Chapter 3: 3 - Unfair Situation
Two weeks...
In two weeks, the 2nd semester will start.
There will be a class placement test for a week.
Then after that, the sparring sessions will happen.
In other words...
'I have three weeks left before I get beaten like a dog by the protagonist.'
"Not too long, but not that short either."
I said to myself.
If I can't show any improvements in the sparring sessions, then getting a scholarship will just be a pipe dream.
It's a given that I would lose to the protagonist with my stats and shitty skills, but let's at least try not to be beaten one-sidedly.
So in three weeks, somehow, I need to improve my stats, even for a little.
"Anyway, I'm tired... I already want to rest..."
I'm currently on my way to the Amaya Dormitory.
Where I'm supposed to be staying...
I don't know what time it is exactly, but it's getting dark, so I should probably get going.
*****
After a few minutes of walking, the Amaya Dormitory came into view.
I didn't get lost, as I had memorized the academy's map after playing the game so many times before.
Navigating my way here wasn't actually that hard.
Though, my low stamina points seem to be showing...
"Phew... What the hell..."
I only walked for a few minutes, but I'm already tired...
Also, on my way here, I got a lot of attention.
No one approached me, but everyone's eyes were on me.
I could even hear them murmuring to each other.
'Looks like the news of me being disowned has already spread.'
Anyway, I just ignored them all and thought of plans for the future as I walked...
"Hm?"
But as I got closer to the dormitory, I saw a maid waiting at the entrance, carrying a bag.
'Uh-oh...'
I already had an idea why she was there.
And it wasn't anything good...
Anyway, I walked toward her...
And when I reached her...
"You can't enter here."
She stopped me from going inside the facility.
"Your father... I mean, Duke Gorgon Alvah, revoked your access payment to the Amaya Dormitory."
She explained.
"You must have know that the duke was paying for your special room. But earlier, he sent a letter instructing us to kick you out, as he will no longer be covering for your expenses here."
"Also, because of your recent behavior, the academy will not be providing you a room, even in the normal dormitories, as punishment."
Then she added.
"This is all of your personal belongings."
The maid handed me the bag she was carrying.
I took it from her.
"..."
And just stood there for a few seconds, looking at the maid in front of me...
After that, I nodded and turned my back to her.
"Well then, excuse me."
I left after saying that.
I had predicted something like this. In fact, I had planned to leave the Amaya Dormitory anyway after collecting Raye's stuff.
I knew the cost of staying in a special room was crazy expensive, so I wouldn't have been able to afford it on my own.
But what I didn't expect was that I wouldn't even be given a free room in the normal dormitories...
I didn't make a fuss because that wouldn't change anything.
And I could see a few tenants watching me get evicted.
I didn't want to attract any more attention. I was already embarrassed enough.
That's why I simply left...
So, where will I spend the night?
Well, I already have a place in mind.
"To the library it is..."
The sky is already dark. So I should hurry.
"What a hassle..."
...
*****
"Haaa... Haaaa... Haaaaa..."
I was already out of breath when I reached the library.
It's a bit far from the Amaya Dormitory, and I'm carrying a bag.
It didn't help that Zion Academy is as big as a city.
And that the library is a building of its own, separate from the main facilities.
"My back hurts..."
The library is like a massive mansion with five floors.
And right now, I'm on the 2nd floor.
It's pretty late, probably around 9 pm, if I had to guess.
There's no one around. I'm all alone in this dark, empty part of the library.
The library is open to everyone all the time, but no one would be here this late...
They would've just checked out the books they wanted and read them in their rooms.
"..."
Tap- tap- tap-
Anyway, I went to a corner of the floor and found a study table meant for four people.
I sat down and placed all my belongings under the table.
I took a few books from nearby and placed them on the table to use as a pillow.
Then I lay my head on the books.
'I'm so tired.'
I thought as I closed my eyes.
Then everything that happened today rushed back into my mind...
...
"It's unfair."
I mumbled.
I remembered all those eyes on me, filled with hate and contempt.
The whispers they exchanged about me...
"It's unfair."
My voice cracked...
I grew annoyed. I clenched my fists and bit my lips...
I remembered everyone shooing me away.
Even though I don't know any of them...
'It's so unfair...'
I didn't want any of this.
Why me?
I didn't do anything wrong...
I was just playing alone in my room, having fun...
I'm not Raye...
I hate this.
'It's so frustrating!'
It's not like I want everyone to like me...
But at least, I don't want to be hated for something I didn't even do.
I acted like everything was fine earlier, but it wasn't!
It's so fucking unfair!
Bam!
I slammed my fist on the table in anger.
With my strength stat, it didn't break. I was the one who got hurt, if anything...
But I still did it anyway.
Bam!
The next strike came harder.
Bam!
The sound echoed in the empty library, but there's no one around so I just went and vent my anger...
Bam!
My hand ached, but I hit again, to release my frustrations.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
'I don't even have a place to stay at!'
It was so absurd, my whole life changed in a single day...
I'm surprised I managed to stay composed till now.
But when I became alone and was able to relax even for a little...
It all just came rushing to me.
So damn intense that I started to cry...
I know crying won't change the situation I'm in, but I'm still just a normal human...
Bam!
"Fuck... Sniff... Fucking hell... It's cold."
...
...
That night...
I cried myself to sleep.
