The rise of the King cobra

Chapter 18: Helping a boy become a man

After two days of the incident, I was in a good mood, a great mood even. Since I destroyed Maines car, I felt satisfied with my compensation.

I even left a snake at their location, to see him crying like a newborn baby. Sure his companions tried to soothe him, but he brushed off their words.

Right now, he was sitting in front of the destroyed car, with multiple beer bottles surrounding him.

While depressing music played in the background, his crew was behind him, staring at him in concern, well, except Sasha and the other netrunner, who are not their at the time.

"Maine, come on choom, you got to move on." Said the muscular woman, who tried to move him away.

"Dorio, why are we here? Just to suffer?" The now named Dorio only raised her fist and slammed it against his head.

Causing Maine to yell in pain and kneel onto the floor, holding his head. As he looked at Dorio, he could only sniff, while a bit of blood trickled down the side of his head.

"How much did you spend to have it custom made anyway?" Maine didn't answer at first, but muttered something

"...…thirty..." Dorio cocked one of her eyebrows up, not worried about the amount he muttered.

"Thirty thousand? That's not that bad." Maine shook his head and muttered again.

"Thirty million?!" She screamed catching the attention of the rest of the gang, who all swarmed him.

"You spent, thirty million eddies, on a fucking custom car?! What were you thinking in your fucking gonk head?!" Shouted the gremlin girl.

"Rebecca, that car was the love of my life, it was my baby!" He shouted, he motioned at the destroyed car, where a valve popped out of the block.

"I made wonderful memories with that car." He wiped tears that fell from his eyes, reminiscing the memories.

"Yeah, yeah, you had some wonderful sex with it." Dorio rolled her eyes and placed her hand on her hip.

I had to admit, I was enjoying the drama that was unfolding in front of me. Since it was rare for me to see something entertaining, so I decided to continue watching and see where this led to.

"I didn't fuck the car damn it!" He sobbed, he raised his head and began to cry on the car.

"It was about the memories when I drove it!" He then began to explain why, but his members all began to back away.

Even I began to cringe at what he was saying, a man has the right to express their joy. Only if it's not like a two hour monologue on what you love.

However, it wasn't long until I had received a call. Someone I least expected the most, was David.

I was mostly curious on why he was calling me, since last I saw of him was two days ago. So what caused him to call me now?

As I answered him, I was surprised on what I saw. He had blood running down his head, one of his eyes were swollen, and he was smiling like an idiot.

"Hey, Alabast, mind picking me up." He said while giggling, before I could say anything, he hung up, but not before sending me his location.

I could only worry at what he did, so I quickly gathered my things. Once I dawned the clothes and grabbed my pistol, I rushed down to quickly exit.

Wanting to find David as soon as possible, I was able to reach his location. When I finally arrived, I was in santo domingo. When I arriving, I heard two sets of noises, the sound of someone crying, and giggling.

When I had arrived, I saw a boy crying onto the side, holding his hand that was broken. While David was leaning against the wall, giggling like a maniac.

"David!" Hearing me shout, the people patted to the side, while David struggled to walk towards me.

"H-hey Alabast, y-you should have seen it." Those were the lasts words he said before passing out, but before he could land on the floor, I quickly reached him and held him in my arms.

"Well, it seems I don't need to know what happened." I sighed, placing him on my back and calling my car.

As I was about to leave, some of the locals tried to stop me. But one glance from me was enough to warn them to not try, or they would not be able to see tomorrow.

As I placed him on the passenger side, I made sure to make him comfortable as possible, since he looked like he didn't sleep.

Driving back was alright, since David was asleep most of the time, however, when arriving back at my home, he slowly stirred awake.

"Huh… guess I'm back here." He said grogerly, I placed his arm over my shoulder and soon took him in my home.

"Just relax." I said and placed him on the couch, as soon as he sat down, I quickly made some food for him.

While at the same time, I opened a small medkit I bought a few days ago, and began to clean the blood off his head.

"So, are you going to tell your mother on what you did?" Hearing me ask that question, he widened his eyes and sprung up, acting like he wasn't injured.

"About what? I don't recall doing anything dangerous." He said, trying to laugh off the pain that he was feeling.

"Of course, there is no way she cannot see the swollen eye you have." I replied sarcastically.

This caused him to slump back onto the couch, he groaned as he held his head in his hands.

"How am I going to hide this?" He muttered, I coughed loudly to catch his attention, then motioned to my kitchen.

As he followed me, I motioned for him to sit on the chair. I then looked at my knives, grabbing the sharpest and checking the edge.

"This will do." I muttered, before David could ask what I was going to do, I already swung my arm, cutting the swollen area.

"Gah, at least give me a warning!" He shouted at me, holding the swollen area.

"Oh don't be such a baby, this is the fastest way to reduce the swelling." I spoke, letting the blood flow out.

Bit by bit, the swelling began to lower itself, until it looked normal. I then placed a bandage on the cut I made, making sure it would clot the wound.

"Now then, why did you call me?" I asked while he touched where I cut.

"Well, since you gave me your contact information, i thought I'd call you, since my mom is busy and doesn't come home till the next day." He said while looking down.

"I see, but that's not the full reason, is it?" Seeing that I saw through him, he only looked to the side, not wanting to look at me.

"Why did you let me hit you?" I was curious on why he asked that, but he continued to speak.

"You could have dodged my kick, yet you didn't. Why?" I understood why he was curious, so I stood up and looked outside.

"Let me ask you a question of my own, why did you kick me?" This made David look at me, frowning and caressing his brows.

"I thought you were some guy trying to hit on my mom." He said, I didn't understand at first, but then I remembered, they are family.

"She's all that you have, right?" He nodded at my question and sighed.

"I'm just worried, since she raised me. I never knew my dad, since he was never a part of my life." He then looked at me with a glint, determination growing in his eye.

"Teach me how to fight." I was surprised at what he said, but I had to make sure on one thing.

"David, if you do learn how to fight, are you going to learn on how to kill, or to subdue?" Hearing my question, David didn't waver, instead he grabbed a glass vase, smashed it, and held it above my eye.

"To kill." I smiled at his answer, but then soon left and returned with a broom and a dust pan.

"Good, now clean it up." David then sulked and did so, making sure every glass shard was swept and tossed away.

"Head back home, since your mom might call you and become worried, but when you have time, let me know." I smiled and guided him out.

"Don't worry, I can come tomorrow in the after noon." As I waved him off, I had high hopes for him.

Since he was still organic, he could maybe deal with some of the people. Not all, but some, I sighed and began to look for a suitable location.

Not only for me to train him, but to also have Gloria attend as well. Since she works as an EMT, she might need more that just a pistol.

"I can tell I'm about to face the wrath of a mother." I muttered and prepared myself on what I'm going to face.

(A/N) Hey, Hey, here's the second chapter, I know im late by two days, but here it is.

Since two chapters ago, I can tell some of you disliked it, and honestly, I hated it myself, but, at some point, we got to face that embarrassing moment.

And it turned out well in the end in this chapter, right?

Overall, send power stones to show support and give me motivation.

For now, peace.
