The Godslayer's Legacy

Chapter 7: Part 6: The First Encounter in Elyndra

The morning sky in Elyndra was golden, reflecting the warm sunlight onto the lush green valleys. In a small forest near the village of Altheria, five young people from different worlds began to gather, unaware that their fates were intertwined.

Kael was the first to arrive at what seemed to be the designated meeting spot. He sat on a large rock, fidgeting with the silver medallion in his hand.

"So, I'm just supposed to wait for random people to show up?" he muttered, glancing at the surrounding forest. "Great."

Not far from him, the sound of footsteps on leaves made him look up. Rowan appeared, carrying a small bag over his shoulder. The brown-haired, muscular man looked slightly confused but remained calm.

"You're here because of some weird artifact too, right?" Rowan asked, gesturing to the fiery bracelet around his wrist.

Kael nodded. "You one of the five Archeon mentioned?"

"Looks like it. I'm Rowan," he said, extending his hand.

"Kael," Kael replied curtly, shaking his hand.

Before the conversation could continue, another rustling sound came from the south. Ethan emerged, carrying a massive sword nearly as tall as himself. He looked tired, but his eyes were sharp and alert.

"Guess this is the meeting of misfits," Ethan said flatly, glancing at Kael and Rowan.

"Welcome to the club," Kael retorted sarcastically.

Ethan simply grunted and leaned against a nearby tree.

A few minutes later, two women arrived almost simultaneously from different directions. Lila, with long black hair and a glowing brush in her hand, seemed captivated by the scenery around her.

"This place is beautiful," she murmured before noticing the others. "Oh, you must be the group Archeon mentioned."

Meanwhile, Asha appeared quietly, holding a small spellbook that she seemed to carry everywhere.

"So, this is the world-saving team," she said with a skeptical tone.

The five young strangers looked at one another, realizing they were now a team, though none of them felt particularly thrilled about the situation.

"Is this some kind of joke?" Ethan finally spoke up. "I don't know who you are, but I'm not the type to work with strangers."

"Same here," Rowan added, glancing at Kael. "I prefer working alone."

Kael let out a long sigh. "Look, I don't like this either, but it seems we don't have a choice. This world is in danger, and we have to do something."

"And you think you're the one to lead us?" Asha asked, her tone sharp as she eyed Kael.

"Someone has to take the initiative," Kael replied without hesitation.

Before the tension could escalate, a loud rumbling noise came from the sky. They looked up to see a large circle of light forming above them. From it, Archeon appeared, floating with an aura of authority.

"Good, you're all here," he said. "You are Elyndra's last hope. It's time for you to accept that."

Kael squinted up at him. "How can we trust you? You brought us here without warning or consent."

"Whether you trust me or not is your decision," Archeon replied. "But the darkness known as Zerathis has risen. If it's not stopped, this world will be destroyed. You were chosen by the gods to bear their powers and take on this mission."

"And if we refuse?" Rowan asked.

Archeon looked at each of them with a piercing gaze. "Refusing means surrendering Elyndra to darkness. Millions of lives depend on you."

Lila stepped forward, her voice soft but resolute. "If we accept this task, what do we need to do?"

"Scattered across Elyndra are five pillars of darkness that must be destroyed. Each pillar is a source of Zerathis' power, guarded by shadow creatures. You must work together to destroy these pillars."

Archeon extended his hand, and five glowing objects appeared in the air: a sword, a fiery bracelet, a glowing brush, a spellbook, and a silver medallion.

"The power of the gods lies within these objects. Use them wisely."

The five young people exchanged glances, realizing they had no other choice. Though they were hesitant and far from trusting one another, they ultimately agreed to take on the task.

"Fine," Ethan said, gripping his sword tighter. "If this is what we have to do, then I'll do it."

"At least this will be an interesting adventure," Lila added with a faint smile.

"Let's get started," Kael said seriously. "If we're going to do this, we need to do it right."

Archeon gave a faint smile. "Good. Your journey begins now. The first pillar lies in the shadowed forest to the west. But remember, this journey will test your strength, courage, and heart."

With that, Archeon vanished, leaving the five young people who now had to work together to face their destiny.
