The Evil Scientist is Too Competent

Chapter 73

Arima, who became a mom against the odds of 1 in 5, struggled to accept the reality, but that didn’t magically change the roulette result.

Finally accepting his new role as a mom, as he moved to the laboratory with Eight, Arima started to voice his complaints.

“Eight? Now that I think about it, the boss is blonde, right? How can either of us play the parental role when neither of us is blonde? One of us should at least be blonde!”

“Don’t worry about it. I have something prepared for that.”

“…Prepared?”

Arima asked back with a bewildered expression as I silently showed him a shimmering golden liquid. Seeing the liquid, Arima opened her mouth with a “No way!” expression.

“Hair dye? Are you seriously going to dye yourself blonde right now?”

“Well, it is kind of like hair dye… Just try it!”

“Eat it? Hair dye?”

Just as Arima was shocked that hair dye wasn’t supposed to be ingested, he cautiously gulped it down. After he drank the whole bottle without any change, he tilted his head in confusion.

Nothing suddenly changed into a woman, nor did his hair turn blonde. he glared at me, clueless about what had changed. I casually shrugged my shoulders in response.

“Look in the mirror.”

“Look in the mirror? But I didn’t change… Huh?”

Thud-!

The moment Arima looked in the mirror, a chilling cracking sound echoed from somewhere. Arima started to get surprised, too. Crackle, crackle-! The changes continued. His face began to transform, getting more feminine and beautiful.

His hair started to turn blonde from the roots, eventually gleaming bright blonde at the ends. The sturdy male muscles softened into flesh, and his chest subtly puffed out.

Before long, in the mirror stood a breathtaking beauty that looked like what Regalia would become. Arima let out a hollow laugh at the sight.

“Polymorph magic isn’t this simple…” (Arima)

“You have that magic? Why didn’t you mention it earlier?”

“Not really. It’s not that great of magic♠. All I can do is look just like the boss. I can’t change to look like the boss’s mom like this.” (Arima)

They say it’s really easy to imitate someone. You just have to look at that person and copy them. But imagining an existence that doesn’t exist and transforming is difficult. To transform, you have to envision the appearance of the person you want to mimic in your mind, and transforming into someone aged is hard work.

You can force a transformation, but doing so might result in missing an ear or having half your face caved in, or looking a bit off. Moreover, wizards, by their nature, didn’t bother to develop such techniques since they don’t need to imitate others.

“If you can transform into the target’s appearance, why would you need to change into someone similar?” (Arima)

“Well, that’s true.” (Eight)

“And above all— Polymorph magic is a pretty advanced spell. Mages who have reached that level don’t need to imitate others.”

From Arima’s words, I realized that magic isn’t necessarily all-powerful. If you make a machine or tool, it works the same no matter who uses it, but that’s not the case with magic; the effects vary based on the individual’s skill level.

For magic to be all-powerful, the user must be. You need to become a capable person who can accomplish anything even without the aid of magic for magic to truly become all-powerful. It’s kind of a paradox.

“What in the world is this made out of? I can’t even imagine.”

“Um… the boss’s hair.”

“…The boss’s hair? Why do you have that, Eight?”

“She gave it to me when I asked the secretary…”

“Is that so…?”

At that moment, even without using magic, I felt I could read Arima’s thoughts. He must think the secretary is a dangerous person. I felt the same way.

When I asked for a piece of hair that had fallen from the boss, I never imagined she would hand me a bag of hair packaged in plastic. The moment I witnessed that, my emotions were beyond words.

I gazed at the remaining golden liquid. This one I put more effort into. Not because I was going to drink it, but because it was meant for males.

‘If only the boss were male…’

Since the boss was female, it was tough to extract the masculine parts from her chromosomes. The needed Y chromosome simply doesn’t exist, right? Because of that, I had to use my chromosomes for the lacking Y chromosome.

So, technically, this was more like a potion to become a blend of the boss and me rather than just becoming like the boss.

Gulp-!

“Ugh…!”

Crack-

After hearing the crack that Arima had also heard once, I carefully looked in the mirror. There was no doubt that the transformation was a success. I could tell just by seeing the gleam in Arima’s eyes beside me that the potion worked.

However, when I saw my reflection, I realized this experiment had succeeded even better than I expected.

‘…This is going to cause a ruckus.’

* * *

At the elementary school in City E.

During a parent observation class.

“Um… then… who will try to solve this problem…?”

At the teacher’s question, the kids remained silent. They weren’t normally this quiet. When the parents first walked in, it was noisy, but not to this extent.

The change in their behavior started after two parents entered the classroom. The teacher, glancing at the two people’s faces, instinctively understood why the kids reacted this way.

Even as an adult, seeing them made one gulp in awe. Their charisma couldn’t possibly be that of regular office workers. The air of royalty or nobility dripped from the two of them.

‘Lia… said they were just ordinary parents…’

The teacher shot a resentful glance at Regalia. According to the information she submitted, her parents were supposed to be just typical office workers.

But really. How on earth could those two be considered ordinary office workers?

‘They could totally be royalty.’

Gazing at Regalia’s appearance, her uniform, and the natural grace flowing from her, the teacher should have realized earlier. Regalia wasn’t just a girl from an ordinary family, and her parents were no ordinary people, either.

Thus, the class continued sluggishly. The children didn’t show their usual vivid spirit and instead looked somewhat intimidated, but no parent dared to protest.

Why? Because they were intimidated too!

“Um, then… who will read from the textbook…?”

“…I’ll do it, teacher.”

“Oh, really? Shall Lia give it a go…?”

Regalia, somewhat realizing why this atmosphere had formed, stood up and led the class. Her clear voice filled the classroom, and like sweet candy, it began to melt the hearts of the children, who were previously intimidated.

If the two imposing figures standing at the back were tyrants, then Regalia was a benevolent ruler who embraced everyone.

The children became increasingly captivated by Regalia’s opposing majesty. Their bodies, hearts, and souls. They would never forget Regalia the queen and would anchor their hearts to her for life.

Time passed, and class ended.

The children slowly ran to find their parents.

Regalia did the same.

“…Eight?”

“Regalia. I really enjoyed your presentation.”

So that’s what a scientist looks like—.

Looking at Eight, who resembled me so much that it could be believed he was my dad, I let out a hollow laugh. No, I asked him to play the dad role, but I didn’t expect him to literally show up as my dad…

I was curious how he could look so much like me, but there was something I was even more curious about.

“If you’re a scientist… then who is this?”

Standing next to him was a woman who looked completely like me. It wouldn’t be hard to believe she was an older sister rather than a mom. A blonde beauty. I knew for a fact that there were no such beauties in the Evil Organization.

So, who on earth is this woman? Did the scientist end up with a woman without me knowing? Surprisingly, that wasn’t the case.

“It’s me. The boss♠.”

“…Arima?”

“Yes- I’m Arima-mama.”

Realizing the identity of the woman, Regalia moaned.

Arima, that Arima?

Why is the world-renowned magician, Arima, dressed like this?

As she curiously touched Arima’s chest, Regalia realized he wasn’t merely cross-dressing.

“Um…?”

“Oh my.”

For real, there were breasts there.

So, it wasn’t just cross-dressing—there stood Arima, who had truly become a woman.

Regalia felt her head spin with confusion.
