The Price of Divinity

Chapter 1: Room

An empty and dazzling dreamlike world filled with stars instantly shattered. The awakened Note felt a sharp pain in his head as if someone had run over him. No, it's more like someone destroyed every bone in his body.

Ouch, why can't I move? Note attempted to move, but none of his limbs could move. Laughter, screams, sorrows, crying—every sound made of human emotion—has been jammed into Note's brain.

Ahhh!!! Get out of my head!!! Note tried to scream, but he was floating in a vast environment with nothing but stars.

Help, Help, Is anyone there?

After a few hours, Note realized that no one was there for him. It's just a vast yet dazzling environment. All he saw were the stars, like a god-like figure seeing over the vast universe.

What is happening? Where am I? Why can't I see myself? I can't see it. Am I dead? No, I can't be dead; I am still so young, even if I am. What happened? All I remember was that I was sleeping. Wait, did I die in my sleep!! Am I sleeping!?

No, that's not possible. I am in perfect health. How sad would it be if I died in my sleep? Think, think. There has to be another reason. I do remember that my soul and my body got pulled in and out.

Note was now interested in the dazzling world. Everywhere he looked, the view was magnificent. His soul felt relaxed while watching the tiny stars glowing every once in a while. The thought of not having a material body disturbed Note; he felt that his identity was missing.

All Note felt was his soul floating while feeling that he was watching and was being watched. The room had no sound, nothing except the beauty of it. While trying to figure out why he's here alone. He felt a sharp pain throughout his soul.

Note closed his eyes due to the pain. When he opened them, he was in a large open field filled with beautiful green grass. Noah looked around to see where he was. He didn't recognize the place as the total opposite of his home. He was both happy and confused. Happy that the empty, dreamlike world he was in and confused to see that he doesn't know where he is, still not being able to see his body.

As he looked down, he saw a shadowy figure. It has a human structure, yet it feels weightless. When Note was examining this body, a large red barn caught his attention. He immediately felt attracted by the barn like a moth to a flame.

When he arrived at the barn, Note's body passed through the walls. When he was inside the barn, it looked exactly like the outside, and then the same barn in which he had just gone through appeared once again. He went through the same journey towards the barn.

It felt like an infinite loop until Note entered the barn to see the outside transform from a sunny, breathtaking view to the grass now burned, the sun now replaced by a red crimson night.

Voices started flooding Note's mind until one of the voices called upon him.

Run

After hearing the voice personally call upon him, Note froze, not realizing what to do when he suddenly heard.

Bang!

A shot passed through Note's head, and transparent liquid started gushing out.

What the fuck is happening? Is this my blood? Where did that bullet appear? Note petrified by the large hole and the gushing liquid coming out of his ghost-like body.

The liquid was coming out at an incredible speed out of a hole that was getting larger and larger. The more of the liquid that came out, the more of what made Note, Note was starting to fade away.

Upon the last drop falling, Note felt his entire body weak. The ghost-like body was as translucent as his soul in the room. His body felt weak on the brink of passing out, where everything he once knew about himself was gone.

All of what he had experienced throughout his life was gone. Only leaving his core emotions while taking away everything that he once valued. His mind had the mental fortitude and intelligence of a man but the knowledge of the world similar to a toddler.

After waking up, Note hadn't realized that he was no longer himself; all he did was frantically check if the hole was still there.

After confirming that it was no longer there. Something caught his eye. In the vast room where only tiny stars resided, one suddenly started to grow more than the other.

Note watched fascinated by its growth.

The beauty of the lightness brought Note to the brink of tears. Note tried his best to try to reach the light, yet he suddenly remembered that he no longer had limbs. The star brightness was enough to light up the rest of the room.

The star started spinning around the whole room. The more it spun, the brighter the blue light that emitted from the star. It's absorbing the other stars into its main core.

The room now had an incredibly large center star. A large, four-sided blue star has now stopped moving.

There were still other stars throughout the room. Some are larger than others, and some have different colors and shapes. Yet nothing could compare to the beauty of the star staring directly at Note.

After countless hours staring at the star, Note felt a pull far stronger than the pull that originally transported him into those experiences.
