Chapter 10: When Legends Collide.
Months had passed since the battle of Edd War, and the seas had grown even more perilous. The Roger Pirates had sailed from island to island, dodging marines and rival pirates alike, always pushing forward in search of the truth of the world.
Our latest journey had brought us to a deserted island in the New World. It was an empty, arid land, with overgrown vegetation and jagged cliffs. A place no one would bother to claim. But as fate would have it, we weren't the only ones here today.
A marine fleet, much smaller than usual, had tracked us down. It wasn't long before we saw them approaching, led by a Vice Admiral whose face I didn't recognize. With the sun beating down on us, the crew readied for battle.
But Roger wasn't fazed in the slightest, but I knew his health condition worsening.
The battle began swiftly. Marines charged onto the shore, but they were no match for us. One after another, they fell to our might. Rayleigh cut through waves of them with ease, Gaban wielded his twin axes like they weighed nothing, and the rest of us fought with unmatched ferocity.
I stood back at first, taking in the scene. The marines were far weaker than the ones we'd faced in the past. It didn't take long for us to mop up their forces.
Before long, Roger had already cut down the Vice Admiral leading the charge. He walked over to the man, who lay panting on the ground, blood dripping from his uniform. With a grin on his face, Roger sheathed his sword.
"You're too weak to catch me," Roger said in a casual tone, almost like he was talking to an old friend. "Next time, send someone like Garp or Sengoku." He turned to walk away, laughing as if the battle had been nothing but a warm-up.
But then, something unexpected happened.
From the opposite shore, a figure appeared. At first, it was nothing more than a silhouette against the blazing sun, but as it got closer, we recognized who it was.
"Captain it's Whitebeard" Buggy said looking scared through his binoculars.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting," he said, cracking his knuckles.
I noticed a figure stepping forward and running at super speed towards Roger 'Kozuki Oden', the infamous samurai from Wano. His reputation preceded him, and he carried himself with the confidence of a man who had never known defeat.
But Roger didn't even flinch. In one swift motion, Roger drew his sword and unleashed a powerful move that sent a shockwave through the air 'Divine Departure.'
The attack was so fast, so precise, that Oden didn't even see it coming. The force of it sent him flying backward, crashing into the many trees, with a look of utter shock on his face.
"What... what was that?" Oden gasped, struggling to his feet, his hands trembling as he clutched his swords.
Roger simply smiled, the entire island seemed to tremble under the weight of Roger's power, but before Oden could react, another presence made itself known.
With each single leap, Whitebeard soared through the air, jumping from treetop to treetop, heading straight for Roger. His massive form moved with surprising agility, and his naginata gleamed in the sunlight as he prepared to strike with a jump.
Roger met his charge head-on, their swords clashing with a thunderous roar. But what was even more terrifying was the Conqueror's Haki that exploded from both men.
The sky above seemed to split in two as their Haki clashed, sending shockwaves across the island. The sheer force of it was enough to knock countless trees down and send the weaker members of both crews stumbling back. Oden thrust his sword in ground to stay put.
From where I stood, I watched in awe as the as the anime scene of two legends facing off live before me, their auras so overwhelming that the very air seemed to crackle with power.
"There swords are not even touching!" Oden muttered in disbelief, his eyes wide as he witnessed the clash between Roger and Whitebeard.
The battle prolonged for three long days and nights. The Roger Pirates and the Whitebeard Pirates were locked in a fierce struggle, neither side willing to give an inch to others.
Rayleigh, the Dark King, faced off against Marco the Phoenix, who had yet to fully master his Devil Fruit powers but was already proving himself to be an incredibly formidable opponent. Rayleigh's swordsmanship was unparalleled, and every clash between them sent sparks flying.
Meanwhile, Gaban took on Kozuki Oden in a brutal duel of blades. Oden, still recovering from Roger's earlier strike, fought with renewed vigor, his samurai skills on full display as he clashed with Gaban's twin axes.
Even the lesser-known members of the crew had their hands full. Nozdon, our Seagull Guns marksman, squared off against Jozu, the Diamond Man, each of them testing the limits of their abilities in a deadly game of precision and strength.
Despite the chaos of the battle, there was a strange sense of honor between both crews. No one fought with hatred or malice. This was a clash of legends, an inevitable meeting between two of the strongest forces on the seas.
As the battle raged on, the island itself began to bear the scars of their fight. Craters formed where Haki had clashed, trees were uprooted, and the ground was torn apart by the sheer force of their blows. I only used my Swordsmanship in this battle.
But after three days, it became clear that neither side would be able to claim victory. Exhausted but unbroken, both captains stood atop a ridge, staring each other down with mutual respect.
"You're still as strong as ever, Whitebeard," Roger said, breathing heavily but smiling. "But I think it's time to call this one a draw."
The crews, battered and bruised, began to pick up the pieces, tending to their wounded and repairing their ships as no one died. There were no hard feelings, no bitter words. In the end, it had been a battle between rivals, between those who sought the same thing, the freedom of the seas.
After resting and cleaning for a while it became some sorts of exchange event where both crews exchanged their hidden stash for something of eqal value from others.
Seeing this "just sometime ago they were trying to bite each others head off and now it turned out into a exchange fare" Rayleigh sighed and chuckled.
