The First Vampire of YGGDRASIL

Chapter 3: "The new World"

"What the fuck!" thought Ash. That voice he heard just now... It was a beautiful, feminine voice. It sounded bright and much higher than Albedo's, almost as if it were from an angel himself. "Wait... Albedo can talk; she is an NPC, so she should not be able to!"

He looked around. He was still in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, but his HUD had disappeared, and he felt weird. So, he glanced at his hands. They were beautiful, white, delicate hands with not even a single flaw, and the nails were neatly filed to a point.

"They looked, without a doubt, female."

And then, without thinking further, he ran, ran through the throne room, ran through the big gate, and threw the hallways with just one thing in mind: "What the Fuck had happened?".

Finally, he stopped; before him was a door. Without thinking, he opened it and walked in. It was a luxurious room with gold and jewels everywhere. The high ceiling made it look even more noble; red seemed to be the preferred color, closely followed by black. After locking around, he found his object of obsession, a life-sized mirror. The edges were made of priceless wood, decorated with lines of gold. It was safe to say that even something like a simple mirror in this room was a piece of art.

He hesitated for a second, then stepped in front of the mirror. What he saw shocked him. In front of him stood a woman with snow white hair; her face was both mature and childish at the same time. Like her hair, even the eyebrows were white, and a black dress decorated her body up to her bosom. In addition, arm cuffs made of lace fabric decorated her pale arms. She looked more like a pretty doll than a girl. Her red eyes and slit pupils only enforced that feeling.

He raised his arm, only to be copied perfectly by the beauty in the mirror. He sighed and let himself fall into the big armchair in the room. So, it was as he thought. They weren't in a game anymore. Albedo's question was the proof of that. NPCs shouldn't be able to communicate like that. He also had not heard about an YGGDRASIL 2, and... he pinched his arm so hard. Blood was drawn. Pain—that was a feature not included in YGGDRASIL for various reasons. It was not possible to replicate a feeling like that with the current technological level, and even if it were, it would be illegal.

He looked at his arm. The wound and the blood had vanished. "So at least my body is working like it should be in the game." As a Primordial Vampire, his healing powers were the highest of any known species; even fire worked very poorly in addition to other vampires. That was because his class was a unique race class.

"If my regeneration is working, I should check if my other skills are working as intended."

He activated one of his favorite skills. A big pool of blood started to form; in front of him grew, and a son took shape, first of a humanoid, then it locked more and more like a girl. In front of him stood an exact copy of himself; it even wore the same-looking clothes, but the facial expression looked more neutral than his own. "Her own?" he thought. "Not now; I have time for that later." He shook his head. "That was only the first part of my ability! Let's see if the other one works as well!"

Slowly, he started to near himself and carefully stretched his arm out; the pale hand was only centimeters away. With a jerk, he crossed the last piece of distance and tried to activate his ability—a familiar feeling of drifting away, like falling asleep.

And all went Black.
