Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Full of Thrills
```
The morning sun spilled over the two spiritual fields halfway up the hillside.
Some greenery was peeking through the spiritual fields which were shrouded in a layer of faint mist.
Li Muyang, yawning, stood on the ridge of the field, holding a watering can, and employing the Little Cloud Rain Technique.
Having cultivated until late into the night and rising early to work the fields, Li Muyang's expression was somewhat weary.
Yet his eyes sparkled with excitement.
He hadn't risen so early out of diligence, but rather because he was too excited to sleep after mastering a real magic technique.
After a grueling half night of cultivation, he had finally mastered the Remnant Cloud Movement Technique.
Having fallen asleep groggily twice during the late night, Li Muyang woke up again as the sky started to brighten.
Unable to sleep, he thus rose early to water the spiritual fields.
Li Muyang, appearing unchanged, would reveal faint demonic patterns on his skin once he executed the Remnant Cloud Movement Technique.
With these sinister patterns enhancing him, Li Muyang's speed was terrifyingly fast.
If he ran at full speed, he could even leave a residual image behind him.
With such speed, there were hardly any among the outer disciples who could keep up.
Concealing such an ace up his sleeve, Li Muyang could not only walk horizontally in the outer sect but was also absolutely the first to slip away should anything happen.
Humming a cheerful tune and wielding the watering can, Li Muyang quickly completed his morning watering task.
The next watering would have to wait until the afternoon.
Looking at the ethereal spirit mist in the fields, Li Muyang tossed aside the watering can and sat on the ridge to rest.
The old tree on the ridge had now become Li Muyang's old companion.
He sat with his back against the trunk, nestled in the shade, feeling the morning mountain breeze caress his face, and closed his eyes.
The Game with the Fairies, begin!
Inside the dimly lit Stilted Building, Li Muyang opened his eyes.
The little girl on the bamboo bed had just fallen asleep, eyes closed.
Yet before Li Muyang's eyes, the choices for tonight emerged.
[I'm so sleepy... I'll sleep too, and ask about the monster tomorrow]
[The monster appearing in dreams... I seem to have heard of such things before, I can't sleep, what if the monster shows up while I'm asleep]
As Li Muyang unlocked the Assassin's information, the bedtime choice texts at night changed as well.
And, naturally, Li Muyang chose the second option.
Afterward, the light inside the room quickly shifted, the in-game time sped by as if the fast-forward button had been pressed.
The moonlight streaming through the window drifted away, vanishing bit by bit.
Finally, the first rays of the morning sun lit up the mountains, and the crowing of a rooster sounded in the village.
In just about ten seconds, the whole village fast-forwarded from deep night to dawn.
"Oh-oh-oh-oh!!!"
With the rooster's crowing, the once quiet village quickly stirred to life.
The little girl who had been sleeping on the bamboo bed sat up, rubbing her eyes.
"Big brother, good morning."
The little girl greeted him politely.
Two options floated into Li Muyang's view.
[(Ask her about the monster)]
[(Tell her to wash up and prepare breakfast for her)]
Naturally, Li Muyang chose the second one.
Having finally raised her goodwill, the natural course was to continue maintaining it.
The little girl actually thought well of him... He couldn't let his character role collapse now, he couldn't appear too eager.
```
Li Muyang got up and let the little girl wash up, then he opened the door of the Stilted Building, went out to the kitchen to start a fire, and cook porridge.
When Li Muyang returned to the Stilted Building with the steaming white porridge, the little girl timidly asked.
"Big brother, didn't you sleep last night?"
The little girl looked curious and a bit concerned, "There are so many bloodshot veins in your eyes."
Li Muyang glanced at the affection level bar in the upper right corner of his vision... still at 25, it hadn't increased.
But indeed, this was the first time Little Wild Grass had shown concern for him not sleeping after so many failures.
Li Muyang handed the hot porridge to the little girl and said, "Eat first, and then let's talk about that monster of yours."
"I was too scared to sleep last night, fearing the monster would come out to kill people while we were asleep."
Li Muyang's words made the little girl shrink her neck.
"No... it couldn't be, right?" The little girl nervously looked around and said, "There are so many powerful people in the village, the monster wouldn't dare to come in."
Li Muyang looked at this naive little girl, grinned without any warmth in his smile.
"Eat up, we'll talk after you're done."
As for whether that monster dares to come in... How would I not know, being the poor sod who's been killed hundreds of times!
Soon, the two of them finished the white porridge in their bowls, one after the other.
After finishing her meal, the little girl wiped her mouth and took the initiative to speak.
"The monster appeared after I was caught by a kidnapper and passed by a charity estate in Yazhou County."
"It often appears in my dreams, with two particularly thin and long legs, standing taller than the walls along the road. It wears a costume that only actors on stage wear, and its face is painted with a whitish substance."
"It has a total of seven hands and two mouths."
"It can't speak human language and makes a screeching, unpleasant noise that gives people a headache."
"The first time it appeared was at night; it suddenly jumped out from the woods beside the road trying to catch me, but the kidnapper drove it away with a red stick."
"After that, it didn't dare to show up in front of the kidnapper, instead, it frequently came to my dreams, chasing me there."
"I told the kidnapper, and he asked a granny to help me, but it was no use. The monster still appeared, only it chased me less often."
"Most of the time, it just stood far away in the woods watching me, and as I ran through the woods, I could never shake it off."
As the little girl spoke, she shrank her neck as if dreadful memories were being conjured up.
She cautiously looked at Li Muyang and said, "Now that the kidnapper is gone, but last night I slept without dreaming of it."
"It might have left, or it might still be outside waiting."
"So big brother, we can't leave the village for now. I'm afraid of the monster waiting for us outside..."
The little girl shared the information she knew.
Li Muyang, however, felt a chill run down his spine.
This thing... At first he thought it was a danger from within the village, but from the little girl's story, it was clear that she had encountered some filthy creature on the road.
Just the sound of it was terrifying.
The flavor of folk horror was at its peak.
As someone who's afraid of ghosts, Li Muyang was relieved that this developmental game was of the interactive galame type, not requiring him to fight himself.
Otherwise, fighting such a weird and evil thing would... cause Sanity to drop!
In Li Muyang's field of view, two options emerged.
[Let's go find Granny Gu in the village, who specializes in dealing with these things]
[Go find Manager Wu and ask him what to do]
Great! It was a brand-new plot that had never been triggered before!
It seemed there was finally a way to deal with the monster.
Li Muyang instantly got up and chose the first option.
"Let's go find Granny Gu, she's an expert in exorcism."
