Chapter 6: Part 6
This wasn't just a date; it felt like the beginning of something extraordinary.
The elevator doors opened to reveal a stunning rooftop setup.
A gentle breeze carried the faint scent of fresh flowers, and the twinkling city lights stretched far into the distance.
Lisa's eyes widened as she took in the sight—a private dining area adorned with fairy lights and lanterns.
A single table was set beneath a pergola draped with sheer white fabric, offering an intimate yet luxurious ambiance.
"Canary…" Lisa's voice trailed off, her expression a mix of surprise and admiration.
Canary stepped beside her, his hands casually in his pockets. "You like it?"
" Like it? This is… incredible." She turned to him, her eyes shining. "You didn't have to do all this."
"I know," he said softly, a gentle smile playing on his lips. "But I wanted to."
Before she could respond, a waiter approached, dressed impeccably in black and white. "Mr. Anderson, Miss Lisa, welcome. Your table is ready."
Lisa followed Canary as he guided her to the table. The setting was even more breathtaking up close—candles flickered in delicate holders, and the table was set with fine china and crystal glasses.
Canary pulled out a chair for her. "After you."
She sat down, still trying to process the effort he'd put into planning this evening.
As he took his seat across from her, Lisa looked at him, her voice tinged with curiosity. "Do you always go this far to impress people?"
Canary leaned back with a sly grin. "Not people. Just you."
She shook her head, trying to suppress a smile. "You're impossible."
"And yet, here you are," he replied, his eyes locking.
" Now I understand why girls like you so much.." Lisa snapped.
" If that's so it's just because I am handsome. I have never done so much for a girl before." He said.
Soon the delicious food and drinks were served to them and Canary let her feel free for eat.
After the sumptuous dinner, Canary poured two glasses of champagne for them and raised his glass for a toast.
" To us !" He spoke huskily.
Lisa just smiled back n and toasted with him.
They were just like that when Lisa heard soft music play from the background.
Lisa looked up to see a small live band setting up at the far end of the rooftop, their instruments catching the golden glow of the lanterns.
A melodic tune filled the space, the combination of piano and strings creating a romantic harmony that seemed to resonate in the air. Lisa leaned back in her chair, a contented smile on her lips.
"Impressive," she said, glancing at Canary. "You even planned live music?"
Canary shrugged with a playful grin. "I might have pulled a few strings. Literally."
Lisa laughed, but her smile faltered slightly as he rose from his seat and extended a hand toward her. "Dance with me."
Her eyes widened. "Here? Now?"
"Why not?" He stepped closer, his hand still outstretched. "The night's too perfect to let it slip away."
Lisa hesitated, glancing around, but the intimate setting offered no prying eyes—just the soft glow of lanterns and the music wrapping around them like a warm embrace.
Taking a deep breath, she placed her hand in his, and he led her to the open space near the band.
Canary's hand settled gently at her waist, while his other held hers firmly yet tenderly.
Lisa placed her free hand on his shoulder, her nerves melting away as they swayed to the rhythm of the song.
"You're full of surprises tonight," she murmured, her eyes meeting his.
"I told you, Lisa," he said, his voice low and steady. "I want tonight to be unforgettable."
The band transitioned to a slower melody, the music flowing like a quiet confession.
Canary spun her gently before pulling her close, the space between them shrinking. Lisa could feel the warmth of his touch, the steady beat of his heart against her palm.
For a moment, the world seemed to dissolve—the rooftop, the city, everything but the two of them.
Lisa tilted her head up to meet his gaze, and the tenderness in his eyes made her heart ache.
"You're making this very hard," she whispered.
"Hard?" he asked softly, leaning in just slightly.
" To pretend none of this is real," she admitted, her voice barely audible over the music.
Canary smiled, his forehead brushing lightly against hers. "Then stop pretending, Lisa."
As the final notes of the song lingered in the air, the distance between them vanished.
"Lisa," he said gently, his voice low and warm. "Do you know what you mean to me?"
She blinked, her breath catching. "Canary, I—"
He shook his head, a small, almost wistful smile curving his lips. "From the moment I met you, everything changed. You make me see the world differently—brighter, fuller. You make me… better."
Lisa felt her heart swell, her hand tightening slightly on his shoulder.
His words wrapped around her like the music, soft and intoxicating.
Her eyes searched his, her lips parting slightly as she tried to form a response, but no words came. The look in his eyes—intense yet tender—took her breath away.
"Lisa," he murmured, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You don't have to say anything. Just let me show you."
Before she could speak, he leaned in, closing the distance between them. His lips met hers softly, tenderly, as though he was afraid the moment might shatter if he rushed it.
Lisa's eyes fluttered closed, her hand slipping from his shoulder to rest against his chest.
The kiss was warm, slow, and filled with unspoken emotions—his promise, his desire, and the depth of what he felt for her.
When they finally pulled apart, the band's music had faded into the background, replaced by the quiet hum of the city and the sound of their breaths mingling.
He pulled back slightly, just enough to see her face, and a smile spread across his own.
" I love you Lisa.."
" I love you too Canaey.." She resonated.
They laughed softly, the tension between them melting into something warm and undeniably real.
Afterwards Canaru drove Lisa back home.
