Chapter 77: Chapter 77

(A/N: Merry Christmas y'all! I hope you had a wonderful time. I had a special christmas chapter written, but I wasn't too sure if should upload it. Anyway, question: What is your favorite Chrsitmas song? Mine is Run, Rudolph, Run. The version I like best is by Foo Fighters.)

After Hinata saw Artoria ride off, she quickly started returning to Luminous'. On her way she saw many knights and people freaking out. The knights were ready for a fight and the civilians were scared and on edge. The saints were going around trying to calm everyone down until they had more information. Hinata remembered what Artoria said and tried it out. She told everyone that it was just their goddess Luminous sending a message to her followers and since Hinata was the one saying it, everyone just believed her and accepted. If anything it probably increased the faith of the people drastically more.

Once that was dealt with, Hinata went to Luminous' room. As she made her way there, she thought about Artoria, and while she wouldn't say anything, she understood Luminous' perspective much better as well as her feelings. But after reading what the paper from Artoria said, she knew it was a losing battle for Luminous. Well, more like a battle she lost before she was even able to start.

As she was about to knock, she was interrupted before she could by Luminous. "Come in, Hinata." Hianta noticed the rushed and eager tone of her voice, and something else, but she sighed and shook her head. To her, it seemed that Luminous was becoming something of a hopeless romantic. As she opened the door to enter, Luminous immediately went to her and gave her an empty journal and a pencil.

"I want you to write down in excruciating detail what you witnessed. I want every word she said, every emotion she displayed, every detail about her attire and weapons, every detail of her body from hair, eyes, skin, lips…everything! I want to know her environment, what she looked like when she was attacking, the whole thing. Don't leave anything behind." Luminous rambled on and on, but Hinata was able to understand everything. She has somehow fallen even harder. That and was in for a long writing session.

"Lady Luminous, didn't you see what happened? I'm sure you saw at least some of it."

"I did see it, but you were much closer, and thus, able to provide more detail. So go, write, I need it as soon as possible."

Hinata was having a hard time getting through to her, so she showed her the paper Artoria gave her. "Lady Luminous, Artoria gave me this. You should read it."

Luminous snatched the paper quickly and quickly read through it, but the only words she read and focused on were "invitation", "celebration", "festival', and "feast". "This is a clear message, Hinata, she's inviting me to her nation, I must be getting through to her."

Hinata resisted the urge to facepalm and sigh at what Luminous said. She took deep breaths to compose herself. But she really started to feel bad for Luminous. "I'll start writing, Lady Luminous, but may I ask why you need so much detail?"

"Of course you can, Hinata. The Walpurgis is soon, and I need your description and details of Artoria and what happened for it." Hinata nodded. She thought that perhaps Luminous still had a rational thought in her. Maybe Luminous isn't as hopeless as she thought from earlier. Maybe she wants this information to report to the demon lords.

"Guy Crimson has a maid that I've heard is very good at painting. I plan on asking him to let me borrow her services during the Walpurgis. He should say yes since we'll all be there very close to each other. It would be something trivial for him, maybe even amusing."

Hinata closed her eyes, taking more breaths to calm herself. Several thoughts were going through her mind, but one thing was certain, the situation at hand was worse than initially thought. She could only hope and pray for Luminous' sanity. Wait… wouldn't she be praying to Luminous for…Luminous' well-being? This was truly a hard situation to face, but she would have to face it nonetheless. So, she got to writing.

(A few hours later)

Hinata wrote fast. Very fast. She wanted to take a break many times, but Luminous watched her like a hawk, observing every little scribble of the pen. For those hours, the only sound that could be heard was that of a pen writing. Eventually, she finished and handed it over to Luminous, who quickly proceeded to read everything with a smile on her face.

"I'm impressed, Hinata. You wrote very fast. Almost like you were in a rush. How do you write like you're running out of time? Well, it doesn't matter, I love what is on here. I'll be back later." Luminous left the room to do whatever she was going to do. Hinata sighed and rubbed her wrist, slightly fatigued from writing so much, at least Luminous won't have to deal with that…maybe. Who knows what she's going to do with what she wrote before the Walpurgis?

She looked at the invitation again and noticed something about it. The light was hitting it in a way that made it transparent and she could see some writing on the back. Curious, she took it and flipped it over.

'Hey, Hinata, if you're resting this, this is serving as a warning. I'm not sure if it will happen, but what Luminous has is too important to ignore, so it might still happen since it's too crucial and important. During the Walpurgis, I want you and your saints to protect the location around the Holy Ark. Don't ask how I know, I just do. There's going to be a clown named Laplace trying to look for it and steal it. Or at the very least, try to get information about it. Your task is simple, I want you to kill him and make sure he can't come back to life. I want you to destroy his physical, spiritual, and astral body. I want you and your saints to fight like your lives are on the line. This will help avoid any casualties or grievous injuries. Below you will find a list and description of some of his abilities. And remember, that is an order."

Hinata's eyes widened at the information on here. Countless thoughts were going through her mind. Various possible explanations of how she knew and what she knew. Her hands shook a bit at the various possible implications of her knowing this information. Either she had the best and most elite information network that somehow could infiltrate the most secure places, or she had some kind of terrifying ability. Either way, she would have to trust her…because it was an order. And who would deny an order from the King of Knights?

Hinata didn't know it, but Artoria's presence and influence had already got to her.

(2 days later)

'Fast'. 'Keep going'. Those were the thoughts going through Artoria's mind as she pushed Dun Stallion to keep moving. She blazed a trail of dust and dirt as she moved. She traveled through various western states and other countries rapidly, looking like a white and silver blur. She didn't take a single stop. Originally, her trip from Tempest to Lubellious took almost a week, but her return trip back is taking two days. As she traveled, the town started to finally come into view.

'Maybe I made it in time. Yeah, I had to have made it in time. Dun Stallion was running like his tail was on fire.' Artoria thought to herself as she finally arrived. She whizzed past the entrance before coming to a hard stop as Dun Stallion did a little slide that kicked up dust. Artoria got off Dun Stallion and was immediately greeted by an excited and relieved looking Rigurd.

"Ah, Lady Pendragon, what wonderful timing!"

As Artoria heard that she got nervous. Two things went across her mind. One, she arrived just in time to be taken to the Walpurgis, or two, she arrived after the Walpurigs had already started and arrived in time for the town to not be left without leadership.

But the second option can't be true, right? She moved at absolute breakneck speed. So, it must be the first-

"Lord Rimuru just left for Walpurgis with all the Demon Lords! He also took Lady Shion and Sir Benimaru with him. We were a little worried about what we were going to do without you or Lord Rimuru here." Rigurd's words hit Artoria like a kick from a horse.

"Rigurd, when you mean 'they just left', how long ago are you talking about?"

"Hmm…about an hour ago. They were looking for you, and when Lord Rimuru told them that you were in Lubellious, they sent some people there, and when you didn't answer, they assume you were on your way back, so they sent even more people along various different spots for people to rest at, but hey never found you, so they went without you."

"Oh…really? Well…I'm back now, so you don't need to worry. You're dismissed, Rigurd."

"Understood, Lady Pendragon. I'll await any orders you have." and with that, Rigurd left. Leaving Artoria alone as she look down at the ground.

"This is truly a sad day. This will be very hard to recover from." Artoria let out a sigh and went to her home, hoping to find Shuna.

As Artoria made her way home, a somber and downcast aura emanated from her. As she got closer she started smelling something delicious. Something very delicious. She opened the door to her home and saw Shuna making food. A lot of it.

"Shuna?" Artoria called out to Shuna.

Shuna, who was cooking food, looked back and saw Artoria. She immediately put on the biggest smile she has had in the past few days. She quickly stopped what she was doing, and went over to hug Artoria. 'You're back!"

Artoria hugged her back, feeling the relief and happiness radiating from Shuna. "Yeah, I'm back." Arotria said with a soft and caring tone.

"Come on, I made some food for you. For some reason, I felt like I should make a lot of food, and now I see why. Come, you'll love what I've made for you." Shuna eagerly took Artoria's hand and led her to the table where Artoria proceeded to sit down.

As soon as she sat down, Shuna put two plates in front of her. One had a loaded baked potato with steak cut up in cubes. The other had a very interesting looking desert that Artoria couldn't guess.

"Since you like steaks, and baked potatoes. I thought about combining them. I made a normal baked potato, and then I cut up some steak in cubes and put them on there. The other dish is a type of 'cinnamon roll sandwich' as I call it."

Artoria was intrigued and interested in this "cinnamon roll sandwich". "What do you mean by that, Shuna?"

"So basically, I made two cinnamon rolls, and while they were still raw, I put pecan pie-filling in between them. After that, I fried them to seal it. And then, I put some cinnamon sugar on top of it, followed by a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and then a drizzle of caramel."

Artoria's eyes went wide hearing her description. She might as well have been drooling. She took a fork and tried it. As she did her eyes were stunned at how good it was. She wanted to say something, but Shuna stopped her.

'I already know what you want to say, and don't worry. I've taken care of it." Shuna took a cloth and uncovered two more trays of the "cinnamon roll sandwiches." and two more trays of steak loaded baked potatoes. Artoria, seeing this, got up from her chair and gave Shuna a big hug, carrying her and twirling her in the air while giving her a passionate kiss.

"Shuna, have I told you how much I love you?"

"You have. Many times. Can you please put me down?"

"Oh, yeah, right." Artoria set Shuna down and got back to eating. Needless to say, Artoria got her feast. Who cares about Walpurgis? It's not like it's anything important. What was she going to do differently from what she was doing now?
