Chapter 6: Chapter 6: First Choices
After figuring out roughly where he was in the Naruto timeline, Haruto let out a sigh mixed with relief and excitement. He was about a year to eighteen months before Naruto's birth, and still thirteen years before the start of the canon storyline. This gave him plenty of time to lay solid foundations, as long as he played his cards right and didn't slack off.
Haruto quickly locked himself in his room, eager to see what he could buy from the system's shop. A familiar interface appeared before him, displaying a single line:
"What do you want?"
After conducting some tests, Haruto quickly realized he could generally obtain whatever he wanted, as long as he paid the necessary points: objects, techniques, bloodlines, talents, creatures, and even resurrections or reincarnations. However, he soon noticed that objects and techniques from the Naruto universe were much more affordable compared to those from other worlds. Objects of similar levels from other realities could easily cost ten times more. He then speculated that the system might offer discounts for the worlds he visited or was currently in.
He also noticed that buying skills in cohesive packs was much more cost-effective than acquiring each skill individually. Among the options available to him, a few caught his attention:

--------------------------------------
Haruto was hesitant. Should he spend his 573 points on the Basic Genin Pack and improve his body, allowing him to ensure at least minimal protection and not be too vulnerable, knowing he wouldn't be able to do much against a real Genin with decades of experience without experience packs? Or should he invest them in Hana to accumulate faith points more quickly, especially since he might not be in that much danger after all?
His thoughts were interrupted by light knocks on the door.
"Who's there?" Haruto asked, straightening up.
A brief silence passed before a voice responded:
"It's me, Hiroshi. Can I speak to you privately?"
After Haruto gave his approval, Hiroshi entered, ensuring no one was lingering outside. He stepped lightly, gently closing the door behind him, and with palpable concern in his voice, murmured:
"Doctor, what do you think... of the condition of my wife and daughter? Please be honest with me."
Haruto took a deep breath, trying to adopt a serious expression. He cleared his throat, attempting to emphasize the importance of his words.
"Let's go with option two, then..." he thought inwardly, while maintaining his serious demeanor.
"I'll be honest with you, Hiroshi," he said in a calm, measured voice. "The situation is… delicate," he replied, weighing his words carefully. "They are in much worse condition than I initially expected. But there is still one way to save them."
Hiroshi clenched his fists, his shoulders tense under the weight of uncertainty.
"One way? Which one? I'm ready to do anything to save them. Just tell me what to do."
Haruto smiled enigmatically before responding in a measured tone:
"It may involve using... unconventional methods. Methods that many would consider unorthodox. But if you have faith in me, then together, we'll make it work."
As he tried to suppress a lecherous smile, he thought: Who said you can't have fun while being productive?
Hiroshi, though still worried, felt a slight sense of relief at the idea that a solution existed, however unusual it might be.
"What are these methods, Doctor? I want to know."
Haruto let the silence linger, considering the impact of his next words before murmuring almost conspiratorially:
"Practices that some would consider taboo. But they're effective, Hiroshi. The question is: how far are you willing to go to save your family?"
Hiroshi thought for a moment, then looked Haruto straight in the eyes, a new determination in his gaze.
"As far as necessary. Tell me what to do, and I'll do it."
Haruto smiled, satisfied with the answer.
You won't have to do anything, my little Hiroshi, he thought inwardly, a slight smirk forming.
"And what if we start now?" he said, clapping his hands, his voice soft but full of hidden implications.
