Chapter 8: Shattering Common Sense
They both started channelling their power, slowly their hair started to sway. The air around them started to get chaotic and pressure started being exerted on the surroundings. The ground cracked the trees started creaking and breaking. Marco observed as was asked, he saw something being exerted from the girls. It looked like flames were spreading from their chests, specifically the area around their hearts.
They both brought up their hand and more power flowed from their body to the surroundings, the main bulk was centred around their raised hand. Simultaneously they both snapped their fingers, for a moment nothing happened until a boom was heard. The surroundings were petrified and visibly started to grow darker, pillars of obsidian stone sprouted from the ground and surrounded the trio. The pillars started to compress, merge and refine to look like castle walls.
"This will do for now I suppose" Diya commented while knocking on the ground. As she did part of the ground splinted and cracked, only for a moment later to be automatically repaired. Marco was stunned watching this marvellous sight, a protrusion shot up from the massive stone beside Ema. The stone slab condensed and almost immediately a gigantic rack of weapons formed.
Ema without hesitation approached and took a short sword, she gestured towards the weapons and spoke "Choose anything that catches your eye, though I have a sinking suspicion about the weapon you will choose."
Hearing Ema, Marco looked around the massive weapon rack, observing the formed weapons. Touching some part of him told him that this was either a fever dream or a hallucination if he overdosed something. Though he knew that he was too cheap even to try anything of the sort he found that he was in reality when he cut his hand. He felt the pain while seeing his hand bleeding, mentally he jumped back to the theory that this was a fever dream as his blood was no longer red. The blood dripping out was black, pitch black like the starless night. Observing his wound the blood collated around the wound and healed it, as if what he saw was a mirage the wound disappeared.
He decided to follow his instincts in this irrational situation where reality did not seem present, so he picked up a scythe without thinking and walked towards Ema. He handled the scythe in his hands trying to find a comfortable position and positioned himself like a character he saw in a movie. Ema's smile grew wide, her eyes flashed with power and a massive pressure started to bombard the arena.
Her presence alone made the colosseum tremble, it was continuously breaking and repairing itself. Seeing Marco's face filled with determination she decided that she needed to match his determination. Slowly her sword started to grow, it slowly doubled in size. The obsidian material grew to the point that it looked like a boulder, Ema smashed her free hand into the stone shattering the boulder. What was left was two swords, the short sword resembled a xiphos while the long sword looked like a tachi.
They both positioned themselves against each other, staring unmoving they both prepared to begin. Marco swallowed hard, he tried to calm himself by screaming "I have to be careful!" repeatedly in his head. But the gigantic smile plastered on his face did not fade, his eyes began darkening into something that swallowed all light that dared enter. Then they began BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM! Kicking off the fight with a massive explosion.
