chapter 4
4 – Hero party (4)
puck!
f*ck!
bang!
Use the snap of your wrist to cut it off with a sense of rhythm. The water-soaked scabbard clung to the demon’s flesh, and the metal decoration ripped off the swollen flesh, oozing blood. The demon fell to the floor, sobbing and begging for his life.
“Sah, save me… … ! Well, I’ll do anything… … !”
“I can finally talk.”
I smiled happily when I saw the bloodied Veles actively responding to the conversation. I brushed off the scabbard on the floor and soaked it in the valley water to wash away the blood. The smell of rotten moss permeated the scabbard, but it was better than the smell of blood.
“listen carefully. it’s the devil You will go to the village with me from now on. Challenge the hero at the village entrance. Okay?”
“Ah, that, then you die… … .”
Bloody Veles. It was a notorious demon because it sliced the captive humans little by little and turned them into beef jerky. I couldn’t help but think that a guy like that was afraid of death. I picked up a knife that had fallen to the floor and slashed it at the rock. The blade collapsed at an odd angle, giving it a saw-like shape.
I held Veles’ hand in that state and began rubbing the broken blade against my flesh as if I were playing a violin. The flesh that had been blown by the water and had no durability was crushed as I rubbed it.
“Quaaagh! aaagh! Go, let’s go! Please watch! aaagh!”
“I know very well that you won’t die from excessive blood loss. If you don’t do as I say, I’ll torture you all night here.”
“Because I’m going! I’ll go! aaagh!”
I picked up the knife and threw it again only after hearing the bastard’s active request for cooperation. Besides the bloodied Veles, there were about three more people still alive. They were demons that I kept alive with only one limb cut off for my needs. They had blue skin and were skinny, as if they only ate one meal a day.
I pointed at them with my scabbard and said.
“You are following me. okay?”
“Ah yes!”
The demons, seeing with their own eyes what the bloodied Veles had been through, responded with an obedient and loyal voice. Satisfied with their reply, I got up. The sun hadn’t risen yet, but we had to hurry.
I grabbed Veles by the hair and forced him to stand up, kicking him in the butt and saying,
“Go now! There is no time! If you don’t go, I’ll beat you up again from the beginning!”
“Sobbing… ! hehehe… ! Oh, I see… !”
The devil began to descend from the mountain in tears. I led the three terrified men down a different road.
*******
“Evil! The devil has appeared!”
Early in the morning, the village was in an emergency. The warrior who was sleeping in a lodging near the entrance of the village scratched his head and got up. Lena, who was wandering around the neighborhood early in the morning, caught a screaming soldier wandering around and asked what was going on.
“what? what’s the matter?”
“The devil has come down! That guy! Bloody Veles! That scary bastard came down himself!”
“what?”
Lena scratched her head and moved toward the village entrance. Upon hearing that the devil had appeared, the warrior who immediately put on his gear and came out did not know why the devil had come down the mountain road. Didn’t you say you came down with an order to cut off the supply line? Then, isn’t it right that the mountain road is still blocked?
Ashria said as if having the same question as the hero.
“He is a suspicious fellow. warrior. They might be plotting strange schemes, so be careful.”
“Okay. Ashuria. What about Millet and Uncle?”
“Millet is up and preparing now, can’t you wake the porter later? If a fight breaks out at the village entrance now, the civilians are better off staying in their quarters. The situation is urgent, so let’s deal with the devil first and tell you later.”
“That too.”
“Warrior! I’m ready too!”
Starting with Millet’s bow, the warriors’ party prepared for battle. Millet walked up to the watchtower, Lena climbed over the fence, turned sharply towards the village entrance, and settled in the rear. And the hero and Ashuria blocked the entrance to the village and waited for his approach.
“hehehe…! hehehe… !”
The demon’s laughter sounded like sobs, and the smell of blood spread as it approached. The warrior frowned and said.
“How many people have you killed and you already smell bloody? What a terrible guy.”
“An opportunity like this doesn’t come along very often, so let’s capture them alive and hand them over to the unit.”
“I am nervous. It’s probably the first time I’m fighting a subordinate of the famous Demon King’s army. What kind of skills are you… … .”
Ashuria gently touched the hero’s shoulder and smiled.
“it’s okay. I heard that the commanders who come to this remote area are at most intermediate level monsters. Think of it as a smart ogre.”
“thanks. Ashuria. For encouraging me.”
The warrior held Ashuria’s hand and said. Ashuria looked at the hand of the warrior who held her tightly with rough eyes and smiled ecstatically.
“You can rely on me more.”
“Oh, it comes!”
The hot atmosphere was broken and Millet’s voice was heard. Both the hero and Ashuria regained their senses and took their stance.
“Heh heh heh… ! ugh… !”
A cry was heard, and its silhouette was clearly visible in the shadows. The hero shouted before he could open his mouth.
“Are you Veles the Bloody?”
“Yes… ! Kkeuk… ! hehehehe… !”
When its form was revealed, everyone who was nervous was at a loss for words. Its face was beaten and swollen like a beehive, and one arm was in tatters from being cut. Blood was dripping from all over his body, and flies were already attracting him from his wounds so badly.
“…Really, as the name suggests, it’s covered in blood. Is it undead?”
“Sah, save me… … ! It hurts so much… … !”
Veles shook his head, stretched out his hand toward the hero, and begged. Even the hero was taken aback by the appearance of not being able to find any fighting spirit, so he had no choice but to look at Ashuria. Ashria said in a cold tone.
“Warrior. These demons specialize in deceiving others by deceiving their true selves. Don’t fall for his tricks.”
“I am really… ! please heal me… ! You, it’s so cold and painful… ! I won’t do anything bad anymore… ! Sobbing… !”
Veles knelt on the floor and began to pray. The hero looked at him with a puzzled expression, and Ashuria knelt down on the ground, winking at Lena from behind the forest. Then, with a benevolent smile, she waved to Veles.
“I can’t help it if you say that. I’ll put a bandage on you. Are you very sick?”
Even after spitting it out of her mouth, Veles opened her eyes wide in disbelief and asked Ashuria.
“I-I… ! It’s a demon… ! I really… ! Are you treating me?”
“Absolutely. Well, welcome. Let’s get some treatment.”
Veles wept. The moment he took a step forward with a bright smile, Millet shouted to the hero.
“Warrior! There are suspicious people on the left!”
“On the left?”
The moment the warrior’s head turned to the left, Ashuria’s eyes changed sharply and she nodded. Lena appeared like lightning behind Veles and thrust a dagger into his side.
“Keep it off… ! Oops!”
Veles twisted his body, unable to regain his composure from the impact of the dagger, and Millet’s arrow accurately hit the man’s hand waving through the air. With a gong sound, his hand was shattered like a rubber balloon, and Veles cried out in pain.
“aaa! uh, why… ! why… !”
“Shut up, you arrogant bastard! Trying to surprise the hero while he looked away! After all, don’t trust the devil! Eat! Light of Judgment!”
Ashuria drew a V and stretched out her hand. As the divine power gathered at the tips of both fingers, Ashuria stabbed Veles in the eyes.
“ooo!”
When Veles, his eyes burned to black, fell to the ground, Lena tied his arms and legs tightly. The hero only looked around with a bewildered face, and Ashuria whispered in the arms of the hero.
“Warrior. Just now, that evil demon tried to attack the hero. You are too cunning a demon to try to take advantage of our goodwill.”
The hero looked at Ashuria in amazement and hugged her tightly.
“That, like that… … ! If it wasn’t for Ashuria, I would have been in big trouble.”
“Warrior! Warrior! I helped too!”
Millet, who had run up at some point, intervened between the hero and Ashuria and embraced them as well. The hero hugged Millet as well and expressed his gratitude.
“thanks. Ashria.”
Ashuria smiled and whispered to the warrior.
“Yes. warrior. Don’t believe in those demons. Only we have to believe. depend on me Warrior.”
Millet also smiled brightly and hugged the warrior.
“right. Warrior. you depend on us It’s all good when you’re with us.”
Lena silently tied Veles with a rope. Veles only muttered while shedding bloody tears.
“Ahh… ! Evil bastards… ! Me, cheating on me… !”
“A pervert who tortures and kills people.”
Lena ignored Veles’ cries and rolled him to her feet. The guards, who accepted the demon that had rolled around, only looked at the demon that rolled into the front of the camp with half-doubtful eyes. Lena scratched her head and murmured.
“You will like it, uncle. I think I can stay for a day or so.”
And she hummed and walked back to the inn.
