidnapping
Lucas walked away, leaving Haisley sleeping on the sofa outside. He walked to the beach and continued walking along the shoreline. His memory went back to a few years ago when he went to the beach with a girl who had dimples on both cheeks. Her smile was so sweet that he didn't care at all about the sunset ahead. He had gone to this beach to see the sunset, but his focus was now on the woman beside him who was smiling at the setting sun.
"Beautiful," the woman said.
"Yes, beautiful. Always beautiful," Lucas said, smiling at her.
The woman turned to Lucas, and she smiled even more because Lucas was looking at her with a smile. Lucas snapped out of his reverie when he heard a loud gunshot. Lucas immediately turned around and looked towards the source of the sound. His men were running towards the house where Haisley was.
Lucas immediately ran towards the house where Haisley was still there. Several bodyguards were already protecting Lucas, who was running towards the house. Arriving at the house, Lucas did not find Haisley at all.
"Miss Haisley was taken by one of the bodyguards to the back area of the island," said one of the bodyguards who had been protecting Lucas to get to the house.
"Damn it! Hurry up and get that bodyguard!" enraged Lucas as he rushed into his room to retrieve his weapon.
He exited through the back door of the house and ran towards the back of the island. "Call the others to prepare a boat or helicopter immediately," Lucas ordered one of the bodyguards running on either side of him.
"Yes, sir," replied one of the bodyguards running right beside Lucas.
They focused on the chase and were also aware of their surroundings. Lucas kept running until he reached the back of the island. It was quite tiring, plus he had lost Haisley, who was taken by some bodyguards using a speedboat.
"Hurry up and chase them, don't lose track of them!" said Lucas as he waited for his ship or helicopter.
Lucas now contacted his mother, "Mom, get some people ready for the chase. Haisley was kidnapped by some of my bodyguards. I'm currently waiting for a boat or helicopter to go after them," Lucas said when the line had just connected.
"Yes, mommy is heading there with your dad using the helicopter. Mommy has also sent the other bodyguards to the location," Julia said.
"Yes," Lucas said, and then the phone line was cut off by Julia. Lucas was now waiting for his bodyguard to arrive.
He couldn't see the speedboat carrying Haisley. What exactly was wrong with the people who were targeting Haisley? Why did it have to be Haisley that they were after? If they had a problem with Lucas, shouldn't he be the one they were after?
The speedboat arrived, and he quickly climbed onto the speedboat. The speedboat started off, but the direction was different from the speedboat that took Haisley away.
"Why are they heading this way? They're going that way," Lucas said as he pointed in the direction their speedboat was going.
"They must be heading this way, sir, because there's no harbor that way," said the bodyguard driving the speedboat.
Lucas stared ahead, a worried look on his face. He continued to stare ahead, hoping to quickly find Haisley's position. After almost 45 minutes on the speedboat, the boat finally docked at the dock. Lucas immediately got off the speed boat, he approached the bodyguards who were waiting on the dock.
"How about it? Did you guys go after the person who kidnapped Haisley?" asked Lucas, whose face had returned to anger. The look on Lucas' face at this moment was frightening and intimidating.
"We've been waiting here, but there are no speedboats docked at this dock," his bodyguard replied.
"Are you doing your job right?" asked Lucas and then gave a punch to the bodyguard who answered Lucas' question.
Lucas dialed his mother's number, which of course was immediately picked up by his mother. "How's it going?" asked Julia when the line was connected.
"There's no speedboat docked at the dock. I lost track of Haisley," Lucas replied.
"You tell them to keep looking and go in the direction you last saw the speedboat. There's a chance they went another way," Julia said.
"But one of the bodyguards said that there is no other way to the mainland except to this dock," said Lucas, who had a worried look on his face again.
"Already, just order them to check the road where you last saw them taking Haisley!" Julia ordered in a stern tone of voice.
"Yes," Lucas replied, and the call was cut off by his mother.
"Have some people return to the island and go in the direction I showed you earlier. Find out if there really is no way to the mainland other than this dock or not!" Lucas ordered in a stern tone of voice.
"Ah, I have to go," said Lucas, and he returned to the other speedboat instead of the one he had used earlier. He was going to take the speedboat himself.
Unfortunately, he had not yet boarded the boat, and two other people were holding Lucas' body. Lucas, who didn't have any preparation, couldn't avoid it until he fainted from inhaling the anesthetic, although when he was gagged and inhaled a little, he immediately held his breath. But the anesthetic turned out to be a little inhaled enough to make Lucas finally faint.
Lucas was immediately taken by the bodyguards. It turned out that the bodyguards who seemed to be on his side, in fact, all of those people betrayed him. Lucas was taken away by them from the dock, and Haisley was also taken away by them.
Now Julia contacted her men to find Haisley's whereabouts. "Honey," Julian called, making Julia now look at her husband.
She signaled to wait because she was on the phone. Julian also waited for his wife to finish the call. After Julia finished calling, he now looked at his wife.
"What's wrong?" asked Julia as she looked at her husband.
"Earlier Lucas said that Haisley was kidnapped by bodyguards," said Julia.
"Yeah, so what's wrong?" asked Julia as she looked at her husband strangely.
Julian didn't say anything, but his eyes hinted at something. Julia tried to understand the meaning of Julian's gaze, but she still couldn't understand what it meant.
