The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 47 - Awakening Abnormalities

Jiang Hui thought she had misheard. A-level?!

Seeing that Jiang Hui seemed skeptical, the other person frowned slightly, appearing dissatisfied with her questioning of his professionalism. He said, “According to the data from your brainwaves and other indicators, your mental power level threshold has at least reached A-level. I mean at least…”

What does “at least” mean? Didn’t they say that the technology in the future world is incredible? Why is there still a term like “at least”? This made her heart race a little.

Is A-level good? Isn’t A-level enough?!

Please don’t let it go any higher. This isn’t Jiang Hui being dramatic; it’s her genuine wish. She had seen a post on a youth forum discussing the high demand for people with elevated mental power thresholds among interstellar beings.

So high that all factions almost welcome these kinds of talents.

High-level awakeners have little chance to pursue ordinary professions; they are almost all recruited by the military. Those not enlisted end up being taken in by various factions, either engaging in high mental power tasks or being cultivated as reserve talents.

If the original body’s second awakening had reached this level, there would be no opportunity for Jiang Hui to plan her future here. The original body would certainly be regarded as a key talent in the family, receiving the most resources, receiving focused training, and ultimately being funneled into the military to become someone like her parents.

This may have been the future the original body yearned for, but it was not Jiang Hui’s. She had never considered such a possibility and was still thinking about how she could just coast through life in this technologically advanced interstellar society.

Jiang Hui vaguely felt that the path she envisioned was starting to drift further away from her, racing toward an uncontrollable direction.

The therapist, Michael, probably interpreted her disbelief as overwhelming surprise. He softened the serious expression he had earlier and said to Jiang Hui,

“Normally, there wouldn’t be any significant fluctuations in mental power levels between the second and third awakenings for incomplete awakeners. Did you encounter anything unusual before your second awakening, or…”

“Miss Jiang, was there anything abnormal about your second awakening?”

Jiang Hui truly didn’t know. As she recalled the memories of the original body, the details regarding this matter were quite vague, making it difficult for her to piece together what happened.

She tried to think hard and finally managed to gather a few shallow memory points.

“Yes, Dr Michael, I remember it didn’t seem unusual. If I had to say anything, it would be that my second awakening inexplicably happened earlier than expected. Also, the duration of the second awakening was relatively short, probably only about two… star hours or so.”

The original body didn’t have any reliable adult guardians around, so no one informed her of the precautions regarding mental awakenings. Most of Jiang Hui’s knowledge came from the original body’s memories, and she naturally didn’t understand the specific conditions, so she thought nothing was unusual.

But that was already quite abnormal.

Humans, during the period before interstellar migration when they lived on their home planet, reportedly had little concept of mental power. They only vaguely knew something about it but couldn’t clearly define what it actually was.

Later, humanity fully discovered mental power when they began exploring outer space. At that time, most people didn’t understand it well, and humans conducted extensive research and development on their bodies for exploration, ultimately determining what mental power actually was.

When humans finally understood mental power and learned how to utilize it, they had completely entered the interstellar era.

Through generations of evolution and genetic changes, interstellar beings have increasingly been able to use their brain regions and mental powers precisely, and they found the patterns of human mental power development.

This period of mental power development is also known as the mental awakening phase.

It is said that every interstellar being must go through the first three phases of mental awakening, usually completed between the ages of 5 and 25.

After the first three awakening phases, further awakening phases become difficult to count, and not everyone experiences them. These subsequent awakening phases are often categorized based on individual experiences, and thus are classified as the super-awakening phase of mental power.

Generally, children undergo their initial awakening between the ages of 5 and 9. The original body experienced her first awakening of B-level mental power at the age of 7. This is neither early nor late, and the initial level of mental power is considered quite good.

The second awakening typically occurs between 9 and 13 years of age after the initial awakening, which means Jiang Hui’s second awakening should have occurred at the earliest when she turned 15.

However, she unexpectedly experienced her second awakening at just over 14 years old, before reaching 15. This is a highly unusual signal concerning the original body’s condition.

This very likely indicates an abnormality in the brain’s magnetic field, which affected the brainwaves and stimulated the development of mental power.

Many possible factors could lead to abnormalities in the brain’s magnetic field, but they cannot occur naturally. The magnetic field of interstellar beings’ brains has already stabilized to adapt to the interstellar environment, so it must have been influenced by external factors.

Moreover, there are clear regulations in the interstellar realm that require incomplete awakeners to undergo annual examinations at designated hospitals to monitor the condition of their brain regions and brainwaves, thus ruling out any abnormalities in mental power development.

Therefore, the abnormality in the original body’s brain magnetic field must have emerged in the short period leading up to the second awakening.

In fact, Therapist Michael could also see from the residual brain data that during the period of her second awakening, Ms. Jiang seemed to have been influenced by some form of radiation that caused the awakening anomaly.

This explains why the original body experienced an early second awakening, yet her mental power remained unchanged compared to her first awakening.

In reality, she did not successfully undergo a second awakening; it can only be described as a false awakening phase.

Thus, Jiang Hui’s sudden jump to A-level mental power can now be understood. It likely occurred during the period when her brain region was injured, inadvertently stimulating the brain’s magnetic field, which then pushed the incomplete second awakening to completion, helping her fully realize this second awakening.

“However, Ms. Jiang, the damage to your brain region during that previous incident was quite serious; even the brainwave frequency has slightly changed.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Hui’s expression changed. It wasn’t the severity of the brain damage that troubled her, but the mention of her abnormal brainwaves.

If she had to clarify, she wasn’t experiencing “serious brain damage and abnormal brainwaves.” The original body had suffered brain damage so severe that the brainwaves had directly vanished, resulting in instant death, which allowed Jiang Hui to take over this body and seamlessly replace its brainwaves.

The fact that they could even detect brainwave frequencies in the interstellar realm was astonishing. If that were the case, she and the original body weren’t the same person at all; they were entirely different souls with distinct brainwave patterns. Would this also be discovered?
