The Dragon King And His Omniscient System

«Where am I?»

In a dark void, a warm breath surrounded him like a cocoon. The man opened his eyes, but there was no light or form, only a strange silence... and a feeling of suffocation.

Old memories were still in his mind: a black office, a multitude of files, and a torn dismissal letter.

Here, he seemed to be alive... or maybe not. The first intuition he had was that he couldn't move. His entire body was imprisoned in an enclosed space.

«Wait a minute... I died a few hours ago... And now... I'm alive imprisoned somewhere? »

Suddenly, a masculine and mechanical voice resounded in his mind:

He was overcome by confusion mixed with terror.

[Welcome, Host. You are currently in a dragon egg and have been selected to be reborn as the Dragon King, the legendary ruler of a fallen kingdom. Your mission: to restore this land and reach your full potential.]

«Seriously? An egg? What's a bad joke from a prankster god? »

He felt a magical energy invade him, a quantity of mana coming from the ruins around him. The shell vibrated slightly with each drop of energy absorbed.

Inside the dragon egg, he could hear echoes from the outside world. There were gigantic creatures that moved, bandits and mercenaries that searched the ruins in search of precious treasures. He quickly understood that his birth would not be greeted with joy.

Mercenary voices echoed nearby:

—Hey, look over there!" An egg!

— It must be worth a good fortune. A dragon egg, too! What a beautiful day!

Before the system launched evolution, it felt a wave of doubt invade it. Everything was going too fast. He stared at his still small claws, his fragile wings.

A thought crossed him.

The memory of his past humanity returned. A life where every step took time, where every experience had value. Here, everything seemed accelerated, almost forced.
