Chapter 11: CHAPTER-11:- BURIED TRUTHS
The Sun peaked through the window, casting long shadows across the living room. The air was crisp, but the scene inside was far from peaceful. Every trace of chaos had been wiped away. No blood, No bodies. Artur and Fabio had burned the corpses far away, leaving no evidence behind. The only sign of the battle was the broken furniture scattered across the room.
Mr. Reis sat on the edge of only stable chair, his eyes scanning the room. Fabio stood before him, his fists clenched, his face unreadable. Artur leaned against the wall.
"You're going to tell me what happened here from the start exactly. " Mr. Reis said firmly looking at Fabio.
Fabio's voice was low but steady as he began.
" It was the time when i was going to sleep. The doorbell rang, i thought it was you, Father.
I was surprised as i opened the door, it was Ness. At that moment, i thought Artur lied to me about Ness's death. But as soon as i saw Andrew behind him, i felt happy and shocked at the same time. It was at this moment, they surrounded me and rushed to me. It was like, the only thing they want is my life. I have no option but to beat them.
But No matter how much i beat them, they still stood up. So, i thought killing them was the only way. I have pierced their bodies with the broken chair leg, but nothing seemed to get better. It took me 2 hours to find out the truth about them."
Artur cut Fabio's words by shouting,
"A clue? What clue? "
Fabio's voice low,
"I have separated one of the body's spinal cord so that it's connection to the brain was cut. At the very moment, the body fell down , and I've done that to every body and killed them."
The room fell silent.
Fabio stood in front of his father, his eyes resolute, his voice steady.
"Father," he began, leaning forward, "you've always taught me that turning away from evil gives it strength. I can't ignore what's happening, and neither can you."
Mr. Reis stood with his arms crossed, His face betrayed no emotion, but his silence spoke volumes. Fabio pressed on.
"This isn't just about me," he continued. "They're coming for us, for anyone who gets in their way. We've seen what they can do, how they manipulate people's bodies and minds. If we don't act, more lives will be destroyed."
Mr. Reis inhaled deeply, his brow furrowed. "You're telling me that you will step into a war you don't fully understand? These aren't ordinary criminals, Fabio."
"That's exactly why we have to fight," Fabio said, his voice growing more impassioned. "You've faced the worst humanity has to offer. You know how they think, how they work."
For a long moment, Mr. Reis remained silent, his gaze locked on his son. Finally, he nodded, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Alright," he said with a sigh. " But understand, once we start this, there's no turning back. No second chances."
Relief flickered across Fabio's face, but the tension in the room remained thick. Artur, Leaned to the wall, shifted uncomfortably before clearing his throat.
"There's more," Artur began cautiously. Both Fabio and Mr. Reis turned their attention to him, their expressions questioning.
"Last night, I had another dream," Artur continued, his voice low but steady. "In it, I was told that Asahi Rei will die soon. Within 3 days. "
The name hit Mr. Reis like a jolt. He straightened, his expression hardening. "Asahi?" he repeated, his voice sharp and filled with something between anger and fear.
Fabio frowned, looking between Artur and his father. "You know him?"
Mr. Reis nodded, his jaw tightening. "Not just know him. Asahi Rei is one of the most dangerous criminals I've ever encountered. I have been known him for years, he have been locked away in Spain's most secure prison ever since."
Artur's eyes widened slightly. "Then how is he connected to all of this?"
"I don't know," Mr. Reis admitted, his voice tense. "But if he's involved, this is worse than we thought. That man has a way of escaping justice, no matter how tightly he's locked away."
The room fell into silence, the weight of his words pressing down on them like an invisible force.
