The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 169: Chapter 172 OK

Carl's body was a little stiff.

Fortunately, after closing the door, the Governor released his hand that was holding Carl's shoulder.

This made Carl feel slightly relieved.

Instinctively, he turned his head and looked around the room.

It felt somewhat familiar. There was a round table as soon as I entered the door, and a display cabinet on the right with some artworks on it. My dagger was also there.

Carl remembered this place. Michonne's knife should have been placed there.

At the back was a window letting in white light. It was spacious, but it didn't look like a bedroom.

The Governor walked aside and said, "Karl, I know that is your dagger, I will not possess it, but you don't need it now, you can leave it here first."

"Okay, it's really not necessary. It's safe here." Carl nodded slightly and looked away.

"By the way, your dagger is very special and sharp. How did you get it?"

The Governor took out a bottle of whiskey from the wine cabinet nearby, poured it into a wide-mouthed glass, put down the bottle, held the glass on the wine cabinet, gently shook the liquid in the glass, and looked at Carl.

"My father left this behind. It was his treasure before the end of the world." Carl answered without hesitation. This level of lie was easy for Carl to come up with.

"No offense, you are beginning to be curious about your father, but there is no rush." The Governor took a sip of whiskey with an inexplicable smile on his face.

Karl pursed his lips slightly and said nothing more, but he inevitably became nervous in his heart.

The governor didn't say anything else, he just kept drinking. He seemed a little anxious, so he drank quickly and soon the glass was empty.

The Governor put the glass aside, without any intention of refilling it, and walked over to Carl and grabbed Carl's wrist.

The grip was a bit tight, and Karl didn't dare to struggle, so he could only quickly say, "It hurts, Governor."

"Sorry, come with me, I'll introduce you to a friend." Having said that, the Governor's hand did not relax at all.

Carl was forcefully pulled towards the display case, and only then did Carl discover a family photo next to the case, which showed the Governor's family of three.

There was a small door next to the display case, and Carl immediately remembered where this place was and what was behind the door.

Damn it! The Governor doesn't want me to become his collection!

How could I forget the governor's perverted hobby of collecting human heads? Damn it!

Carl began to struggle subconsciously.

"Hey, good boy, don't move. You'll be obedient, right? Unless you want me to break your arm."

The Governor was still smiling, but this smile had a twisted meaning, and he increased the strength in his hands.

Carl's wrist was pinched so hard that it hurt, and he couldn't break free. Carl gave up struggling. With his current strength, it was simply unrealistic to resist the Governor.

"Governor, what are you doing?" Carl asked tremblingly.

"Carl, you are a smart boy. As long as you behave yourself, I won't hurt you. Do you understand?" The Governor reduced his force slightly.

"Well, I...I will be obedient." Carl said in a crying voice.

"Good boy, I'm just introducing you to a friend." The Governor still smiled and opened the small door in front of him.

Then, he dragged Carl inside. It was very dark in there and he could only see a little bit clearly.

Carl looked around. There was no glass display case as he remembered, and no human head. Was it taken away on purpose? Or was it never there in the first place?

The Governor closed the door and dragged Karl inside. He showed a very gentle smile on his face, a very real smile, and called softly in a low voice:

"Penny, Penny, Daddy is here. Daddy is here to see you."

"Uh uh…"

Suddenly, there was a roar and the sound of chains colliding in the darkness, and a figure appeared in Carl's eyes.

His hands were tied and chains were attached, his head was covered, and he was even shorter than Carl.

Carl remembered, Penny, the Governor's daughter.

What does the Governor want to do? Feed himself to her daughter? It shouldn't be that bad...

"Penny, don't get excited, it's daddy, it's daddy, daddy is here to see you."

The Governor let go of Carl and hugged Penny, patting her back soothingly.

"Uh uh uh..."

Carl saw that Penny's pupils shrank slightly. She was very restless, but she couldn't break free from the Governor's arms. However, the Governor's comfort did not have any effect, but made Penny even more irritable.

The Governor was very patient, holding Penny and comforting her softly, almost completely ignoring Carl.

Carl just watched silently and didn't try to escape. The Governor's purpose was already very clear.

only...

Karl was also quite touched. If... maybe he would be like this too...

People can never be truly free. The most difficult chain to break free of is the one that one is most reluctant to break free of, the one called "emotion".

"Carl, come here." The Governor turned his head to look at Carl and gave the order in a tone that could not be refused.

"Okay...Governor." Carl wanted to walk over tremblingly, but he just walked over calmly.

A plan took shape in Carl's mind.

The Governor saw Carl walking to his side obediently and nodded with satisfaction, then he said gently to Penny:

"Penny, this is Carl, the friend your father found for you. I'm sorry to have trapped you here, but Carl will stay with you from now on. I won't let you be so lonely again."

"Uh uh..." was Penny's response.

The Governor smiled indifferently, then turned his head to look at Karl, staring closely into Karl's eyes.Carl looked at Penny with some curiosity, but also with some instinctive fear.

The Governor smiled and then said, "Carl, this is Penny, my daughter. For some reason, she can't go out. She is very lonely. I hope you can make friends with her."

"Friends?" Carl did not show too much fear, but was more curious.

Maybe you should go find Liz and make friends, especially "special" friends. She is good at it and will be very happy. Unfortunately, Liz is not in Woodbury.

"Carl, don't you want to say hello to Penny?" the Governor said with a smile.

"Well, hello, Penny." Carl forced a smile and waved to Penny.

"Uh uh..." Penny became even more irritable.

"Carl, you need to stay here with Penny from now on, are you willing?" asked the Governor.

"Can't you leave?" Carl pouted slightly.

"No, you just need to stay here most of the time. Look, I have prepared a bed for you." The Governor pointed to the side. It was dark, but he could still see clearly.

It did have a single bed, with bedding, and a nightstand and a small lamp.

Can Carl refuse? To be precise, does Carl have the power to refuse?

The Governor continued, "Carl, although Penny's patience is a little bad, she is still very gentle. But you still have to be careful not to get bit by her."

The Governor took a comb from the table nearby, took off Penny's hood, and began to comb her hair.

"Carl, come here and watch. You need to comb Penny's hair every day from now on. She is a girl, so you need to be gentle with her."
