Chapter 14: Chapter 13 :[Hinata l]
Naruto leaped down from the tree, landing softly on the forest floor. Pretending not to notice, he began gathering up his training supplies, keeping an ear out for the faint rustle of leaves that always gave her away.
Sure enough, a soft movement behind a nearby bush confirmed she was watching.
Without turning, Naruto spoke. "You can come out, Hinata. I know you're there."
A startled gasp came from the bushes, followed by silence. Naruto waited patiently, and after a moment, Hinata emerged hesitantly, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her jacket. Her pale lavender eyes were wide, and her cheeks flushed a light pink.
"I-I'm sorry, Naruto-kun," she stammered, bowing her head. "I d-didn't mean to bother you."
Naruto crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "You've been following me for weeks. What's up with that?"
Hinata looked down, her fingers twisting faster. "I... I just wanted to see how you train. You're... amazing."
Naruto blinked, taken aback. "Amazing? Me? I thought everyone thought I was just a loudmouth idiot."
Hinata shook her head fervently. "No! You're... you're kind, and determined, and... I think you're really strong. You only behave like you do to hide the pain you are feeling.I have seen your real side when you train sometimes while i watched"
Her words made Naruto pause. For a moment, he wasn't sure how to respond. Then his expression hardened, and his tone turned cold. "Well, you got me. Now what do you want?"
Hinata blinked, startled by the harshness in his voice, but she didn't back down. "I-I don't want anything, Naruto-kun. I just... I see you—the real you. Not the mask."
Naruto narrowed his eyes, the sharp edge in his gaze wavering. "Yeah? And what do you think you see?" he asked, his voice still bitter but softer than before.
Hinata hesitated, then took a shaky breath. "I see someone strong. Someone who keeps going, even when it hurts. I... I see someone amazing."
Naruto's shoulders stiffened, and he turned his head slightly, avoiding her gaze. "Amazing, huh? Doesn't feel that way," he muttered, his voice low.
"It doesn't matter how it feels," Hinata said, her voice growing steadier. "You are amazing, Naruto-kun. And... I think you deserve to have someone who believes in you."
Naruto stared at her, stunned by her words. For a moment, the vulnerability in his eyes was clear, though he quickly tried to mask it. He sighed, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. "You're... weird, you know that?"
Hinata's face turned crimson, and she lowered her gaze. "S-Sorry..."
Naruto shook his head, a faint, genuine smile tugging at his lips. "Don't be. I mean... maybe I could use a friend like you," he admitted, his tone hesitant but sincere.
Hinata's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat. "Really?"
"Yeah," Naruto said, his voice a little lighter now. "But, uh... don't go telling anyone I said that. Gotta keep the tact, you know?"
Hinata nodded quickly, her face lighting up with a small, hopeful smile. "I won't, Naruto-kun."
He grinned rubbing the back of his head. "Well, thanks, I guess. But if you wanna watch, why don't you just join me instead? It's kinda creepy hiding in the bushes, y'know?"
Hinata's eyes widened. "J-Join you? For training?"
"Yeah," Naruto said, his grin widening. "You're at the Academy, too, right? We're both trying to get stronger, so why not train together? Two heads are better than one, or something like that."
Hinata hesitated, her heart pounding. She had never expected Naruto to invite her to train with him. The thought both excited and terrified her, but she found herself nodding before she could think too much about it. "O-Okay. I'll... I'll try."
"Great!" Naruto said, clapping his hands together. "C'mon, let's get started. I'll show you some of the exercises I've been working on. Maybe we can help each other out."
As the afternoon wore on, Naruto guided Hinata through his routine, showing her basic chakra control exercises and sparring lightly to test her taijutsu. Hinata struggled at first, her movements hesitant and unsure, but Naruto was surprisingly patient, offering encouragement and tips whenever she faltered.
"You've got good form," he said after a sparring round. "You just need more confidence. Don't hold back so much—you're stronger than you think."
The words made Hinata pause as a memory flashed in her mind .
