The Walking Dead: reborn as Carl

Chapter 188: Chapter 195 Teaching

it's dark.

Carl closed the window and turned on the small desk lamp.

She said hello to "Penny" and then turned to the kitchen.

I fried the steaks slightly and then started feeding "Penny".

Just as the meal was about to end, there were only a few small pieces of meat left on the plate.

"Boom, boom…"

There was a knock on the door.

Carl knew that there could be no one else except the Governor, and the Governor might have the key, but Carl locked the door out of habit.

Without hesitation, he continued to feed "Penny" but just quickened the pace.

In fact, "Penny" originally liked a faster speed, but Carl felt that girls needed to chew their food slowly, so Carl intentionally slowed down the feeding speed.

"Boom, boom…"

Karl couldn't remember how many times he had knocked on the door, but the knocks were not urgent, and it seemed that the gentleman's temper was as good as ever.

Now that "Penny" has finally been fed, Carl will certainly not leave "his husband" alone and go to open the door.

"Sir, I'm sorry. I was just feeding Penny." Carl apologized as soon as he opened the door.

The Governor leaned against the door and smiled indifferently, nodded and chuckled:

"I've already guessed that your daily routine is always very regular. This is a good habit. Keep it up."

"Yes, sir." Carl smiled shyly and nodded.

The Governor did not enter the room. He just glanced at "Penny" sitting behind the dining table and said to Carl, "I came to see you because I hope you can accompany me to a place?"

"Where are you going?" Carl was slightly startled, "But the kitchen hasn't been cleaned up yet, and Penny's dishes haven't been washed yet."

"You can pack up when you come back later, Carl. Let's go now. No, you need to say goodbye to Penny. Although I don't think it's necessary, unfortunately I can't change you. But try to be quick this time, okay?"

The Governor seemed neither anxious nor anxious. However, at least he did not speak in a hurry.

"All right."

Carl nodded in agreement and quickly returned to the room to say goodbye to "Penny". Although Carl tried his best to speed up, it still took him a few minutes.

After all, Carl's farewell is not just a "farewell". Without Carl's "farewell", "Penny" might not be well behaved at home.

After saying goodbye, Karl left with the Governor. On the way, Karl finally couldn't help but ask;

"Sir, what are we going to do?"

The Governor smiled and rubbed Carl's head, "The man we rescued has woken up, I want you to go with me to see him."

"That gentleman has been in a coma for several days and finally woke up." Carl also smiled, seeming happy for him.

"Yeah." The Governor gave an inexplicable smile.

When Carl and the Governor arrived at the clinic, only Tim and Crowley were there, and Dr. Stevens was not there.

Carl felt a little strange, but didn't think much about it.

Tim and Crowley continued to guard outside, and the Governor took Carl, opened the door of the ward and walked in.

The person on the hospital bed had indeed woken up. He was staring blankly at the incandescent light on the ceiling of the room with his eyes open. He didn't even notice someone coming in.

"Ahem... hello." The Governor coughed lightly as a reminder.

The man on the bed reacted, quickly shifted his gaze from the ceiling to the Governor, and asked with some excitement;

"Did you save me? Where am I now? Where are Franklin and Sean?"

The Governor pressed his hands together, motioning him to calm down, and said with a gentle and friendly smile on his face;

"Hey, friend, don't get excited. You have a lot of questions, which I understand, but take your time. Your injuries haven't fully recovered yet."

"Well, I'm sorry. I'm very grateful that you saved me, but now I really want to know the whereabouts of my companions. I hope you can understand."

"Of course I understand, but I'm sorry. If you're talking about the two people who crashed with you, I'm sorry. Their injuries were more serious. When we found you, they were already dead. I'm sorry."

The Governor's face was full of apology and regret, as if he felt the same way.

Karl almost believed it, but unfortunately Karl knew his true face, at least the real Karl knew it.

And just as the Governor was talking to Wells, Carl had quietly transformed from "Second Carl" into the real Carl.

Carl also remembered the lieutenant named Wells on the bed.

Then, there was a cordial interaction between the Governor and Wells. The Governor spoke to Wells gently, making Wells find a warm feeling like home here.

As the conversation deepened, Wells soon completely trusted the Governor, perhaps because of Carl's presence.

In Wales' opinion, how could someone who could raise a child in such an environment in the end times be a bad person?

Wells also greeted Carl warmly, and Carl also greeted him warmly. He walked to the bed and let Wells touch his hand affectionately.

Then Wells told the Governor everything he wanted to know, including the whereabouts of his remaining teammates and their exact number, so that the Governor could go and pick them up to reunite with him.

The Governor was very satisfied and promised Wells that he would bring them over as soon as possible. He then comforted Wells to have a good rest and took Carl away.

After leaving the clinic, the Governor took Carl for a walk on the street. It was already dark and there were not many people on the streets of Woodbury.

Carl followed the Governor silently and never spoke a word.

Until the Governor suddenly asked, "Karl, do you know why I asked you to be with me? To let you listen to my conversation with him?"

"I don't know, sir, do you have any deeper meaning?" Carl looked at the Governor curiously. The Governor smiled and rubbed Carl's head, "Carl, what do you think of the world now?"

Karl was slightly stunned, and then asked in confusion, "Sir, why is the span of your question so wide? Why don't you explain to me why you asked me to come?"

The Governor shook his head and smiled, looking at Karl with a smile in his eyes, rubbing Karl's head and saying, "I will explain it to you, but this question is closely related to the previous one."

"Is that so? But I don't know what the world is like now, sir, do you know?"

"Of course, why else would I ask you this question?"

"But if you ask a question, shouldn't you only ask if you don't know?"

"Damn it, Karl, don't change the subject. I'm testing you, right? But since you don't know, I can tell you."

The governor stopped, put his hands on Carl's shoulders, and looked at Carl seriously.

The Governor ignored Carl, who was somewhat at a loss, and said seriously:

"Karl, this is no longer the world you are familiar with. Perhaps you have never been familiar with the real world, whether in the past or now, but in fact there is not much difference.

But now, there are fewer things that can restrain human bestiality. The world is now more real, more naked, and more cruel.

Carl, you know, I hope you can live well and protect Penny forever, but if you want to do this.

Then you must adapt to this world, the real world, and don't wait for the world to teach you.

I will teach you the true rules of survival in this world!"
