Chapter 29: Time Passing 4
"Seth, I assume you know why I am contacting you." An imposing man with white hair and an eye patch looked into a mirror artefact. A dark man with red eyes looked at Odin with a similar artefact disdainfully. A dark man with red eyes looked at Odin with with a similar artefact disdainfully. "Odin, who do you think you are talking to? Of course, I know what happened. I think only the ignorant are unaware at this point." Set rolled his eyes. He did not give an ounce of respect to Odin.
Odin just narrowed his eyes, he was used to the disrespect from Seth. They both know that Odin couldn't do much towards him, this was due to Odin's issues with his realms. Another reason is that he couldn't afford to provoke the Egyptian pantheon, a fight with Ra was nonsense considering that he was the embodiment of the sun.
"What are you planning to do now Seth?" Odin asked, but deep down he already knew what the cunning Seth might do. He wanted to take advantage of whatever chaos Seth would provoke to search and possibly recruit the unknown being to his ranks. Seth arrogantly glared at Odin with a wide smile across his face.
He knew all too well what the old man would do, so he had to keep up the arrogant façade to throw off Odin. "I'm not too sure. I'll probably find it and fight him if it's worth a damm." Seth was formulating a plan to recruit that unknown being, too. He was even colluding with Ra to achieve his ends.
Seth was extremely displeased about this as he was not a particular fan of the other Egyptian gods. But for this particular issue, he had no choice, if the other major factions stepped in his presence alone couldn't accomplish much. But if he had his pantheon's backing, he could probably force that being to be his slave.
Seth was getting excited, he was giddy about the potential weapon he would acquire to destroy his pantheon. On the outside everyone assumes that Seth was simply annoyed with his pantheon but only his 'trusted' subordinates knew his true feelings. These subordinates had their souls pieced together by Seth, as a god of death he had some influence on souls.
Though he couldn't 'edit' the heavy and powerful souls of gods he could meddle with those of demons. In his realm such was the norm, he had more demons than he knew what to do with. Thus, he practiced and practice eventually understanding the basics of editing a demon's soul. He then used this despicable method to accumulate his army of 'loyal' soldiers. All the demons he 'recruited' knew that they could die at any moment if Seth so desired.
This death was not as gentle as a normal death, for demons' could die and would only be reforged in hell sometime later. Seth could give them true death, as the base of all beings are their souls if Seth so desired he could break apart their damaged and pieced-together souls if they even do something to displease him.
As a being who loves to know all that happens, he even went as far as to curse his army. This curse was very simple, those who harbour any rebellious thoughts towards him would be known by him instantly. The rest of what will happen need not be said.
"I will go now Odin, I don't particularly have the time not patience to deal with you" Seth cut off the transmission with a snap of his fingers. He immediately gave orders to his subordinates, "Find everything you can, if possible, recruit him. If deemed impossible eliminate him immediately, use the typical methods and use these conditions."
Seth just threw some parchments in front of his subordinate. Without a word, the subordinate took the parchments and left to carry out his mission. Odin was doing something similar but instead of simple assassins, he sent Loki the god of trickers himself.
