The Ongaku Princess

Chapter 2: TOP: Two

Kira's POV

"Kiyoshi?" I called out as soon as I entered the infirmary.

"Oh Kira! Done with the dinner?" He asked.

Nodding, I then went to where is he. "Is she well now?" I asked, seeing the cat-girl still sleeping.

"Y-yeah she is. She's just too tired… I guess." He replied with a suspicious smile, but I just brushed it off since I think I knew exactly how he dealt with her.

"So, can I ask now why aren't you coming home?"

Looking at me, he then lead me to his desks and said. "Have a sit first, I doubt it will be quick."

Nodding, I then sat to the chair adjacent to his, waiting for him to talk.

"It was three years now, isn't it? At first, I did tried to go home to tell our parents about me practicing medicine, but somehow, I just know that they wouldn't allow me since I am the crown prince to the throne. So, I figured to just do my job and waited for you to come here." He started.

"But why? Didn't you know they asked me to find you?" I replied.

Shrugging, he looked at me. "Well actually, I know they will. I mean, they were so strict about us getting up here, so when I came to know that they'd enrolled you here, I just knew that, it is to find me."

Pouting, I leaned over his desk. "Still, you left there. You could have at least met me by the bay, I missed you."

Smiling, he then stood up from his chair and hugged me from behind. "Aw! I missed you too, Kira. But you know how will it be once I go back right? I just want more time to enjoy this carefree life, at least before I can got throned."

Nodding, I faced him properly to hug him back. "I'm just happy you're well."

Holding me tighter, he said. "I know you'll enjoy here too, so let me stay until you graduate, okay?"

"Fine, but you gotta be careful in how you treat your patients, big bro!" I eyed him suspiciously.

Scratching his head. "Ah! Yeah! But desperate problems should be solved by desperate measures, you know?" He said, suddenly proud by himself. Rolling my eyes playfully, I giggled at him, making him ask. "So, how do you find this place so far?"

"I don't know, but those five guys annoy me, especially that Kei." I replied, shrugging defeatedly.

Chuckling, he rested his head on my shoulder. "Yeah? What about him? Keita is good kid you know?"

"Oh please! He keep getting into my nerves." I complained.

Laughing harder, he shaked my body. "He really is a good kid, Kira. He's just a bit nonchalant but too serious about things."

Trying to ignore his words, I looked at him. "How about the other guys then? Do you know the twins already barricaded my friends?"

Now calmed down from laughing, he sat on his desk, saying "They're all just like that but they're good at doing there jobs in the School Council."

"Yeah? What are their jobs then? and why did Kei told me that they're tasked to look after us." I asked again.

Nodding, he said. "The job of the Student Council is to protect, defend, and rule the University according to the principles of equality, and as you and your friends are all Princesses of different species, it is only a given for the Authorities to take action against all discriminatory behavior to any of you, especially of what happened to Akira."

"Akira?" I asked.

Nodding again, he pointed to the cat-lady from earlier. "Akira is the Second Princess of Nekolandia, the Kingdom of Cat People."

Hearing my brother talk about a lot, I just started to feel sleepy and once he saw me yawn, he told me to get back to the dorms. Nodding, I went out from the infirmary, looking around for Kei, who said he'll wait.

"Done?" He said, popping again from nowhere.

"Are you even a human? You keep popping up from somewhere." I complained.

Rolling his eyes, he said. "I am not human, I'm an Elf."

"What? Really?" I asked, curiously.

He then leaned in, showing me his long ears. "Believing me now?" He asked.

Still amazed, I nod. "How about the other guys then? Are the like us too? Or are they humans?"

Looking at me, he said. "The latter."

Suddenly sensing a mood change, I looked up to him, carefully assessing his facial expressions. "You're frowning, could it be that they don't know about you being an elf?" I asked, almost a whisper.

Looking at me suspiciously, he said. "It's none of your business."

Rolling my eyes, I walked passed him, thinking how I hit the soft spot but as we walked back to the dorms, I suddenly smelled something, making me stop.

"Can you smell that?" I asked him.

Sniffing around, Kei then covered my nose and mouth with his hand. "Stop inhaling it, it's a drug used by humans."

"A drug? for what? Are they sick?" I said, all muffled because of his hand.

Shaking his head, he said. "Stop asking, and just walk. You'll be in trouble if it got into your system."

Nodding, I just obeyed and started walking again, his hand never leaving my face until we reached the dormitory. Walking me to my room, I asked him. "Why did you covered my mouth and nose but not yours?"

"Because that drug doesn't affect me, it only take effect to Humans and females of other species." He replied.

"Hm? then what is its effect?" I asked again.

Groaning, he unlocked my door and pushed me inside, saying. "Don't forget to look your door. If someone knocks on your door, never ever open up and ignore it."

"But what if its you or someone from the student council, Mikazuki or Yui, or maybe Kiyoshi." I asked once more.

"No one of them will knock on your door, Kira. They're all asleep now, so just listen to me, okay?" He said.

Nodding, I then watched him walk away, concerned to what he is planning to do. "I hate your guts, but be safe." I muttered to myself, before closing my door, locking it up.

The next day, I was then awakened by an announcement. "This is the Vice-President of Student Council, Toruu. Please be informed that the first day of classes will be suspended today. I repeat, the first day classess will be suspended today. and please avoid going near the forest. Thank you."

Hearing that, I couldn't help but to think why did Toruu did it instead of Kei. "C-could it be that something happened to him last night?" I asked myself.

Worried, I found myself dressing up real quick, then upon reaching downstairs, I hurried to the infirmary to check on with my brother.

"K-Kiyoshi!" I called out to him as I catch my breath.

Looking at me curiously, he asked. "Aren't you supposed to be in the cafeteria to eat your breakfast?"

"I-I just want to know i-if something happened to Kei last night…" I said stuttering, still trying to catch my breath.

"Kei? Nothing that I know of, but why? and did you just run just to ask me that?" His brows furrowed, as if curious about something.

Finally catching my breath, I invited mysef to his desk and told him what happened last night and today.

Nodding, he said. "I see, so you were worried that something happened to him." His eyes looking at me as if he's suggesting something.

Rolling my eyes at him, I defended. "I-I was just wondering, because he went there on his own, and even if he say that drug doesn't affect him, it's still possible that those people might attack him."

Grinning from ear to ear, he said. "Why don't you check on him then? I'm sure they're waiting for you in the…" His sentence was cut off when the door slammed open.

Barging into the door as soon as he saw me sitting pretty, he pulled me up to stand. "Do you really have no care about food, Kira? This is the second time I've been fetching you to eat." Kei told me off.

Wincing in pain, I looked up to him but he doesn't let go. It was then Kiyoshi grabbed my hand away from him and said. "Easy tiger, my sister came straight here to ask something, it's not right for you to himirt her."

Calmed down, Kei then apologized to him but not to me. Instead, he told me that I keep delaying the meals for everyone.

Mad, I suddenly teared up, defending myself. "Well, I'm sorry that I got worried about you getting hurt from last!" I yelled at him, running out from the infirmary to somewhere I think I could have peace.

The next thing I knew, I was already in the middle of the forest, still smelling the remnants of the 'drugs' used by the people last night.

Roaming around carelessly, I then started feeling dizzy and hot and as I tried to stay away, my vision became blurry and after that it went black out.

Waking up, I found myself lying in the infirmary, while Kiyoshi is reading a book beside me.

"How are you feeling?" He immediately asked, standing up closer to me.

"I'm fine. I just got dizzy." I told him.

Nodding, he then reached for my forehead and neck to feel my temperature. "Guess you're physically fine now, but how about this?" He asked again, pointing to his heart.

Rolling my eyes, I sat up. "I'm fine. Can I go back now?" I asked back.

Shaking his head, he said. "No, not until you eat up."

Taking a deep breath, I then give him a nod so he brought me food to eat. "Is this a last meal? It's just too much!" I complained.

"Oh come on, Kira! Kei was the one who gave me all of that and told me to make sure you finish them." He said.

"But it's too much for me to handle! I mean just look at how many foods are there, and the serving are just too big." I tried to explain but Kiyoshi didn't attend to my complaints anymore and just made me eat.

Already full from eating some, I quickly stood up only to fall back to the bed. Silently laughing from me trying, Kiyoshi then said. "Just be a good girl, Kira. You can rest here until you can walk."

Rolling my eyes as I admitted defeat, I just laid back to the bed and slept again, only to be woken up by the middle of the night, hearing weird noises from the cubicle where Akira is.

I knew exactly what was going on and it was so weird for me to hear them but what can I do when my legs still aren't working. Covering my ears hoping for it to end, I then find myself smelling something good, enough to make me relax, the next thing I knew it was already morning and the cubicle where Akira was is already empty.

Curious, I tried standing up and again. Feeling my legs working just fine, I then stood up to find Kiyoshi, only to find the least person I want to see now, Kei.

Trying to ignore him, I went back to the bed and laid down again, but he showed up with food. "Eat up." He said.

"I'm not hungry, I'm going back to sleep." I replied, quickly turning back from him.

Hearing him groan, I thought he already left so I sat back up, then stood up again to back to the dorms but the moment I left my cubicle he spoke. "Hate me that much enough to leave without saying anything?"

"I have nothing to say." I replied, walking past him, leaving the infirmary room.

Thinking he was following, I just continued walking without looking back, so the moment someone approached me from behind, the only word I was able to say was. "What?!"

"Woah! who got you that mad? I was just trying to say Hi you know?" Toruu said, his hands up.

Sighing, I looked behind him to see if Kei was around, but not seeing him, I wasn't sure of how I am feeling.
