Chapter 5
Chapter 005: What Is This?:
Silence.
No one responded to Yue Hongling.
Three days later, Yue Hongling returned to the Grand Dao Sect in a rage and headed straight to Lu Ye’s residence.
At this moment, Lu Ye was preparing to form his Foundation.
Yue Hongling raised her foot, ready to kick the door open, but seeing the door she had just repaired, she hesitated.
Still, she lacked manners and chose not to knock. Instead, she pushed the door open without permission.
“Bang!”
The moment the door opened, a fist came flying toward her.
She reacted quickly and managed to block it, but her body was still sent hurtling backward. Blood churned in her chest, and her face turned red.
The door slammed shut again.
“Lu Ye!”
Her anger flared to the point that she no longer bothered addressing him as senior brother and directly shouted his name.
Lu Ye ignored her.
In the past, this habit of hers—entering rooms uninvited—had annoyed him. Even then, he had tolerated it.
There had been times when she barged in during his private discussions with others, forcing herself into the conversation.
She never changed.
But now? She wasn’t worth the effort.
Yue Hongling took several deep breaths.
Life teaches lessons where words fail.
For the first time in her life, she knocked on Lu Ye’s door.
“Knock, knock, knock!”
“Get lost!”
Yue Hongling…
“Stay calm. Don’t get angry. Anger leads to mistakes.”
“Did you take the Perfect Primordial Pill from the ancient tomb?”
“No. Leave.”
Yue Hongling, who had been about to speak further, froze.
He denied it?
He wouldn’t admit it?
“You’re actually denying it? Lu Ye, how did you become like this?”
Lu Ye remained silent.
“Answer me!”
No response.
“If you had the guts to take the pill, then come out and face me!”
“Don’t pretend you’re not home. I know you’re in there!”
“Lu Ye, open the door!”
The door creaked open. Yue Hongling’s face lit up with triumph.
But her satisfaction was short-lived.
What greeted her wasn’t an apology, but a swift and heavy punch.
“Bang!”
The punch landed squarely on her eye, sending her stumbling backward. Tears flowed uncontrollably from her reddened eye.
“I’ll kill you!”
Yue Hongling screamed, throwing herself at Lu Ye with reckless abandon.
Lu Ye, respecting every opponent, was ready.
‘Come at me, and then be defeated.’
Before Yue Hongling could reach him, a white figure descended gracefully, intercepting her charge.
“Yue Hongling, calm yourself!”
The figure was none other than Bai Qiulan, their master. Yue Hongling stopped in her tracks, her eye now black and swollen, evidence of the force behind Lu Ye’s punch.
“Master, he hit me…” Yue Hongling began to cry, whether from physical pain or emotional grievance.
Bai Qiulan frowned and turned to Lu Ye.
“Why did you strike your junior sister?”
Lu Ye answered honestly, “I felt like it.”
Bai Qiulan…
“Master, look at him!” Yue Hongling exclaimed indignantly.
Bai Qiulan sighed softly. “I understand you harbor resentment, but she is still your junior sister.”
Lu Ye smirked faintly.
“And that gives her the right to barge into someone else’s room without knocking? To demand attention when she isn’t wanted?”
Bai Qiulan’s frown deepened.
“Enough about that. Yue Hongling, why are you here?” Bai Qiulan asked.
She understood that Lu Ye’s anger was justified. After all, anyone in his position would feel the same.
“He took the Perfect Primordial Pill from the tomb. I need it, and he doesn’t, so I came to ask for an exchange,” Yue Hongling said, her voice tinged with grievance.
Bai Qiulan immediately understood.
Among the eight of them, Yue Hongling had always been the least talented. Lu Ye had invested significant effort to help her in the past.
“If your junior sister needs it and you don’t, why not give her the pill? If you lack anything, tell me, and I’ll get it for you,” Bai Qiulan suggested.
Lu Ye shook his head.
“Sorry, but I need the Perfect Primordial Pill too.”
“That’s impossible! With your talent, you don’t need the pill to form a Foundation!” Yue Hongling protested.
“Exactly. Lu Ye, your cultivation is so advanced that you can form a Sacred Foundation without it,” Bai Qiulan added.
“If I say I need it, I need it. Stop bothering me.” Lu Ye’s voice was impatient as he turned to leave.
“Lu Ye! Do you really think I can’t form a Sacred Foundation without the Perfect Primordial Pill?” Yue Hongling shouted, on the verge of exploding.
Lu Ye paused, turned back, and pulled out the Perfect Primordial Pill.
Both Yue Hongling and Bai Qiulan were momentarily stunned. Bai Qiulan, in particular, felt a glimmer of hope.
But then, in front of their eyes, Lu Ye casually popped the pill into his mouth and swallowed it.
Without a word, he turned and left.
What the…
Both Bai Qiulan and Yue Hongling were left speechless.
“Bang!”
The door slammed shut.
Silence reigned.
“So… this is who he is now?” Bai Qiulan muttered, trying to rationalize Lu Ye’s behavior. They had hurt him deeply, but hadn’t he also been at fault? Couldn’t they start anew? Was it really necessary to act so heartless?
Yue Hongling clenched her teeth, barely holding back her fury.
“I don’t care! I’ll form a Sacred Foundation without the Perfect Primordial Pill and prove him wrong!”
She shouted at Lu Ye’s closed door, but he didn’t respond.
He had already begun forming his Foundation.
Bai Qiulan watched Yue Hongling storm off, a chill suddenly sweeping over her.
Was it colder now?
She looked up at the sky.
The sun shone brightly.
…
Breakthrough successful!
As expected, Lu Ye had formed a Sacred Foundation.
The flaw in his initial cultivation, where he hadn’t reached the ultimate limit, was now rectified.
Cultivation was like building a tower—every step was critical. A single flaw, magnified over time, could lead to disaster as the tower grew taller.
In his previous life, he had suffered countless setbacks because of that flaw, trying every method to fix it, to no avail.
This time, he had no doubts. He had simulated it countless times.
After his breakthrough, he continued cultivating, his strength growing rapidly.
In four days, he reached the 2nd stage Foundation Establishment Realm.
In sixteen days, the 3rd stage.
In thirty days, the 4th stage.
As his cultivation soared, the divine abilities that had once belonged to him began to awaken.
…
While Lu Ye focused on his rapid cultivation, Chu Sword Manor experienced several interesting developments.
Chu Ling was once again treated as the cherished young mistress, adored and protected by everyone.
The manor assigned eight powerful guards to ensure her safety at all times.
But Chu Ling noticed something strange—her biological parents were missing.
When she asked Zeng Shuiyue about it, she was told that after her disappearance, her parents had lost all attachment to the manor and returned to their hometown.
Chu Ling understood. After all, her parents had received substantial wealth and could now live a comfortable life back home.
Another peculiar event was the disappearance of Chu Si.
When she asked about him, Zeng Shuiyue explained that he had left the manor to travel the world in search of opportunities.
Surrounded by familial love, Chu Ling felt at peace.
Unbeknownst to her, the critical moment for forging the demonic sword had arrived.
