The Ultimate Weapon of Magic and Science

Chapter 25: 10. Blade Wing (Part Two)

The knights, who were quieting down from the disorderly queue, had no idea what kind of sudden change had occurred.

Various animals in the forest seemed to be fleeing in panic as if frightened all at once. The warhorses also got frightened and began to jump around. Before they could rein in their horses to halt the commotion, the seemingly unremarkable forest in front of them exploded all at once.

Rows of trees were chopped down, the invisible blade faced the nearest crowd without any hindrance. The meticulously crafted armor, constantly honed muscles and bones, and warhorses that had accompanied them in battle - nothing that blocked the trajectory of the blade would hinder it or delay it in the slightest. They were cut apart like paper, and then these fragments, having lost their original form, were caught up by the following gust of wind, ground into pieces, crushed, torn open, and stirred - mangled into unidentifiable blobs and discarded on the cracked ground.

The out-of-the-blue and far beyond the realm of common sense assault caused dozens of knights' combat power to disappear from the world in what could be considered an "instant". Suppressing the almost overbearing impulse to scream, the commanders, who had fully entered combat mode, immediately set about restraining their bewildered troops and horses. Soldiers who had experienced carnage and death in battle had also reined in their horses and clamped their legs on the horses' bodies to calm the chaotic ride.

Due to this chaotic scene and the flying dust, no one noticed when the armorless young boy - the target of this operation, had arrived on this battlefield.

The black-haired boy with exotic features stood quietly on the overturned black soil. His bright red eyes reflected a cold light, and his lips traced a line that seemed mocking.

The warriors watched, dumbstruck by this never before seen or heard of figure. Allured by the mystique radiant like a black diamond, their gazes and attention were wholly drawn. Their stare strayed from the face to the young man's back, and objects far more unusual than those in there resuscitated their stalled vigilance and killing intent instantly.

Three pairs of wings hung towards the ground, symmetrically displayed on either side of the young man's waist.

Whether the six thin objects could be called "wings" remained a question—neither the feathered wings of birds nor the membranous wings of dragons or bats. They emitted a metallic luster similar to a silver mirror, and they were drawn in beautiful curves, like very thin blades wrongly forged into the shape of wings—Guillotines adorning a lily's curve.

The foreign young man, carrying the strange objects, majestically stepped into the enemy lines with hundreds of remaining soldiers.

"Analyzing their reaction speed, on-spot handling, their training level is above expected. Hmm...they can be deemed as a unit with decent combat experience."

The boy's muttering was filled with obscure terms, almost as if he was translating phrases from another world into the language of this world, and the intense dissonance created a churning sense of unease in the soldiers. Even if the boy was praising the knights, the contempt and insult poking through his seemingly nonchalant demeanor and enigmatic smirk, following his heinous surprise attack, was unmistakable in the eyes of the knights— the audience— the sacrifices.

Naturally—

Everyone was enraged;

They erupted.

"Come and claim your life, monster!"

"Die!"

"I'll take the head of the heretic!"

The knights closest to the boy, unable to suppress the rush of impulses, pulled out their arms without waiting for the command. They urged their steeds to charge at the target who stood still without even shifting his gaze. Under the stimulation of excitement and surprise, they roared as they charged. Simultaneously, they raised their swords high above their heads, their eyes fixated on the delicate neck that seemed as if it could be snapped off with a light touch.

Whoosh——!!

The gust of wind brushed past the hair, the young man moved without warning.

That movement was so fast that human dynamic vision couldn't trace the action or its influence, unable to realize that the young man has acted.

But it was just a slight touch—

The three pairs of wings behind him;

Seemed to tremble just a bit.

"Evaluation result—"

Ignoring the surroundings, ignoring the circumstances, ignoring the people around him, the boy started to mutter to himself without fitting in with anything. Nobody cared about his words, just as he didn't seem to care about the world around him. The knights, who had turned into bloodthirsty beasts, weren't going to be distracted by any last words. All they wanted to see was fresh blood spewing forth and heads spinning in the air, smashing into the ground.

Splatter——!!!

Crimson liquid sprayed into the air, staining the bluish sky with ominous spots. The neatly cut heads, limbs, chest, and abdomen all fell from the previously tightly connected body, leaving behind expressions of surprise on this world.

"It takes about 3 seconds to kill."

A conclusion devoid of warmth.

A judgment as well as an end.

The[Blade.Wings]once again began their dance of death, these triple wings, made from tightly interconnected nano-machinery, were weapons more durable, sharper, and better at handling temperature changes, greater in elasticity, and nearly as pliable as fluid than any known material in this world. As Li Lin manipulated various formulas and diagrams, they could change into whips, spears, hammers, blades, etc., their sharpness comparable to high-power laser cutting beams used in large engineering projects.

Neither armors nor flesh could possibly be stronger than the outer walls of a space colony or extra-large synthetic reinforced diamonds. There was no sound, and even pain was imperceptible when they were cut into two.

At this moment, these deadly wings were moving at three times the speed of sound. Regardless of their inherent sharpness, the kinetic energy from their high-speed movement and their secondary effects alone were enough to kick all the remaining knights straight into hell.

"When an object moves in the air, it changes the surrounding air pressure, producing[sound waves], which are the transmission of sound in the air. However, when the object that emits the[sound wave] is moving faster than the speed of sound, the continuously superimposed[sound waves]will form a highly destructive[shock wave]. The power of these waves far exceeds that of[Wind Blade], which compresses the air."

Nidhogg, his eyes narrowed to slits, took in the horrifying scene of boiling hell while he non-stop showed off his new knowledge.

"This power is even stronger than I imagined. The damage alone from the secondary effects is enough to shock those iron-headed knights. Those who were directly hit were blown to ashes."

"Who...exactly is he? What...is he...?"

The elf let out a weak voice from his throat, not because of the physical exhaustion from his yet-unrecovered state, but a pure sense of powerlessness after his spirit was hit hard.

The 500 knights were all engraved into his brain, witnessed not with Nidhogg's excellent vision developed for spotting prey from high altitude, but his own vision that was decently better than a human's.

"Isn't it obvious?"

The child who turned to face him had a proud smile on his face, and his eyes revealed unreserved awe.

"The one who brings change to this monotonous world, who will ultimately rule over the world, my own supreme lord whom I serve."
