Chapter 6: Chapter 6 One Foot
In the training ground of the security department of Yongjia Hotel.
Lin Tian followed Song Manshan into the area, naturally unaware of what had happened to Jiann Xinzhu who fainted outside.
"Now, I'll give you a chance to explain, or a chance to defeat me. Otherwise, I will directly break your arms and legs on the grounds of stealing the company's top-secret information and throw you out of the hotel!"
Song Manshan turned around, his gaze sharp as a knife as he stared at Lin Tian, his words ice-cold.
Within the training ground, the dozens of security guards present couldn't help but stir upon hearing Song Manshan's words, whispering among themselves.
Stealing the hotel's top-secret information? And he dared to challenge Minister Song? Is he tired of living or what?
"An explanation? Minister Song, I don't think there's anything to explain! As I said earlier, I need to review the hotel's surveillance footage!"
Lin Tian shook his head slightly and spoke with a calm face, "As for defeating you, I think it's too easy, not challenging at all, not worth my effort! Why don't we all just be civil? You take me to see the surveillance footage, I'll leave once I've seen it, and we can both go on without issue. Wouldn't that be nice?"
What? Is this guy here to joke around? Defeating Minister Song is too easy? Not challenging? Utterly arrogant! He's totally oblivious of heaven's height and earth's depth!
The dozens of security guards on the ground clenched their fists tightly one by one, their eyes sharp as blades, looking at Lin Tian as if they were just waiting for Song Manshan's order to pounce on him.
This destitute kid in front of them doesn't even care about Minister Song!
And if they, the dozens of guards, were not even close to matching Song Manshan in skill, and this kid looked down on Minister Song, then it was akin to despising them. How could they not be outraged!
"Defeating me is too easy, not challenging? Since that's the case, then I, the minister, will let you taste a bloody scene from the battlefield that you have never experienced before!"
Song Manshan's voice carried strands of coldness, like millennia-old ice emanating, obviously, at this moment his anger had reached its peak.
A bloody scene he'd never experienced?
Lin Tian couldn't help but smile wryly and shake his head.
In his past life as the almighty Immortal Venerable, he had ventured through the Nine Abyss Demon Cave and traversed the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands. What kind of bloodshed, what kind of horror hadn't he seen?
Seeing that Lin Tian could still smile, Song Manshan's face grew even darker, ready to make his move.
"Elder Song, why would you need to act against such a destitute weakling? You'd be demeaning yourself!"
Just then, a short, muscular security guard with a murderous aura stepped out, his tongue licking his lips as he sneered at Lin Tian.
Seeing this, Song Manshan stopped his hand and frowned slightly. After a long moment, he nodded and sighed, "I still can't control my temper. It seems the injuries I sustained in that battle at the Southern Border are indeed difficult to heal... I fear..."
At this, Song Manshan paused, and finally spoke coldly, "Break his legs, and throw him out! Bin City has been unstable these past few days; we need to intensify our training to improve our combat power. We have no time to dawdle!"
"Yes!"
Having received the order, the short guard's eyes gleamed as he was about to pounce on Lin Tian.
"Just him by himself? You're sending him to his death!"
Looking at the approaching short guard, Lin Tian shook his head helplessly, "If you and the others came at me together, maybe you'd have a sliver of a chance, but alas!"
"Arrogant!"
The dozens of security guards shouted in unison, unable to contain their fury at being so belittled by a young man.
Song Manshan's forehead throbbed with bulging veins, and his eyes emitted fire.
"Watch carefully!"
Suddenly, Lin Tian bellowed, and before the short security guard could make a move, he shot a foot up so fiercely that Song Manshan and the others felt it was not merely a foot being raised but a mountain soaring into the sky. It carried the momentum capable of splitting mountains and breaking rivers, imposing an endless pressure.
Boom~~
The foot that Lin Tian raised came crashing down, falling back onto the training ground floor with the force of Mount Taishan descending. The instantaneous loud noise was like thunder exploding, as the floor beneath shattered like a spider web. A punching bag placed in a corner of the wall burst into pieces as if struck by an invisible force.
What terrified Song Manshan and the others even more was that, during this moment, the entire Yongjia Hotel building shook as if hit by an earthquake for several seconds. Objects from the upper floors crashed to the ground with clattering sounds, continually reaching their ears, causing everyone present to lose their footing.
As the loud noise subsided, the building regained its calm, but the vast training ground was barely recognizable, with nearly no spot intact. The nearby punching bag had disintegrated into dust.
"You... you..."
Song Manshan's face turned deathly pale. His eyes, which were once sharp as a knife, now only displayed endless horror, and he could not articulate a complete sentence for a long while.
The previously boisterous security guards were now slumped on the ground, staring at the destructive power of Lin Tian's foot, each of their faces blanching as they swallowed hard in secret.
The short security guard, originally ready to intervene, now stood still, looking at Lin Tian with sheer panic, not daring to make a single move.
A single stomp had cracked the floor, shaken the hotel building as if it were an earthquake, trembling mountains and rivers—what kind of terrifying strength would that require?
After a moment,
Song Manshan finally suppressed the immense shock in his heart, but still asked in a quivering voice, "Could it be... are you a Martial Arts Grandmaster?"
This teenager, only seventeen or eighteen years of age, a peerless Martial Arts Grandmaster?
The other security guards stared wide-eyed, their expressions filled with deep fear, and yet, there was also an undeniable longing and admiration that they couldn't hide.
Lin Tian shook his head, neither affirming nor denying. He only stated indifferently, "I do not know of this 'Martial Arts Grandmaster,' but taking your life is a hundred times easier for me than shaking this entire building or pulverizing that sandbag!"
Hearing this, Song Manshan shivered, then forced a wry smile onto his face and muttered to himself, "Indeed... A peerless Martial Arts Grandmaster, why would such a being care for such an empty title! To injure an opponent from afar, the Hundred-step Divine Fist, to breathe thunder, to cause mountains and rivers to tremble with a mere wave of the hand! You may not claim this empty title, sir, but such feats can only be accomplished by a Martial Arts Grandmaster! Today, I, Song Manshan, was blind and have offended a master. It is yours to decide my fate! I only beg you to spare the brothers behind me..."
"Boss, we share fortune and misfortune together! What does it matter if he is a Martial Arts Grandmaster? If he wants to kill us, then we'll just die together!"
At this point, the short security guard regained his courage from the fear, stepped forward with a stiff neck, and defiantly declared.
Seeing this, the other security guards also stepped forward one after another, facing Lin Tian squarely. Although fear was still unmistakable in their eyes, not a single one backed down.
"Silence!"
Song Manshan roared furiously, scolding his subordinates, "A Grandmaster wouldn't stoop to argue with you. The trouble today was instigated by me; I will bear the consequences!"
Having said that, Song Manshan faced Lin Tian and bowed deeply, his face bearing a resigned expression.
Song Manshan had heard about Martial Arts Grandmasters in the army through his instructors, and had always treated such tales as legends.
Even his instructor, who had reached the Xuan-level of martial artists, deeply aspired to and revered them.
His instructor would often tell them that Martial Arts Grandmasters were invincible beings of legend, capable of shaking the entire Huaxia just by stomping their foot.
The number of Martial Arts Grandmasters in Huaxia was exceedingly rare, elusive as divine dragons, some stationed at the heart of the nation, others as free as clouds and wild cranes, their whereabouts difficult to trace.
Such beings were simply beyond reach for regular soldiers in the Special Forces like themselves.
Yet now, Song Manshan could never have imagined he and his colleagues had offended a Martial Arts Grandmaster—and a seventeen or eighteen-year-old one at that—leaving him in utter dread.
It would be effortless for the other party to take his life. Even if the police were to arrive, facing a Martial Arts Grandmaster, not to mention arresting him, they wouldn't dare even the slightest offensive action. Thus, Song Manshan was acutely aware of the dreadfulness of a Martial Arts Grandmaster and had completely resigned himself to his fate.
