Chapter 1: Awakening of the Spiral
The airy light of the early morning spilled over the valley of Aetheria, a magical village hidden among the mountains, known for hosting one of the most prestigious martial arts tournaments in the region. Kai stood at the edge of a stone plateau, watching as the wind carried leaves around him. He was tall for his age, with messy black hair and a spiral-shaped scar on his right arm, which occasionally flickered with a golden glow. Although he didn't know the true origin of the scar, he felt it connected him to something much greater than the simple life in the village.
Kai took a deep breath and clenched his fists. Today was his moment—the day when he would show everyone that he wasn't just an orphan with no past. The tournament was his chance to prove himself and draw attention to who he really was.
"Still here, Kai? The tournament starts in less than an hour!" yelled an older man from a distance. It was Daisuke, his mentor and the closest thing to a father figure in his life. With a graying beard and eyes that carried the wisdom of many battles, Daisuke had been a legendary fighter in his youth, now living a quiet life in the village.
"I'm just getting ready, Daisuke," Kai replied with a smile. "This time, I'll win."
Daisuke laughed and shook his head. "Winning isn't always the most important thing, boy. Remember—control over the Ether comes from the heart, not from the desire for fame."
Kai nodded, though he didn't entirely understand what the old master meant. In his mind, winning was everything. It had to be. He was tired of being seen as just another kid.

The Tournament in the Valley
The plateau in the center of the village was filled with people. Wooden bleachers were adorned with colorful flags, and the sound of drums announced the beginning of the tournament. Local families, traveling merchants, and fighters from neighboring villages filled the space with energy and anticipation.
Kai stood with the other participants, sizing up his rivals. Most of them were older and more experienced. His gaze lingered on a tall, muscular man with intricate tattoos along his arms. It was Gorath, a well-known fighter from the northern villages, famous for his ruthless tactics.
"Are you the kid they say has luck on his side?" Gorath approached Kai, his deep voice threatening. "Luck won't save you when you face me."
Kai smiled and crossed his arms. "We'll see who has the luck. I'm ready."
Gorath growled, but before he could say more, the gong signaled the start of the first fight. Kai was in the third match, but he could feel his heart pounding as the other fighters entered the arena and displayed their skills.

Kai's First Fight
As Kai stepped into the arena, the crowd fell silent. His opponent was an older man with a beard, known for his special wind manipulation technique. Kai took his combat stance, focusing on the Ether swirling around his body.
"Start!" shouted the referee.
The old man attacked first, sending sharp gusts of wind toward Kai. Kai evaded the strikes with grace, occasionally retaliating with quick blows. His right arm began to glow as the scar pulsed. Then, without warning, a huge surge of energy erupted from his hand, creating a golden wave that sent the opponent flying several meters backward.
The crowd exploded into applause and shocked exclamations.
"What was that?" people whispered in the audience.
Kai stood in disbelief, looking at his hand. He had never experienced such power before.

An Unexpected Threat
After the fight, while Kai tried to understand what had just happened, a dark cloud appeared on the horizon. The crowd stopped, and the wind grew cold. In an instant, a silence engulfed the village. A man in black armor, with a crimson cloak and eyes glowing like embers, appeared in the center of the plateau.
"Give me what I seek, and I might spare you," he said in a deep, ominous voice.
"Who are you?" one of the older fighters shouted.
"I am Zorak," the stranger replied. "And I have come for the Ethereal Sphere that lies in this village."
People began to panic, but Daisuke stepped forward, standing in front of Zorak. "You have nothing to seek here. Return to where you came from."
Zorak smiled, and dark Ether began to leak from his body. "If you do not give me the sphere, I will destroy this village."
Kai leaped forward, standing defiantly beside Daisuke. "You won't take anything!"
"Ah, young fighter," Zorak said, smirking. "You're so brave… yet so weak."
With a single motion of his hand, Zorak sent a wave of dark Ether toward Kai. Just before it hit him, the scar on his arm glowed again, creating a golden shield that deflected the attack. Everyone stared in shock.
"Interesting," Zorak said, grinning wickedly. "You're no ordinary boy."

End of Chapter
Zorak vanished in a cloud of black mist, leaving the village in chaos. Daisuke approached Kai, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We need to talk, Kai. Your scar... and the power you possess... they're not by chance."
Kai swallowed hard, feeling his heart racing with both excitement and fear. "What does that mean?"
"It means," Daisuke said seriously, "that your destiny is just beginning."
