Chapter 10: chapter 8
Recap;:-
finally got through to him with my talk, and he accepted to leave me be for now and be with his new chosen mate while I continue at school and, I think if I'm going to ever forgive him, at least that's what he thinks. What Jordan doesn't know is I Epiphany Cyra never goes back to my vomit and he, right now, is my vomit. I can just pick it up and lick it, I will throw it away. I've made up my mind, and I am giving myself one week to round up everything I'm doing in this pack, and I've also made up my mind I will leave CRESCENT HOWL PACK in one week.
Flash back ends:-
"When do you leave?"
"In one week Sarah"
"Yes!"

Crya's pov
Ever since I told Sarah about my plans, she has just made it her duty to fill as many days as she can with the experiences I have never had in my 18 years of life. Like today, we're going for a driving test from school to the town where wolves and humans live.
It had been approximately up to fifteen minutes of driving down the straight road. The sun had completely gone down the horizon, darkening our surroundings and leaving us with only the golden headlights lighting up our path.
I couldn't help the shift in my focus from the road to my arms in front of me as my hands gripped down on the steering wheel. It was still hard for me to fathom that those same arms which were once bruised and darkened by these pack members and now unscathed, are flawless because of my wolf. I should thank her for it. I mentally sighed "You're welcome, you should know we're one, and I can't have myself looking like an unkept creature."
I just laughed at her crazy sense of humor and she laughed too.
I moved my gaze from my arms back to the road as my foot stepped on the accelerator, trying to close the distance between me and Sarah's other friend, Antonio, who was leading the way.
I could finally see some civilization peeking out from the edge. My eyes moved up to the rear-view mirror to assure myself that one of Sarah's pack mates, Persephone, was still following behind before I caught my reflection. Even after seeing myself countless times, it still caught me off-guard. Looking in the mirror, I found it hard to believe I had gone through all that torture and no marks.
Civilization really looks good, but I still prefer packed land. After driving for what felt like hours and minutes, we decided to head back, but not before eating something. We went to this restaurant close to the place I worked to eat. I quit the job just yesterday in order to move on.
I already knew that the servers here were humans and the amount of food a wolf eats was going to take some minutes to get our order ready and, with that in mind, I decided to lay my head down to see if I could sleep a bit. And sleep I did.
There were multiple occasions where my mind slipped beyond the barriers of unconsciousness to my surroundings and sometimes to the quiet whispers, this time yet again waking up to gentle murmurs. I kept myself as relaxed as I could, still posing to be asleep as 1 put an ear to his conversation.
"You fu***ing know I don't have time, Michael-" silence sounded as Michael spoke on the other end, "I'll be dead by then." He ended the call without warning before tossing the phone ferociously behind him.
"You don't have to pretend to be asleep, Miss Crya." His words were unexpectedly calm.
"I don't have to," I shifted in my seat and faced his direction fully, surprisingly feeling refreshed and relaxed, "It's not like I'm scared of you." That was not entirely true, but neither was it false. By now I understood that whatever I wanted, it required me getting it and that would only make him think twice about eliminating to him from me.
He let out a low, throaty laugh, "of course, you're not."
Antonio is one of Sarah's friends and also a warrior in their pack. Apparently, Sarah told her Alpha she'd be going out of town with me, and he thought two girls going out alone would be a bad idea, so he sent not just one but three warriors who happened to be Sarah's friends to take us.
One of them was Antonio, then Persephone and Felix. I never knew women could be warriors until I saw Persephone. I can still remember the introduction Sarah gave me to them. One wouldn't call it an introduction, but rather an announcement.
1hr 45mins ago:;-
Sitting down in the cafeteria eating my fries, I heard
"Hey bestie! These are Antonio, Felix and Persephone. They are my friends and warriors of our pack"
"That's it?" I questioned.
"Oh! They will be coming with us today and teaching you how to drive, I guess."
"Wow! That's some sort of introduction, Sarah."
"They can do that themselves. Don't stress me, please"
Persephone is a 5ft6 girl with brown eyes and voluminous, chestnut-colored curls, with loose waves or tight coils, or somewhere in between I can really tell. While Felix is 6ft, I can't really tell how tall he is, but I know he's 6ft, with hazel eyes, auburn hair color and I guess he goes to the gym almost every day, because he is very muscular. He looks like an iron man! Athletics. While Antonio looks...
"Hi am Persephone, this is my mate Felix," Persephone said, interrupting my thoughts while shaking me. I also shook Felix as well and gave both of them a smile. I then turned to the 6ft muscular hunk chunk of meat that would put Jordans' to shame green eyes, black hair if I was poetic in describing things I would say "His hair was woven from the black heavens, fine strands of spacetime and starlight" but am not poetic. I expected him to introduce himself as the others did, but he just said "Antonio", waved his hand and sat directly opposite to me.
I just hummed OK and made a mental note to be mindful of him in the future.
Now:;-
After our meal came, we all ate in silence. We finished our food and when I looked around I recovered it was getting dark. Maybe it's because nobody is making a move to leave. That's why I sat with them saying nothing other than watching. Sarah was the active one when it came to talking. She was talking to me and everyone at the same time, while me, the non-active one, just nodded, smiled and mumbled and OK when needed. After 45 minutes of sitting, we decided to go home.
"Bestie, so you won't be driving back home"
"What!"
"Some pack members took the other car, so we'll be joining Antonio in his."
When I gave a look at them, if I didn't understand, she explained further, "when you're sleeping I saw a female pack member who's pregnant and needed the car instead of walking home, so I gave them the key."
"Ok"
Sometimes I think Sarah acts like a Luna or maybe someone with higher power. I shook the idea off. How can she be a person with power? She's my best friend and if she says she is an omega, then she is. I can't start now to second guess that.
"If you guys are coming with me, come now, I've got something else to do before I take her home" a baritone voice said from behind us, moving towards his car. I can now safely say Antonio is really a man of few words.
I often found myself stirring through the window sill, staring out into the world, now being one of those times. The moon was shining extra bright it seemed tonight. It was lovely.
The night breeze felt nice on my skin swell.
Master Antonio had allowed me to open the window after hours of trying to open it, and he shut it back up. When I asked why he did, he said I am supposed to beg for things I don't have. So, after a few more minutes of being strong-willed, I finally broke down and begged him, to which he ignored and when I finally gave up on begging him, he opened it.
He said that he had a delivery that needed to be picked up. I've been hoping for the past minute that Sarah would please either stop talking or stop chewing gum. One needs to stop, but I can't tell her that it's going to break her heart, so I opted to endure. His 9 hours were almost up. I remember him saying he only had 9 hours to spare before his shift started.
I let out a long breath, scooting closer to the edge, letting the faint sound of the rustling leaves below fill my mind instead. I held my legs towards my chest, letting them hold my weight, that would no doubt. Leave me in pain. Not that it really mattered. Pretty much everything around me could lead to a lot of pain.
"We're here". Antonio said
I looked out through the window at the most amazing forest house I've ever seen.
Nestled deep within the towering pines, the house stood like a forgotten secret, its weathered wooden beams cloaked in a thick mantle of moss. Moon light filtered through the dense canopy above, casting dappled shadows that danced across the forest floor. The roof, sagging slightly under the weight of years, was a patchwork of dark shingles, some missing, revealing glimpses of the sky.
A narrow path, overgrown with ferns and wildflowers, wound its way to the front door, which creaked softly on its rusty hinges, as if reluctant to break the silence of the woods. The windows, framed by peeling paint, were dusted with cobwebs, and the glass panes reflected the vibrant greens and browns of the surrounding flora.
Inside, time seemed to stand still. The air was cool and fragrant, filled with the scent of cedar and damp earth. Dust motes floated lazily in the shafts of light that broke through the gaps in the curtains. The wooden floorboards groaned underfoot, telling tales of countless footsteps that had traversed their surface. A stone fireplace dominated one wall, its hearth cold and empty, waiting for the warmth of a crackling fire.
In the corners, shadows lingered, harboring whispers of the past—framed photographs of smiling faces long gone and books with yellowed pages, their stories waiting to be rediscovered. Outside, the wind rustled through the leaves, creating a symphony of nature that wrapped around the house like a protective embrace, guarding its secrets and inviting the curious to explore.
I stood by the door we went through, still mesmerized by the house, while Antonio went about his business.
"Let go," Antonio said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"But we just came. Why are we going?" I asked.
"One, We've been here for more than 5 minutes, and he has gotten what he needed to get". This time it was Sarah that talked.
"Let's get you home, we have summer solstice tomorrow, and it's happening in Alpha Nolan's pack. Do you know how far that is? You need to get your beauty sleep before then".
"Yes, ma'am, but wait, I don't have anything to wear".
"Don't worry, I got you"
It took us 10 minutes to get the pack land because they are not from our pack. They would need the alpha's permission to get in, and I would want to stress them that much.
"Run along, bestie". Sarah shouted while I ran towards the border.
"I am not a dog, but bye" I shouted back.
It took me 5 mins at maximum speed to get to the pack house, only to encounter another problem waiting for me, Jordan.
"Where have you been…?" "Not now Jordan, I'm tired."
I left him where he was standing gaping like a dead fish frozen out of water. I went to my room, washed myself and laid now.
Summer solstice
It was the Summer Solstice. The only night of the year when all the werewolf packs of our region come together to celebrate the beginning of the packs. Only adult pack members have access to the celebrations, and Sarah and I each turned eighteen a few months ago. We passed the final examinations just in time to join the rest of our pack members.
Most werewolves regard The Summer Solstice as a formal event, a time for the packs to mingle in peace.
But that will not stop Sarah and me from fully indulging in our newfound freedom. With that thought in mind, I finally slept off.
