The Kryptonian: Reborn in Marvel as Bruce Wayne

Chapter 6: Chapter Six: Mastering the Basics

The training began with the fundamentals.

The Ancient One stood before me in the Mirror Dimension, her calm demeanor a stark contrast to the otherworldly chaos around us. "Every sorcerer begins with the basics," she said. "Astral projection, Tao Mandalas, and the manipulation of the Mirror Dimension itself. These will form the foundation of your abilities. Begin."

She gestured for me to sit cross-legged, and I followed suit, focusing my breathing as she instructed. The first lesson was astral projection.

"Separate your soul from your physical form," she explained, walking around me with her hands clasped behind her back. "This requires control, focus, and above all, trust in yourself."

I closed my eyes and concentrated. At first, nothing happened, but then I felt a strange tug, like my consciousness was being pulled upward. When I opened my eyes again, I was looking down at my own body.

"Impressive," she said, though her tone remained neutral. "Few achieve this on their first attempt."

"Yeah, well," I said from my astral form, "I'm full of surprises."

"And yet, unlike my other students you become full of yourself when learning. Let's move on to the Tao Mandalas. Tao Mandalas can be used by the Masters of the Mystic Arts to attack opponents or create shields to defend." She demonstrated, forming intricate, glowing shields of energy with a flick of her wrists. "The Mandalas are an extension of your will," she said. "Focus your intent, and they will manifest as weapons, shields, or tools."

I mimicked her movements, and after a few failed attempts, golden discs shimmered to life in my hands. They were smaller than hers, and not as stable, but they were there. I flicked my wrist and the shield got bigger.

"Good," she said, nodding. "Now, shape them into something else."

I thought for a moment and focused on reshaping the Mandalas into a fan. This made her roll her eyes before we moved on to her final lesson. The Mirror Dimension itself.

"The Mirror Dimension is a parallel dimension that allows the user train more advanced and dangerous spells without adversely affecting the real world, it can also serve as a prison for those without a Sling Ring." she said. "This is both a tool and a weapon. Master it, and you control the battlefield."

The Ancient One regarded me with a mixture of approval and caution. "You've learned quickly, as expected," she said. "But that is all I will teach you."

I hesitated. "That's it? What about more advanced spells? Or relics?"

She raised an eyebrow. "I'm aware of your… unique approach to learning."

I winced, realizing what she meant. While in the library I had Alfred scan the pages of the books I read to create a digital copy that I was going to have him rebuild the books and store them in a virtual library. Though it also meant that I might have looked through the Ancient Ones little collection, I mean like Won said, they were not actually forbidden books... and it wasn't like any of the other sorcerors thought I would understand any of what was in them.

"Indeed," she said, folding her arms. "I trust you to use that knowledge wisely, though I reserve the right to intervene if you misuse it."

I nodded, sheepish. "Fair enough. My bad."

As she turned to leave, she added, almost as an afterthought, "And Bruce?"

"Yeah?"

"I will allow you to borrow the relics you took. When you are done, please return them." And with that she left me in the mirror dimension.

As I stepped through the sling ring's portal, Alfred, greeted me immediately.

"Welcome back, Master Wayne," Alfred said in his polished, British accent. "I see you've acquired a few... trinkets."

I chuckled, setting down the relics I'd brought from Kamar-Taj: the Staff of the Living Tribunal, the Vaulting Boots of Valtorr, and the Eye of Agamotto. Relics that were introduced in Dr. Strange, though I had descovered three interesting relics that I couldn't help but take as well.

The Spear of Watoomb, was a long golden bident that had could not only return back to your hand but duplicate leaving a copy of the spear that would explode.

Bracers of Eltanin, were made from some red metal that could absorb and redirect magical or physical attacks. So basically they worked just like Wonder Womans bracers... but with magic.

Arm Wraps of Ikthalon, shimmering with frost-like patterns, granting the ability to manipulate cold and ice in combat.

And lastly the Sash of Agamotto, a long red sash that amplified the wearer's focus and stabilized their energy output for high-complexity spells.

"Run a full diagnostic and categorize any latent spells these items might hold."

"As you wish, Master Bruce," Alfred replied.

I placed my supersuit on the central table and ordered Alfred to bring up scanned pages from the mystical texts I'd 'borrowed' from Kamar-Taj. "Pull up defensive enchantments and material-binding spells. Oh, and play my work playlist."

Moments later, the first chords of AC/DC's Back in Black filled the lab. I grinned. Perfect choice.

With the music fueling my focus, I got to work. I pricked my finger and let a few drops of blood fall onto the armor. Using a bonding spell from the books, I fused the suit to my genetic signature, allowing the suit to be bonded to me and allow me to call on it whenever I want.

Next, I channeled magic into the vibranium as I set a couple spells that would inhance the metals self-repairing and increasing its durability. The matte black surface gleamed under the lab lights as I enchanted it to shift its colors at my command. The blue and red will be my norm and the black suit will be on very important missions... or whenever I want to look cool.

Alfred's voice broke through the music. "Master Bruce, might I suggest additional enhancement to your helmet's systems? A spell to allow you to use Heat Vision withought destroying the mask."

"Already on it," I replied, adding the augmentation to the helmet.

Once the upgrades were complete, I used the Fortress's matter replicator to create perfect duplicates of each relic. The machine scanned the materials and their unique properties, creating non-magical copies I could then imput not only their original spells but some of my own. The originals would soon be returned.

The temptation to take the Time Stone from the Eye of Agamotto was there, but I brushed it aside. For now, it was safer in Strange's hands—or soon-to-be hands. Besides, I'd already had information on the time manipulation spells.

If needed, I could replicate and learn the spell on my own. Since I now had a duplicate of the neclace I could gather all the invinity stones and store it into the necklace and use a spell that stored the stones and swapped out what one was in the necklace... or I could change the design of the neclace to have six eyes.

With everything complete, I activated the sling ring and opened portals to return the relics. When I turned back to the table, I placed my hand on the suit, and it dissolved into my body like some liquid shadow. With a thought, the suit materialized on my body, now for my little add ones.

After setting the original spells on the duplicate relics I picked up the Sash of Agamotto, wrapping it around my waist, and donned the Arm Wraps of Ikthalon and Bracers of Eltanin. The final look was sleek, made me look like a fusion of Strange and Superman.

"And now.. for the final peice." I touched behind my ears and my helmet appeard, covering my head as the HUD display activated. "Alfred run a diognosis on the suit."

"Everything is running perfectly, Master Bruce."

The lab doors slid open. Alice, Eleanor, and Richard entered, their conversation halting the moment they saw me.

Alice was the first to speak, her voice a mixture of awe and exasperation. "What in the world, Bruce?"

Richard let out a low whistle. "That's... intense."

Eleanor crossed her arms, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "So, have you decided on a Hero name yet?"

The helmet retracted, revealing my smirk. "Superman"
