The Wealthy Noble’s Poor Commoner

Chapter 6: Albert’s Attraction

Everyone had finally completed their exams. Mr Henry had already collected everyone's papers, and so now everyone was discussing about how they thought they did. Although for the nobles who had paid to get in It was most likely that they must've had easier questions, and that's why some in the middle of the exam started to smile. It was a look that said "father really pulled through for me."

'Must be nice to be so rich.' Thomas sighed, then Albert nudged him. "So Thomas, how do you think you did?"

"It was a little challenging but I'm sure I passed, although it must've been easier for some of the nobles who paid to attend the school...I'm sure their money came in handy, and It's likely that all of us passed." Thomas thought for a moment "what do you think about the other nobles who left earlier?"'

Albert looked at him then remembered "oh them? Nothing probably they'll probably waltz back on in here, some of them did pay a hefty price to attend this school. They wouldn't just let their money go to waste due to some test they didn't know about."

Albert shrugged then looked over to Ms Aurelia.

"You like her don't you?" Thomas said with a small smile on his face. "I've seen you starring at her for quite a while, you're a noble as-well why don't you go talk to her?"

Albert hummed. "I doubt she'll even bat an eye at me, me and Ms Aurelia went to the same school before we came here. I really liked her back in our old school aswell, but I guess she has to focus on her studies and title rather than talk with someone like me, weather I'm noble or not…"

Thomas looked at him with slight pity. Albert, despite just meeting him, he seemed like a nice person who could get along well with both commoners, and nobles.

Thomas smiled. 'He must really like Ms Aurelia to still have eyes for her from then to now.' He had good looks. Dark brown hair, green eyes, and a nice build, who wouldn't want a man like that? But maybe, Ms Aurelia just wasn't interested.

"Excuse me sir did all of the other first years take this test?" A student in the back with his hands raised asks. Mr Henry nods confirming

"They'll be evaluating how smart you are and people who tend to do well sometimes get bumped up a grade."

"You're saying that we could be in one of classes 14-B 1-8?" The student ask with a surprised expression.

"Yes, yes you'll be with the second years of you were to do well on the supplementary exam."

'Is that even fair for the second years?' Thomas wondered, but there was a possibility that it was. People who are intelligent get more attention from the higher ups, and so they get more rewards in turn.

"Take Lionel for example. He took his supplementary exam before he came to the school and scored a perfect 100/100." Everyone was astonished to hear this but this wasn't new news, Lionel was intelligent and he would never let others surpass him. He had the pride of a male lion, and wouldn't let his title be taken by some random stray.

Although he was truly intelligent. If one were to face him in a competition the odds of him winning were at 100%, who would be a fool to do that either way. Thomas, looked outside then the bell rang.

Mr Henry snapped his fingers twice "Okay class everyone's scores will be evaluated and shown on the billboard tomorrow, class dismissed."

Everyone immediately got up, and began to pack up to leave. Thomas stood deep in thought before starting to pack up his stuff. 'I really hope I did well, I guess I'll just have to wait for tomorrow and see.'

Thomas then gathered the rest of his items and walked out of the class.
