Chapter 11: Decisive confrontation
As Larios and Ilan stealthily moved through the dense forest, Larios noticed one of the gang members hiding among the trees, trying to observe them unnoticed. No one else was aware of his presence, but Larios reacted quickly, grabbing him from behind.
"What are you doing here?" Larios asked in a low voice, holding the man firmly.
The man tried to resist, but he was no match for Larios's strength. Without any warning, Larios stepped closer and drew his dagger. He began torturing him, pulling off his nails one by one, forcing the man to give him information.
"You'll pay the price for this," Larios said coldly, continuing his brutal act.
The man screamed in pain, then, after a moment, spoke with a bitter smile: "We've been watching you for a long time. After my partner left for the gang, we saw our chance."
Suddenly, the man attempted to fight back, pushing himself forward in an attempt to escape. But Larios was faster, and with a swift blow, he incapacitated the man, leaving him unconscious on the ground.
"You can't run. There's nowhere for you to hide," Larios said with confidence as he looked down at the fallen man.
At this moment, Ilan stood beside Larios, shocked and horrified by the brutal method Larios had used.
"Why did you do that?" Ilan asked, still in disbelief. "Where did you learn that? It's a cruel way to fight!"
Larios remained silent, his eyes cold. After a brief pause, he replied in a low voice, "Sometimes, we don't have the luxury of mercy
The atmosphere was thick with tension in the open battlefield. On one side, stood Kasan, a giant warrior with immense strength, launching his attacks on Larious and Ilan. He used the ground to his advantage, raising rocks from the earth and throwing them rapidly at his opponents, causing Ilan to retreat again and again.
Ilan attempted to use hot water magic to block Kasan's attacks, but the overwhelming power of his opponent rendered all his efforts futile. Over time, Larious also began to feel helpless against Kasan's immense strength, unable to deal with the forceful blows.
The Intervention of Andrius
At the critical moment, when it seemed that the battle would be lost to Kasan, a massive figure appeared from afar. It was Andrius, a hulking warrior with bulging muscles and a huge sword. Unlike his opponents, Andrius didn't rely on elemental magic, instead, he relied on his raw physical strength.
Andrius spoke calmly as he raised his sword: "I'll handle this now."
Andrius rushed toward Kasan, and their swords clashed in a powerful strike. Though Kasan resisted, Andrius's strength was evident in every blow. With each attack, Kasan struggled more to block the hits.
: Kasan's Defeat
In a decisive moment, Andrius launched a surprise attack, striking Kasan with his massive sword with full force, causing Kasan to stumble back in shock. Despite Kasan's attempts to fight back, Andrius grew stronger and more determined.
"Are you still trying to fight?" Andrius said as he dealt Kasan a final blow. In a flash, Kasan collapsed to the ground, unable to continue resisting.
: The Escape Attempt
Despite his defeat, Kasan tried to escape. He crawled away from Andrius, attempting to flee from his fate. When Andrius saw Kasan trying to run, he paused for a moment and said sarcastically: "Do you really think you can run after everything that's happened?"
Andrius rushed toward him, grabbed him, and swiftly ended his life with a single blow, cutting off his head.
The Reconnaissance Team's Meeting
After Andrius dealt with Kasan, the reconnaissance team gathered in a safe place to discuss what had just happened. Larious, Ilan, and Andrius stood together, contemplating the battle they had just fought. At the same time, there was a sense of unease because they knew that one battle was not enough.
Andrius smiled and said, "The mission is complete, but don't expect this to be the end. More is coming."
Larious replied, staring at the ground, "Yes, this was just the beginning. We need to prepare for what's ahead."
Ilan added, "Let's assume there are more enemies trying to trap us. We need to be careful."
Sending Kasan's Body to the Fang of the Night
In a harsh step, Andrius tied Kasan's body to his horse and sent it to the "Fang of the Night" camp, sending a clear message to their enemies: "We won't let anyone trespass on our land without paying the price."
Confronting Harok
After sending Kasan's body, the team gathered again, but this time, the discussion turned to their leader, Harok, who was preparing to attack the reconnaissance team.
At that moment, one of Harok's assistants approached and said, "Tell your leader we need to talk before we take any further steps."
Harok laughed and said, "There's nothing to talk about. If they have the courage to fight us, then let them come, but they will pay the price."
His assistant replied, "But perhaps we can recruit Andrius into our ranks. He seems like a powerful warrior."
Harok hesitated for a moment before saying, "Send them to the hill. We'll meet there."
The Conclusion
As tensions rose, Andrius, Larious, and Ilan stood ready. The battle that had just begun might be more intense than they expected, but they were prepared to face any challenge.
"This won't end here, enemies. We will stand firm," said Andrius.
With those words, the chapter came to a close, but the real battle had yet toa close, but the real battle had yet to begin.
