The Curse of Time (Harry Potter Fanfic)

Diagon Alley

Evelyn returned to Kojiro two weeks after placing the order due to complications. She had initially planned to pick up the katana earlier, but there had been an issue with the handle that caused the wand to get stuck.

Now, everything was operational, and on that same day, Evelyn received her letter of admission to Hogwarts. In the letter, she found the list of supplies she needed to obtain.

She decided to go to Diagon Alley with her little brother and grandmother to get her supplies and a gift for Neville, as he had finally shown signs of magic—although he had nearly died in the process. Their great uncle Agie had hung Neville out of a window and let go, but instead of hitting the ground, he bounced off it.

However, they were still unsure if he would be admitted to Hogwarts because he didn’t have much magical ability.

"Don’t stress out, Grandma. He could still show more signs of magic."

After taking the Magic Bus and helping Neville not to get into the back of the bus because of dangerous driving and also that he had not settled properly, they arrived at a kind of bar. They took the back door and found themselves in front of what seemed like a dead end, at least to those who didn’t know the secret. All it took was tapping a code on the bricks, and a path would be revealed a commercial street..

The first thing they needed to do was go to Gringotts, a bank run by goblins. The goblins were less friendly than Kojiro unless you were making a huge deposit or doing business that brought them significant profit.

They made a withdrawal that, according to Evelyn’s estimates, would be just about right for their planned expenses. Of course, if it wasn’t the exact amount needed, they would just have a little money left over.

They visited different stores, leaving only Neville’s gift and the school uniform to be bought.

They went to a pet shop with the intention of buying an owl or a cat.

Evelyn called her little brother over to show him several animals he might like, but nothing caught his eye. At one point, Neville’s attention was drawn to a toad. It didn’t seem special, but Neville asked for it and refused when his sister offered to buy something else in addition.

"I feel a connection with him. He’s nothing special—just like me, something ordinary."

Neville laughed at his own self-deprecation.

"Don’t say that. Your passion for herbology makes you special. Nobody is ordinary."

Evelyn tried to reassure him, and her words seemed to have a comforting effect.

While her brother and grandmother were getting something to eat, Evelyn went into Madam Malkin’s robe shop.

Her robes was made quickly due to her small size. However, before Madam Malkin finished, Evelyn requested that robes be created for her teenage form, resembling that of a 15-year-old, because as Evelyn often says, "You never know when it might be useful.". This demand to create two parallel thinking, one for having aged and the other for having returned at the age of origin.. Instead of paying for three dresses, she ended up paying for six, including three that might never be used.

The days passed quickly, and during this time, Evelyn spent her time reading without practicing any magic in case something went wrong. She also made sure to spend time with her family.

Very quickly, the day of the return arrived. They went to King’s Cross station to catch her train. To prevent Muggles from discovering this train, it was located at platform 9¾, accessible only by crossing a wall between platforms 9 and 10. Evelyn casually walked toward platform 9¾, making sure no Muggles noticed her disappearance.

As she walked, she couldn’t help but think that it wasn’t practical for those unaware of the existence of this passage. On September 1st, a wizard should be stationed there to explain to Muggle-born children where this route was, especially considering the unlikelihood of a wizarding family discussing Muggles and other such matters in a public place using those terms.
