chapter 26
26 – Take a turn?
Ed finished looking around the plaza with Glowyn and entered an expensive-looking restaurant. Normally, he would have chosen a reasonable price range, but he also spent the night at a hotel, and the 50 million Enel that guests gave him was enough money to open Ed’s wallet.
“Ed, do you think she intends to keep following her?”
On the way to the diner, Glowyn saw Brette following her a few steps away and said to Ed.
When Ed refused to ask for a moment, he ignored Brette, whose face and body stiffened, and continued to walk around, but at one point he stood a few steps behind. It looked like he was going to follow Glowyn to the restaurant, but Ed decided to ignore it.
It’s not a big deal to talk about for a while, but there will definitely be a difference between a real wizard who uses pure mana, pure mana that can have a fairly large amount of wind element around him, and a necromancer who uses corsis. I thought it would be appropriate to refrain from acting conspicuously until I went to the south and was protected by the saintess Maria Enild had talked about.
“I’ll guide you to a seat for two.”
A waiter came and ushered Ed and Glowyn to a round table. I sat down, ordered the lunch set menu, and while waiting for a while, Brette sat at the empty table right next to me. Glowyn gave Ed a quick glance, and Ed, thinking it was inevitable, turned slightly towards Brette.
“Brette, I think we can talk until dinner is served.”
“I’ll have to wait a long time to talk to Mr. Frozenborn.”
Having said that, Brette moved to the table where Ed and Glowyn were sitting.
“My companion, Mr. Glowyn, is not a wizard, so it would be nice if we could talk moderately lightly.”
“I want to talk about it in depth… Okay. I heard that Mr. Frozenborn uses the ice attribute, but isn’t the ice attribute more inefficient than magic bullets in that it uses physical force after all?”
When I saw Edgar Brette, I thought he was going to talk sloppy and not constructive, so I avoided talking to him, but when I saw his academic approach, I thought I was wrong. I already had the answer to that, but I don’t know if it will work because it’s an advantage that comes from using the ice attribute as a ‘Necromancer’.
“There are various attributes in the world, but among them, I think that the ice attribute is specialized in exerting ‘physical power’ just like the earth attribute. In terms of strength, it may be lacking compared to the earth attribute, but it is possible to freely gather necessary elements in the air. “I consider that an advantage.”
“It’s about the properties of ice.”
Brette responded to Ed’s story with a light smile on her face, full of interest.
“I think it’s special that you can use both attributes to exercise full physical power, so you can ignore the opponent’s magic resistance. If you use elemental magic as it is against an opponent with strong magic resistance, the effect will decrease drastically, but if you use ice, it will become physical power. Because.”
“It’s advantage is that it uses physical force against opponents with strong magic resistance. Then, in the case of the ogre that Mr. Frozenborn defeated this time, it can be said that it has strong physical resistance. Isn’t the ice attribute a disadvantage when dealing with such a guy?”
‘That’s why I mixed the curse.’
Ed swallowed the words and nodded. And then lunch started serving. The waitress was a bit taken aback when she saw Brette, who had suddenly moved to her seat, but didn’t make a mistake and started moving three servings of food to our table. The time Ed had agreed to give to Brete was over, but he decided to add one more word.
“Any power is up to you to use.”
“That’s right. I wish I had a little more time… What are you going to do in the South?”
“I have someone to meet.”
Having said that, Ed began to eat, and Brette stopped talking.
‘Did Mr. Ed cope well with this?’
Since he had little knowledge of magic, Glowyn couldn’t understand everything Ed said, but he could tell that he was just talking about general-purpose properties. Compared to things like fire, wind, and lightning, there was a strong feeling that water, ice, and earth definitely exercise physical force.
So, Glowwin quietly started eating.
‘A meal was served at an important point.’
Brette thought as she watched Ed slowly eat the soup. There wasn’t much wrong with Ed’s explanation of the ice properties. However, hunting an ogre was not something that could be done by knowing the theory well.
He thought he had reached a certain level as a wind-wielding mage, but he did not think that his magic would work well against ogres. However, Frozenborn defeated an ogre by himself with the ice attribute, which is more difficult to deal with, so I was curious to see if I could become stronger by referring to that method.
‘It’s a shame.’
If it wasn’t for the guild master of the Ringe Guild, he would have followed him around and talked about magic, but it was a day when he hated being a guild master for the first time in a long time.

Afterwards, Brette spoke lightly over the food and did not ask questions that Ed found difficult to answer. I wanted to make a good impression on Tabia, so I talked about places Ed and Glowin had never been to.
“Was there a place like that?”
Glowyn, who had only wandered around Tabia Station and the plaza, fell in love with Brete’s words. Brete thought that if he attacked Glowwin, he would stop at Tabia to spend time with Ed when he went up to the center again, so he told Glowwin a good place for a woman to go.
Glowyn took out the notepad she had been carrying with her to take notes about Ed, wrote down Brette’s story, tore it open, and put it aside in her pocket.
“Do you have any questions about anything else, Mr. Frozenborn?”
“Yes. No.”
Finally, after eating dessert, the three people stood up. Ed and Glowyn had little free time now, as they had to go to the track management, get tickets, and get ready for the next train. Brete, who sensed that it was time to part ways, took out a business card from his wallet and handed it to Ed.
“Brete Winia, the guild master of the Ringe Guild. Please call me if you need my help. If Mr. Frozenbone stops by Tabia, I hope we have a chance to talk to him again.”
“Ed Frozenborn, I don’t have a business card. Next time I get a chance, I’ll stop by Tabia and see you.”
Ed, who received Brete’s business card, held out his right hand, and Brete held it, shook it lightly twice, and then went their separate ways.
As they were waiting for the train to arrive, Glowin looked at Ed and said,
“Did Mr. Ed know that Mr. Brete was the guild master?”
Gloween asked if Ed knew about it and initially refused to talk about it.
“I didn’t know. Still, I was naturally wary because I was prepared to fight if the situation arises.”
When Ed looked at Brete, seeing that Brete had a wand on her waist and that there were plenty of wind elements around her, Ed showed her will to use magic. I knew from experience that an opponent who was so sharp would calm down if he gave them time to cool down while avoiding them roughly. Around the time of the meal, after confirming that the mana of the wind attribute that fluttered on Brete’s body had disappeared, he had decided to have a short conversation.
“Is that so…? I just thought it was because I wanted to recruit Ed when I heard that he was a guild master later.”
“I’m still not in a hurry to join the guild of someone weaker than me.”
I don’t know how to make a living because I ran out of money. Even in the 7th guerrilla army, I defeated everyone in front of me with my skills and rose to the position of captain. Thinking about that, Ed thought once again that he played a role in defeating the students at Cetin Divine Academy.
“Really? Mr. Ed has met Enild Setin Quasar Principal? What about him?”
Then, as a joke, Glowyn said the strongest person she knew. As Ed pondered for a moment to answer the question, a signal began to ring out that a train heading south was entering the station. Ed finished his thoughts with the regular signal as the background sound.
“The headmaster can’t help me.”
“Yes?”
Glowwin waited for the train without saying a word, thinking that it would be difficult to fight Enild even as a high-class necromancer.
Similarly, as he stopped talking and waited for the train to come in, Ed began to think about the second, whether he could beat Enild with all his might. I’ve seen the student council president Carter Rivera use the Holy Light Spear. If the starlight spear can be used as a silent spear and as a barrage, can Death Knight Arang, who was the main summoner, be able to stop it?
“After getting off, passengers please get on board!”
The flight attendant spoke to help get on and off, but no one got off from the side of the cabin where Ed was supposed to board. Ed and Glowyn went into their compartment, unpacked their suitcases, sat down comfortably, and took out the book they had bought the day before and began to read.
Ed opened the book, but in his head he continued to fight against the imaginary Enild. He hadn’t experienced how strong it was in reality, so he fought by combining two of the information he knew, three light spears, and one that was stronger than Carter’s in power, but he was still lacking in one end.
‘Filling eight Death Knights is another way.’
Ed thought that if he had eight Death Knights of the same level as Arang, he could defeat Enild, but that was impossible unless he returned to the north. Ed decided not to fight Enild, but he decided to stop thinking about it and focused on his book.
It seemed that he had habitually brought out ‘The State of Southern Monsters’, which he had read several times, rather than the new ‘Ecology of Central Monsters’, but Ed moved the last page rather than taking out a new one.
‘Desert King Lizard.’
It was somewhat similar to what we usually think of as a dragon, but it couldn’t fly and its forelimbs were underdeveloped.
However, if you make this guy, who can be said to be the strongest in the southern ecosystem, into a summoned beast… ?
‘no. There’s not enough space in the subspace.’
And because of Ed’s maximum command distance limitation, the huge summons were difficult to handle.
*
The schedule was delayed for about a day by blocking an ogre, a large monster blocking the tracks, but there were no monsters blocking the tracks after that.
As a result of taking the train for a few more days, Ed and Glowyn arrived in the real South.
