Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Misty of Cerulean City
(N/A: Many people think that Misty is not suitable for being a heroine, but I still wrote about the plot. If you don't like Misty, say it in the comments. If there are many objections, I will not accept Misty! )
(N/T: author has no balls if man, nor guts if woman.... Meh)
At night in the Viridian Forest, Ash and Pikachu lay in the tent.
Pikachu had already fallen asleep, while the Onix and the others returned to their Poké Balls after eating their Pokémon food.
Unknowingly, Ash has been in this world for fifteen years, and most of the events have been almost forgotten.
However, encountering some familiar events occasionally triggers faint memories.
Still, Ash isn't worried about the storyline. He believes that even without knowing the events, he can become the strongest trainer.
After all, he has extensive battle experience and a wealth of improvised skills!
"According to the information given by my grandfather, if I want to participate in the Indigo League Conference, I need to collect eight Gym Badges from the Kanto region. While there are many Gyms in Kanto, only the eight strongest are certified by the league."
"Each of these Gyms has a Gym Leader who oversees the gem-version badges. If you collect eight gem-version badges or silver badges, you'll qualify to challenge the Elite Four and the Champion of the Kanto region!"
"Although Pikachu and the others are currently at Gym Leader level, with the skills I've developed, there's still a chance. It seems I'll need to plan carefully!" Thinking of the advice he had received from Professor Oak, Ash mulled over his options.
Ultimately, Ash decided to focus on collecting gem-version badges. It's important to note that each of the eight league-certified Gyms has only ten gem-version badges.
If all ten badges are claimed by trainers, the Gym would then become an ordinary league Gym.
As for silver badges, they indicate recognition for a Gym Leader-level trainer, while general trainers typically earn ordinary badges.
Even though Cerulean Gym is rumored to be the weakest in Kanto, it hasn't been shut down by the league. This is because a Gym Leader-level trainer backs the Gym and holds ten gem-version badges.
"Help!!" Just as Ash was pondering his strategy and drifting off to sleep, a sudden cry for help jolted both him and Pikachu awake!
"Pikachu, let's go!" Hearing the cry for help, Ash dashed out of the tent, with Pikachu following closely. After running for a while, Ash finally located the source of the distress.
He saw a girl, around fifteen years old, running toward him frantically. Behind her was a massive blue Gyarados, one of Kanto's most notorious and aggressive Pokémon.
Known for its fierce temper, Gyarados is a Pokémon whose anger stems from its past.
As a Magikarp, one of the weakest Pokémon in the world, it was often bullied. After evolving into Gyarados, its pent-up frustrations manifested as extreme ferocity.
Name: Gyarados
Level: Early Elite
Ability: Intimidate
Type: Water/Flying
Potential: 100% (32% developed)
"Damn, this Gyarados has already reached the Early Elite stage!" Ash exclaimed after scanning Gyarados's stats with his system.
In the wild, reaching the Elite stage is exceptionally rare for most Pokémon unless they belong to species with inherently high base stats.
"Hey, run away!" the girl, still being pursued by Gyarados, called out urgently to Ash.
"That's not necessary. Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded calmly, snapping out of his shock.
"Pika...CHU!!" Pikachu leapt forward, releasing a burst of yellow lightning that struck Gyarados directly.
Despite their size difference, with Gyarados towering over Pikachu, the electric Pokémon stood its ground, unaffected by Gyarados's intimidating presence.
"ROAR!!!" Gyarados let out a pained scream as Pikachu's Thunderbolt hit its mark.
Being a Water/Flying type, Gyarados had a glaring weakness to Electric-type moves, leaving it severely impacted by the attack.
Fortunately, the Gyarados, despite its rage, was already weakened by Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
However, before its stamina was completely depleted, it remained wildly aggressive.
As it swayed under Pikachu's attack, an orange light began to form in its mouth.
"This is... Hyper Beam!" Ash exclaimed.
"Pikachu, use Double Team and Quick Attack to evade!"
Recognizing the danger of the incoming Hyper Beam, Ash immediately instructed Pikachu to rely on its speed to avoid the attack.
Hyper Beam is a rare and immensely powerful move. With Pikachu's current abilities, it was impossible to withstand it head-on.
Pikachu's yellow figure darted around Gyarados, creating multiple illusions that confused the enraged Pokémon.
Unable to distinguish the real Pikachu, Gyarados growled in frustration.
"ROAR!"
"BOOM!"
In desperation, Gyarados unleashed its Hyper Beam on one of Pikachu's illusions. The intense orange beam obliterated the ground, leaving craters in its wake.
"Perfect timing! Pikachu, use Iron Tail!"
Taking advantage of Gyarados's exhaustion after launching Hyper Beam, Ash quickly devised a counterattack. Pikachu leapt toward Gyarados, its tail glowing with a metallic sheen.
"BOOM!"
Pikachu's Iron Tail struck Gyarados squarely on the head. The sheer force of the attack overwhelmed the massive Pokémon. When the dust settled, Gyarados lay unconscious, its eyes spinning in defeat.
Meanwhile, Pikachu stood victorious and unscathed, appearing entirely at ease.
Being at the mid Gym Leader level and having a type advantage made this battle relatively stress-free for Pikachu.
"Wow... That was incredible! You defeated Gyarados with Pikachu!"
The girl watching the battle was in awe. She muttered to herself, amazed by Pikachu's strength.
Most people view Pikachu as an "electric mouse" Pokémon, one that typically peaks at the late Elite stage after evolving into Raichu.
"Hi, my name is Ash, and I'm from Pallet Town. Is this Gyarados yours?" Ash asked after the battle, as Pikachu returned to his shoulder.
"Hello... I'm Misty, from Cerulean City. This Gyarados isn't mine. I was fishing in a nearby lake when it suddenly attacked me. Thank you so much for your help!"
Misty blushed as she spoke, still in awe of Ash's skill during the battle.
She also couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked, which flustered her further.
