Chapter 8: Chapter 8: A Stroll into the Forest Pt.2
Upon waking up, I carefully tidied up the tent and tucked both the tent and other items into my pouch. After putting the stuff away, I took some onigiri, fruits and water and ate them for breakfast. During the whole night till now, I have been practicing [Mana Sense] by sensing the flow of mana in me as well as all the things surrounding me and as I did that, I keep an eye out on my surroundings, and I had finally acquired [Mana Sense].
[Mana Sense] still had advancements in its {Path of Advancement}, and as the advancement of the skill goes higher, the more things I could do with [Mana Sense] aside from just sensing mana. Though that is all that I am capable off right now.
I continued to delve deeper into the forest while practicing [Mana Sense] and from time to time, I would notice goblins, triple horned rabbits, and other creatures before they could notice me. As I took notice of them, I would quickly take notes and sometimes I would hide and drew their appearances on the book...
As I repeated this behavior many times a day, every day, the skill [Scholar] finally had leveled up and was now level 3. That wasn't the only skill to have leveled up as the days went by or the only thing I had gained as I keep silently observing the creatures and goblins from a distance. One of the skills that I had gained was [Presence Sense] and another being [Stealth], which were all at level 1.
I was wondering as to why the creatures and goblins were getting slower at noticing me, and it was thanks to these two skills that they had a hard time noticing me. It was a great relief to obtain such skills, as I needed it. The goblins weren't a lot, but they tended to appear as groups and while most creatures were friendly to me, there were some that would ultimately attack me regardless.
It was thanks to this that I was now at level 17 with a mana of 367, and now I had a lot of those small blue light crystals in my pouch, as well as the level of my magical skills leveled up quite a bit, thanks to the constant battles with the creatures and goblins.
However, since the numerous battles with the goblins and creatures of the forest, I remembered that I was mainly a magic user. Someone who was supposed to be at the rear and would be accompanied by a vanguard, just like in video games. It didn't seem that urgent, as I was capable of defeating the goblins and other creatures by myself, but I didn't want to take risk of making such a mistake this deep into the forest.
But the question was where I could find a vanguard this deep into the forest. While the creatures helped me here and there, I couldn't rely on them entire. I wanted someone to always be beside me, and just as I was thinking this, a sudden thought entered my mind, a thought that solved my current dilemma of where to find a vanguard.
"Couldn't I just create one with [Creation Magic]? While I can't create life with [Creation Magic], I can however create golems with [Golem Magic], and all I need is the skill itself and a few materials to make the golem."
Thinking about the possibilities, I continued to delve deeper into the forest, looking for another possible location to set up camp, but this time with something a lot more hidden compared to last time, as I planned to use most of my mana to create a core for the golem.
After looking for a while, I found a small cave hidden by bushes and a few big trees, I decided to set up my tent here and have my dinner here, as I prepare to make the golems and all the other details needed to make a golem. Walking for a few hours now, I was tired and the location was just perfect for everything that I needed to do.
Without wasting any moment at all, I carefully set up the tent inside the tent and gathered a few rocks and woods to create a smokeless campfire again.
