It was a cool, crisp morning when Team 7 arrived at the Hokage's office for their next mission briefing. Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke stood side by side as Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, sifted through a stack of scrolls on his desk.

"Well, Team 7," the Hokage began, his wise gaze settling on them, "you've been doing well with your D-rank missions. I think it's time for a change."

Naruto raised an eyebrow but kept his expression calm, careful to hide his anticipation. Finally, he thought.

"We have a C-rank mission available," the Hokage continued. "You'll be escorting a civilian to the Land of Waves. It's a simple protection mission—ensuring the client reaches his destination safely."

Before anyone could respond, the office door creaked open, and a short, older man stumbled in. He wore a straw hat, and his red nose hinted at an affinity for alcohol. This was Tazuna, the bridge builder.

"You're giving me these kids?" Tazuna said, his tone laced with skepticism. He glanced at Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata, lingering on their youthful appearances. "They don't look like they could protect a bag of rice, let alone me."

Naruto's jaw tightened, but he didn't react outwardly. He exchanged a glance with Hinata, whose Byakugan flared briefly before she deactivated it.

Kakashi stepped in, his voice calm but firm. "Don't worry, Tazuna. My team is more than capable of handling anything we might encounter."

Tazuna grumbled something under his breath but nodded reluctantly. "Fine, but if anything happens to me, it's on you."

As they left the Hokage's office, Kakashi handed out a checklist of supplies they'd need for the mission.

"Travel light, but bring the essentials. We'll be on the road for several days," Kakashi advised. "And be prepared for anything. C-rank missions might be simple, but they're not without risks."

Naruto and Hinata returned to their respective homes to pack.

In his apartment, Naruto carefully inspected his gear, ensuring his kunai were sharp and his supplies were in order. He double-checked his gravity seal, making minor adjustments to ensure it would deactivate during combat if needed..

At the Hyuga compound, Hinata packed her bag with precision, including medical supplies and extra water.

The next morning, the team gathered at the village gates, the rising sun casting a golden glow over Konoha. Tazuna arrived last, still grumbling about his "youthful" protectors.

Kakashi glanced at his students. "Remember, this is your first C-rank mission. Stay alert, and don't underestimate any situation."

Naruto nodded, his sharp mind already analyzing potential risks. "Understood, Kakashi-sensei."

Hinata stood with quiet confidence, her bag neatly packed and her Byakugan ready to activate at a moment's notice.

Sasuke crossed his arms, his usual air of indifference masking his own curiosity about the mission ahead.

The journey to the Land of Waves began smoothly. Tazuna's occasional grumbles and complaints were the only interruptions to the otherwise quiet road. Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke maintained their positions, scanning the surroundings as they moved.

Naruto's sharp eyes darted to every shadow and rustling leaf, his instincts sharper than ever. Beside him, Hinata's Byakugan flickered to life periodically, giving her a clear view of their surroundings.

After hours of travel, Kakashi's voice broke the silence. "We're entering an area with a history of bandit activity. Stay sharp."

Naruto nodded, his mind already running through possible ambush scenarios. Dense foliage, limited sightlines… If someone attacks, it'll be here.

Just as they crossed a shallow puddle on the road, Naruto's gaze lingered on it for a fraction too long. It hadn't rained recently.

"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto muttered under his breath, loud enough for only Kakashi and Hinata to hear. "The puddle…"

Kakashi gave a subtle nod but continued walking, his posture relaxed.

Moments later, two figures erupted from the puddle, chains flying toward Tazuna.
