The Supreme Overlord (Multicross)

Chapter 33: 32 Distorting the Natural Order

In the luxurious apartment where Natsuki Minamiya resided, Saigou sat in the unlit living room, illuminated only by the glow of the computer screen, reviewing numerous pieces of information about this world.

All this information came from the Itogami Island Management.

Since Natsuki Minamiya activated the spell that made herself an integral part of the Prison Barrier, the Island Management had placed immense trust in this witch.

This governing body of Itogami Island was aware of Natsuki Minamiya's true desire.

They knew that her wish was not actually related to the Prison Barrier. Deep in her heart, what she yearned for was a world where humans and demons could coexist peacefully.

This might be a wish formed from the sorrows she endured during her childhood. As a pure-blooded witch, Natsuki Minamiya was born as a human but had to bid farewell to her human identity from a young age.

It was precisely this desire that had earned Natsuki Minamiya the absolute trust of the Island Management.

Because in the current world, the only place where humans and demons could barely live together as equals was in the Demon Sanctuary.

A witch cannot break her oath, as the price would be her life. For this reason, the Island Management believed that Natsuki Minamiya would undoubtedly protect Itogami Island, the Demon Sanctuary, and would never betray them.

With this trust, Natsuki Minamiya's authority and status on Itogami Island increased daily, allowing her to access some well-kept secrets.

"This is the tedious politics of human society, a group of ordinary people without any real power giving orders to those who wield great strength."

"...Well, it's also because the power in this world has its limits. Even a primogenitor cannot oppose an entire nation single-handedly."

"If someone truly could fight an entire country alone, then they wouldn't need to follow these rules and laws."

Saigou, who had once risen to the top through extraordinary political maneuvers, was well-versed in the ways of politicians.

Yet, Saigou also held them in contempt. To him, absolute power was everything, and all other means were merely auxiliary.

It was only because the level of power in this world was too low that such a situation had arisen.

But if the level of power were higher, the true rulers would only be those who held power, not those who relied on laws between people to control the world.

The world as it stands is still within the bounds of order, and politicians use this order to control everything.

But Saigou was, after all, a demon, and among the six archdemons of Zoroastrianism, one was the Chaos. Thus, Saigou looked down on this so-called order.

However, thanks to Natsuki Minamiya's increased authority, Saigou was now able to learn more about the world through the rulers of Itogami Island.

"The Fourth Primogenitor... Sinful God Cain... the Great Cleansing..."

Saigou stroked his chin. While there was a lot of information about Itogami Island, it wasn't comprehensive. Especially concerning events that took place thousands of years ago, the records here were merely conjectures.

To truly understand the more detailed history, one would probably have to seek out the three progenitors.

"The Great Cleansing... an interesting thing. The information and materials given to Natsuki-chan by the management are also somewhat vague in some parts."

"...It seems that some things are still being kept hidden. No matter, they can't escape anyway. Once I get the chance to deal with them, I'll know everything I want."

Saigou sneered coldly. The people of this world live according to order, but as an outsider demon, Saigou cares nothing for it.

To kill when he wanted to kill, to destroy when he wanted to destroy—such was his unrestrained nature. After all, in Yggdrasill, his morality score was negative.

If it weren't for the contract with Natsuki Minamiya, which allowed Saigou to extract the nourishment of this world to fuel his growth, he would have already created havoc without a second thought.

His essence resided in that dark space, and even if he were to encounter an unbeatable enemy and be killed in this world, he would be reborn in that darkness.

The only ones who could truly kill him were probably those who had reached the status of Full Authority Domain or 2-Digit beings.

In a way, Natsuki Minamiya had indeed saved this world.

Because of her existence, Saigou, this Chaos Demon, was temporarily restrained.

To obtain the nutrients for his growth, Saigou had also come to enjoy this leisurely life.

However, even in his idle life, Saigou found something interesting.

"The Great Cleansing, according to information found on the internet, is considered a remnant phenomenon from history in the eyes of ordinary people, something akin to an ancient relic."

"...But according to the information from the Island Management, the Great Cleansing is actually a spell initiated by the Sinful God Cain."

"And the function of this spell is to—distort the natural order!"

Seeing the effects of this spell, Saigou's curiosity surged intensely.

How exactly does this spell distort the laws of this world? What are its principles? To what extent and range can it distort? All these questions made Saigou's heart itch with anticipation.

"Although I can continue doing nothing and simply siphon the nutrients of this world, the stillness has made me restless. Perhaps it is time to take action."

Since he was curious about the Cleansing, the obvious course of action was to seize it for himself.

Whether as a human in the past or now as a demon, Saigou has always been relentless in obtaining whatever he desires.

"Cain is too elusive… If I want to uncover everything related to the Cleansing, the most straightforward and clear target is the 'nonexistent' Fourth Primogenitor!"

Saigou quickly identified his primary target.

To achieve his goal, he knew he needed to proceed step by step.

The Fourth Primogenitor, known for having no blood relatives or followers, stands alone, without seeking domination, but commands twelve avatars of calamity as the world's strongest vampire.

To the ordinary people outside, this is just a distant legend, with many believing the so-called Fourth Primogenitor doesn't exist.

However, from the documents of the Island Management and Saigou's own understanding of this world, he certainly knew the so-called Fourth Primogenitor did exist.

In fact, in his quest to find the Cleansing, it would be better to seek out the other three Primogenitors.

But those three Primogenitors have lived for thousands of years, each with their own empire of the dawn, commanding vast forces and territories.

To become an enemy of any Primogenitor is essentially to be an enemy of a powerful nation. Saigou, being alone and not yet having the strength to completely overpower them, realized that directly confronting any of the three progenitors would be unwise.

But the Fourth Primogenitor was different. Without any blood relatives or followers, the Fourth Primogenitor was also alone, and in a one-on-one situation, Saigou had no fear.

"The Primogenitors and their familiars in this world have their merits. All of the Fourth Primogenitor's familiars are weapons with a wide range of destruction, suitable for large-scale battles."

"…These abilities complement mine perfectly, so I should find a way to take them for myself!"

Saigou muttered softly to himself, forming a solid plan.

In truth, Saigou did not possess any significant area-of-effect abilities. Even his contagious Aging was more of a chronic debuff rather than something that could annihilate opponents in one strike.

His abilities were best suited for single combat; the power of Aging could nullify any force, and anyone touched by his deathly aura would have their life force drained away.

Even when facing a siege, Saigou was unafraid, as his abilities could negate all attacks against him.

However, at the same time, Saigou lacked the sheer brute force necessary to destroy everything with a single blow; his power was closer to something more sinister.

Meanwhile, the familiars of the Fourth Primogenitor were vast, catastrophic entities that, in Saigou's eyes, could perfectly compensate for his current shortcomings.

Having made his decision, Saigou stood up and walked to the bedroom of the apartment to glance at the sleeping Natsuki Minamiya.

Although the current Natsuki Minamiya was merely a doll composed of magic and her body did not tire, her mind could not sustain itself indefinitely and still required sleep.

After casting a look at Natsuki Minamiya, Saigou activated his Spatial Manipulation spell, transforming into a burst of black flame and vanishing from the apartment, heading toward the Prison Barrier.
