Chapter 81 - Breakfast
“Argh! It’s that damn Phantom Thief again! Aaaahhh!!”
Kim Garam screamed.
When you’re gaming, it’s common to win and lose repeatedly.
Still, Kim Garam thought of himself as someone decent at games. After all, he had climbed up to Diamond rank.
However, every time he queued for a match, he often got matched with ‘DucalFamily’sGlory.’
Two or three times out of five matches, perhaps.
“Aurora, seriously….”
Kim Garam sighed deeply.
He felt like he had seen that name before, so he searched it up and discovered it was the VTuber, Aurora.
She was even streaming for over 100 hours at that moment. She hadn’t stopped and kept queuing continuously. Has she really gone mad?
Her gameplay was excellent, and each game finished quickly. She queued non-stop until the login restriction hit, and even then, she barely slept.
So, avoiding Aurora while queuing was no easy task.
‘…Maybe I should stop playing ranked for a while.’
He could win when Aurora hit her login restriction.
But as soon as the restriction lifted, he’d run into her again.
Sometimes, they were on the same team, and he’d get carried. But what annoyed him the most was that whenever he was in a promotion match, Aurora always showed up as the gatekeeper.
“Should I just say something to Aurora…?”
Like how her constant queuing was keeping him from ranking up. …Was that too pathetic?
While he agonized over it, his phone alarm went off.
“Oh, right. I forgot.”
Kim Garam hurriedly turned off the alarm and started his stream.
【Labyrinthos】 Solo queue today again! 【Machina/SerenadeKR】

【You have exceeded the recommended VR usage time.】
【It is advised to have a meal and hydrate.】
【For the user’s health, you will be logged out in 30 minutes.】
A warning message popped up.
I had no choice but to leave the VR capsule for a meal.
“Is anyone here?”
As I stepped out of the capsule, I glanced around. No one was sitting at the previously bustling PCs.
It was 9:12 AM.
I wondered if everyone had gone home, but four tracking phones were still in place. It seemed like everyone was just still asleep.
“It’s an awkward time. I want to order breakfast, but I don’t know if any stores are open.”
I muttered to the mounted microphone.
Even though it was early, there were still several hundred viewers watching my stream.
They were probably either people who hadn’t slept yet, were on their way to work, or had nothing better to do.
The viewers were chatting away, but there wasn’t anything that stood out enough for me to respond to.
The broadcast time had now exceeded 200 hours.
Not much real-world time had passed, but the broadcast time had piled up considerably thanks to the time acceleration system.
Before the stream started, Chel had been staying at my place for a while, and it seemed like Sora and Anna didn’t plan to go home either. Lately, they’d been borrowing Rion’s computer and taking turns streaming themselves.
They were worried about me pushing myself too hard, so it seemed they planned to stay until I climbed to Master rank.
‘At the latest, I should be done in 2 or 3 days.’
My current Gate Assault Mode rank was Diamond 1.
Even in Duel Mode, which I had been playing on the side, I was also at Diamond 1.
I expected to be in my promotion matches for Gate Assault Mode today or tomorrow, and though I had lost a few recent games in Duel Mode, having tried all characters, the short playtime meant it wouldn’t take long to finish.
Wasn’t there less than a week left until the Fantasy League submission deadline?
Plenty of time.
“…What, you’re already up?”
The door opened, and Sora walked in.
Her hair was slightly damp, and she was dressed simply in a short-sleeved white T-shirt. It seemed she had just taken a shower.
“I was just about to order breakfast. Any recommendations?”
“Hmmm….”
Sora frowned slightly.
“I could just make breakfast….”
Sora mumbled, sounding conflicted.
Then she shook her head a couple of times and said,
“Never mind. Don’t order. I’ll cook.”
“Come on~. Cooking for four is tough, isn’t it? Let’s just order something.”
That comment came from Anna, who had followed behind unnoticed.
She looked rather disheveled. She was still in her pajamas, and even had sleep in her eyes. It seemed she had come straight over without washing up.
“I’ll order. Anything you want?”
“…Anna-senior, if you keep ordering delivery food like this, you’re going to gain weight. Especially since you hardly ever exercise.”
“That’s such a low blow…”
Anna shrank back immediately.
It was a scene I had been witnessing frequently these past few days.
Anna, who wanted to spend money, and Sora, who preferred cooking herself. Their opinions always clashed whenever it was mealtime.
If Chel was a cat who knew how to clean, then Anna was just a regular cat. If she weren’t adorable, I would’ve kicked her out ages ago.
Her only redeeming quality was being a rich cat, I suppose.
Knowing she wasn’t much help around the house, Anna always tried to pay for everything.
On the other hand, Sora had recently developed a strange sense of pride in her cooking.
Chel had been staying with us for so long that she had become an expert at cleaning, and maybe because of that, Sora didn’t want to let go of the kitchen.
But making meals for four people every time seemed like a lot of work for her.
“Anyway, I’ll cook, so just wait.”
And when Anna and Sora’s opinions clashed, Sora usually won.
To be honest, Anna had long lost her authority as a senior. She had been outshined by the 6th Gen VTubers for a while, and it wouldn’t be surprising if even Inagika started addressing her informally soon.
After waking up Chel, who was still sleeping in late, we ate the breakfast that Sora had made at the computer.
“So, what’s everyone’s plan for today?”
Even though I was the homeowner, the stream owner, and the channel owner, I didn’t impose anything on my guests.
If they wanted to leave, they could leave. If they wanted to stay, they could stay.
However, if they stayed, they had to help around the house. That was the only condition for staying as a guest.
In other words, as long as they followed that rule, they were free to do whatever they wanted.
“I was thinking of watching your rank climb with the viewers today. But isn’t that a bit repetitive?”
Anna said.
“It’s starting to get a little dull since it’s been the same thing. Though, the stream itself seems to be getting some attention.”
“Is that so?”
“A VTuber streaming for 200 hours straight is a first.”
“We’ve already hit 200 hours?”
“Yeah. Usually, 24-hour streams are considered normal.”
Sora chimed in, and Anna added her thoughts.
A 24-hour stream.
After streaming for over 200 hours, the number 24 seemed so small.
But streaming for 24 hours without sleeping was supposed to be a big deal.
“And even when people do 24-hour streams, they usually split the content into parts—like part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4. It’s rare to stick to a single piece of content the whole time.”
That made sense too. If the same screen stayed up for 24 hours straight, people would get bored.
In fact, after my stream passed the 100-hour mark, I noticed a significant drop in live viewers.
Ironically, I seemed to have higher viewer numbers during the content breaks that occurred during login restrictions.
“But I have no intention of stopping my rank climb.”
“I figured… But it’d be nice if we could change things up a bit.”
“I’ve got an idea.”
Chel raised her hand.
Chel had an idea?
“How about karaoke?”
***
It had been a while since I entered Rion’s room. I almost never walked in there myself.
The interior of Rion’s room gave off a distinctly feminine vibe. Quite different from mine.
I didn’t really care about interior design in the real world either.
As a noblewoman, I did know how to make a room look luxurious. At first, I even considered decorating my room in an aristocratic style.
But being fancy meant having more decorations, which wasn’t very practical.
I just wanted to play games. So, while my room was sleek and modern, Rion’s room had a more cute and cozy feel.
“I just realized, this room is soundproofed?”
“Rion-senior used to do a few singing streams.”
“Oh, really?”
Sora casually sat down at Rion’s desk and started messing with the computer.
After inputting the password that Rion had sent via private message, she began fiddling with various settings.
“Karaoke seems doable. Everything’s already set up.”
“Oh.”
This was an unexpected gain.
Since my room wasn’t soundproofed, singing would’ve likely disturbed the neighbors.
“Okay, let’s start the stream.”
Sora launched the streaming program.
And the stream began.
【Karaoke Collab】 Singing nonstop until Laura finishes her rank climb 【Ayanokouji Sora and others/EYEAI】
“Mic test, mic test. Can you hear me? This is Ayanokouji Sora, 6th Gen VTuber bard from EYEAI~
We’ll be taking turns singing until Laura finishes her rank climb.
Laura said it’d take about 2 or 3 days, so we’ll keep this going somehow.
Let’s begin!”
In a small one-room apartment in Tokyo at midnight──I was dreaming.
