Chapter 18: Chapter 17:[Shadow Clone Jutsu l]
It started on a quiet afternoon when Naruto, more observant than usual, wandered near the outskirts of the training grounds.
Hidden high up in the branches of a tree, he watched a group of jōnin practicing their techniques. Though their movements were far beyond his current skill level, Naruto paid close attention, his sharp eyes taking in every detail.
One jōnin, in particular, drew his focus. The shinobi moved with precision, his hands forming a sequence of seals—Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog. With a soft puff of smoke, a perfect clone appeared beside him, poised and ready to fight.
Naruto's eyes narrowed with interest. "That's not a regular Clone Jutsu," he muttered under his breath. "Those clones are solid. They're not just illusions. This is a high-level technique."
He observed the jōnin closely, noting how they summoned the clones and then proceeded to engage in combat with them.
It wasn't just a simple copy of the user; these clones seemed to have their own independent actions and abilities. Naruto's mind worked quickly, processing everything he saw. The technique had to require careful chakra control and a precise balance of energy.
When the jōnin finished their session and began to chat, Naruto took the opportunity to eavesdrop. His ears perked up when one of the jōnin laughed and said, "This technique's a lifesaver. The Shadow Clone Jutsu can help in almost any scenario, from training to actual combat."
Shadow Clone Jutsu. The name clicked in Naruto's mind. He nodded to himself. That's the name of the technique.

That evening, Naruto met up with Hinata at their usual training spot. They had just finished their taijutsu drills, but Naruto was clearly distracted, his mind racing with excitement.
"Hinata, I need to tell you about something I saw today," he said, his tone thoughtful.
Hinata tilted her head, intrigued. "What is it, Naruto-kun?"
"I was watching some jōnin train," Naruto explained, keeping his voice low so no one else would hear. "They were using a technique called the Shadow Clone Jutsu. It's not like the Clone Jutsu we were taught at the Academy. The clones are real—solid, capable of fighting and training just like the user."
Hinata blinked, clearly impressed but also cautious. "But… that's a high-level jutsu, isn't it? It requires a lot of chakra control. Do you think we can learn it?"
Naruto nodded, a determined glint in his eyes. "I think we can. I memorized the hand signs after watching them, and between your control and my chakra reserves, we can do this. It's going to take focus, but I believe we can master it faster than anyone expects."
Hinata still seemed a little unsure, but she trusted Naruto's judgment. "But Naruto-kun… what if it's too dangerous? What if we can't control it?"
Naruto smiled softly, his voice steady and reassuring. "If we work together, we can make sure we don't push ourselves too hard. We'll start slow. And even if something goes wrong, we'll have each other's backs."
Hinata nodded, her heart lifting from his words. "Alright. Let's try it, Naruto-kun."
---
Naruto demonstrated the sequence of hand signs with precise control, his expression calm and focused. "Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog," he muttered as he moved his hands fluidly through the seals. "Alright, here goes."
He focused on evenly distributing his chakra, remembering everything he had observed earlier. With a puff of smoke, a clone appeared beside him. But when Naruto looked at it, his eyes narrowed in concentration. The clone's form was unstable, its limbs flickering before collapsing into smoke.
"Hmm," Naruto murmured to himself, analyzing the result. "Too much chakra. I need to fine-tune the balance."
Hinata giggled softly, seeing his thoughtful expression. "You're very close, Naruto-kun. I'm sure you'll get it next time."
Naruto smirked at her. "Now it's your turn. Show me what you've got, Hinata."
Hinata's posture straightened, and with a deep breath, she focused her chakra and performed the seals. Her hands moved with grace, more fluid than Naruto's rough attempt. With a soft puff of smoke, a perfect replica of Hinata appeared, standing still and calm.
Naruto blinked in surprise, his face lighting up with admiration. "Whoa, Hinata! You nailed it on the first try."
Hinata blushed slightly, but there was a calm confidence in her eyes. "I just followed the hand signs carefully. It's all about control, right?"
Naruto nodded, already analyzing what he had learned from her success. "Exactly. You have better control than me, but I'll get it next time. Let's keep practicing."
---
For the next few hours, the two of them worked tirelessly, experimenting with different amounts of chakra and adjusting their control. Naruto quickly refined his technique, learning to summon stable clones and control their movements.
"This is incredible," Naruto said, summoning two clones at once. "We can use them to spar, practice new jutsu, even work on fūinjutsu. This is going to change everything for us."
Hinata smiled softly as she summoned another clone. "It's amazing, Naruto-kun. We're going to get stronger. And the best part is… no one will ever know how much we're improving."
Naruto's eyes gleamed with excitement, but there was also a deep understanding behind them. "Exactly. We'll keep it a secret between us. We'll train in the shadows and come out stronger than anyone could imagine."
