The Life of a Villain Healer

Chapter 19: Ch 19: Hiring

Brianna's POV

"LEON!!!" I heard someone call my son, when I looked back and saw a young boy, possibly my son's age. "..Rodan." I heard my don muttered, I then looked at my son, 'Ho.. would you look at that'. I have never seen my son, look at someone like that other than me.

I looked at the young boy again, and I must say, he's handsome. 'When he grows up, he'll break many girls' hearts.' Rodan is a strikingly handsome boy with vibrant green hair that glints in the sunlight and warm, golden eyes that seem to glow with joy.

His white t-shirt, neatly tucked into his khaki shorts, showcases his cheerful and well-put-together demeanor. Beige sneakers complete his casual yet charming outfit, perfect for a day filled with adventure.

As he greets Leon, his face lights up with an enthusiastic smile, his hand raised high in a friendly wave. His energy is infectious, and his excitement is palpable as he runs up to Leon, exclaiming a cheerful "Hi!" that instantly brightens the moment.

"How have you been, Leon?" Rodan said. My son answered with a huff, and looked behind. "You idiot, of course I'll be fine. We saw each other the other day, you're so stupid." In return to that comment, Rodan just smiled more happily. Even though Leon said that, I can see his lips pointing upwards. 'Haha.. kids'.

"Are you Leon's mother?" I heard a cold voice say, I looked towards that voice and couldn't believe who it was, 'Valerie Ignis!' "Ah yes, yes. Did my son do anything?" I stood up, and walked towards her. Did my son offend her? Gosh, what do I do??

Perhaps, Valerie noticing my distress asked me to calm down. "Relax, Madame. I'm not here to look for a fight." Then.. what could she possibly need my son for? As if she knew what I was thinking she continued by saying, "My son here—" she stopped and pointed at Rodan, "wants to invite your kid to our house." Wait hold up, RODAN my son's friend, is THE SON of THE Valerie Ignis. 'HOLY GUACAMOLE!'

Snapping out of my thoughts, I answered her "Oh, it's alright with me. Though, the answer depends on Leon." She nodded and whispered something to Rodan, "Oh! I got it, Mom!" He said.

She then turned to me, "If you don't mind me asking, could I ask for your name?" She asked, of course I told her my name, and when I did, her widened. 'W-Why's her reaction like that? I didn't kill a person right? Right?' With these thoughts swirling in my mind, she finally said the reason.

"Are you looking for a job right now, Ms. Caleine?" This time, it was my eyes that widened. How could she know about this? She didn't investigate about me, right? Looking at her suspiciously, and perhaps being embarrassed, she coughed and said, "It's not what you're thinking, Ms. Caleine."

'As if I'll believe that!' I mentally shouted at her, "It really isn't. My (future) wife and I, are looking for a magic professor for my son." Oh! It's about that! 'Phew' and wife, huh? You zesty, zesty woman.

"And I guess that I'm one of the candidates you were looking for?" She nodded, 'hm.. is God pitying me, and sent me this wonderful opportunity?' I asked myself. I still need to ask some questions about my salary, and possibly other benefits. "You don't have to worry about your salary, Ms. Caleine. Your monthly salary is 10,000 Entos." DANG, THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY, but I still have to commute, no?

"You also have the option of living close to our house, all covered. So that you won't be burdened by commuting." DID THIS WOMAN JUST READ MY MIND? How–? Yeah. She must be a monster.

"Though, there is something you must know, if you'll live in that house." She calmly said. Okay now I'm scared, what does she mean by that?? "You'll be living with someone in that cottage." Oh, OH! It's not that bad. "Sure, everything works for me. When should I start?"

I saw her and smiled and said, "Welcome aboard, Ms. Caleine. You can start in 3 days." We shook each other's hands, and walked towards each of our kids. 'Looks like my prayers have been answered'.
