Chapter 50 Really Shameless
Is this invisibility?” Jun Jiu and Xiao Wu simultaneously looked at Mo Wuyue, each with a curious expression. Seeing that Mo Wuyue couldn’t resist, he raised his hand and patted Jun Jiu’s head.
“The hair is so soft~” Before Jun Jiu could react, Mo Wuyue withdrew his hand and said, “When you become stronger, you can achieve this by using your consciousness to cover your body.”
“Oh,” Jun Jiu nodded, making a mental note.
However, she didn’t realize that achieving such a feat required tremendous strength, far beyond what a spiritual practitioner could achieve.
They walked into the Dan Pavilion. There was no need to ask for directions; everyone was discussing Zhao He and the Nuanxin Yiqi Pills. Because Zhao He had “created” these pills, he was receiving a unique honor. He would be witnessed by thousands in the Dan Pavilion, and he would be promoted from an ordinary doctor to an alchemist!
It was a remarkable leap, and everyone admired him. “Zhao He is truly a genius! To create a unique elixir recipe like this is extraordinary. I heard that the Dan Pavilion rated this elixir as first-class!”
“A first-class elixir, you say?”
“No, even better! Now you see how powerful Master Zhao He is? Even the Crown Prince and the Young Master of the Yun family are here personally today, trying to recruit him.”
Jun Jiu couldn’t help but laugh at this.
Xiao Wu chimed in with a meow of disapproval. “This Zhao He stole the master’s elixir recipe and passed it off as his own creation. Shameless!”
“You’re right, Xiao Wu,” Jun Jiu agreed. “He’s utterly shameless.”
As they talked, Jun Jiu noticed that her right hand was still holding Mo Wuyue’s hand. She subconsciously stopped but couldn’t withdraw it. Looking down, she saw a dragon-shaped ring on Mo Wuyue’s hand. It was unique and gorgeous.
As she gazed at the ring, the ruby eyes on it seemed to come alive. Jun Jiu’s eyes glazed over for a moment, and then she quickly covered her eyes with her hand.
Mo Wuyue whispered, “Don’t look at it; it can consume your soul.”
Jun Jiu’s pupils contracted suddenly.
Mo Wuyue let go of Jun Jiu’s hand. She wanted to take another look at the ring, but Mo Wuyue told her, “Aren’t you here to see Zhao He?”
Jun Jiu agreed and averted her gaze, but she couldn’t help but remain curious and cautious. She wondered why Mo Wuyue wore such a ring and whether it could truly consume souls.
Suddenly, a cheerful voice interrupted Jun Jiu’s thoughts. A young girl approached Jun Jiu and said, “Wow, are you here to see Master Zhao He too?”
Jun Jiu turned her head and found a pretty and bright-faced girl standing in front of her. The girl’s eyes widened with amazement, and she exclaimed, “Your front view is even prettier than your profile view! You’re so beautiful!”
Jun Jiu smiled and teased, “How beautiful am I?”
The girl, about the same age as Jun Jiu, held her chin and looked at her seriously. She said, “You’re incredibly beautiful! You’re the prettiest person I’ve ever seen! Beautiful lady, what’s your name? Can I be friends with you?”
Jun Jiu laughed at her compliment. “I’m Jun Jiu. What’s your name?”
The girl replied eagerly, “I’m Jun Xiaolei. Oh, our last names are both Jun. Could we be related?”
Jun Jiu raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Family? The Jun family couldn’t possibly produce such an adorable and lively girl like Jun Xiaolei. But if they were related…
Jun Xiaolei leaned on the railing beside Jun Jiu and said with a smile, “Let’s exchange names and become friends. I’ll call you Sister Ninth. Haven’t you come to see Master Zhao He as well?”
Jun Jiu decided to tease her a bit. “Yes, but let me tell you a secret.”
Jun Xiaolei leaned in, curious. “What is it?”
“Zhao He is a fraud, and the recipe isn’t his,” Jun Jiu whispered.
“Really?” Jun Xiaolei’s eyes widened in disbelief.
She quickly pulled Jun Jiu’s sleeve and cautioned, “Sister Ninth, you can’t say things like that! Everyone here is here to see Master Zhao He, and he’s so amazing! Even the prince, the eldest lady from the Jun family, and the young master from the Yun family are here to see him. If you say that, you might get kicked out.”
Jun Xiaolei was right. Jun Jiu had been standing there for a while and had heard nothing but praise for Zhao He. He was being hailed as someone who could do no wrong.
Jun Jiu couldn’t help but chuckle. “What a shameless liar he is.”
Xiao Wu added his disapproval with a meow.
Jun Jiu moved her fingers and realized that her right hand was still holding Mo Wuyue’s hand. She subconsciously stopped but couldn’t withdraw it. Looking down, she saw a dragon-shaped ring on Mo Wuyue’s hand. It was unique and gorgeous.
