Chapter 5: Khan..
"Khan I warned you a lot of times, stay away from the border, but No! You wouldn't listen. Now they think we're their enemies that we attacked one of them." Khan's Father said.
"I was only trying to help the injured wolf Father, it was nothing more than that, another stray wolf came out of nowhere and we attacked each other that was all. It wasn't I who injured the wolf. I didn't get to see the animal." Khan explained.
"But, I hope at least, they didn't see your human form." The King asked.
"No Father, I was careful."
"I got a report that they've placed warriors at the border, I'd advise to you cease going there for now." The King added again.
"Ok Father" Khan answered as he took a bow and left.
Khan's Chambers...
Khan paced round his room in a to and fro movement. He hadn't even attacked anyone, but news had already gotten to his parents that are werewolf attacked another wolf in the kingdom border. His parents had quickly known that he was the one. He still didn't get why there was a rule about not crossing the boders, was it so wrong to relate with the neighbours? he pondered.
He brushed it off, he didn't think he needed to worry about it so much. He peeled off his clothes one after the other. Hoping to drench himself in a hot bath. Only for him to notice a little cratch on his chest region. It didn't bother him tho. It was but a little scratch. It had indeed been hours since he engaged in a combat with that wolf. Why was his wound still that fresh?
Oregania..
Tahira's life didn't get easy after the showdown with the Wolf. Her training got intense. And each day of the training she kept feeling that someone was watching her. If she looked around she wouldn't see anyone. As days went by she couldn't stop that feeling. She took it upon herself to tread carefully.
One evening after a very intense training she rested her back on one of the stones almost drifting to sleep when she felt a grip on her, She sprung up to see her attacker immediately. Only for her to see a scawny looking old woman with a rod in her palm.
"Only you can save hiimm" She said before disappearing into the thin air.
She lifted herself in a full force. Was that just a dream? It looked so real. She lifted her wrist to see that it had turned pink with finger prints.
Should I tell Papa? She thought.
No Papa would take it too serious. She also thought of telling her teacher but she knew the instant she opened her mouth, the news would immediately get to her Father. She had seen them secretly meeting with each other a couple of times in the Palace. What they were talking about? She couldn't tell...
Speaking of which....
In the King's Palace
The King seemed to be in serious meeting with a few higher ups including Tahira's teacher. Kalispel's father could be spotted there too.
"Are they planning on bringing him to the palace?" One of the men asked.
"They can't just enter this wolf pack without the entire kingdom knowing about it. If that happens they'd begin to notice that something was wrong." Another said.
"My King, how come they are so sure that it was the Princess that clawed at him?" One asked.
"They said it was seen by their priestess." The King answered.
After much deliberation, they concluded on escorting them into the palace at night.
The other Kingdom...
Khan's mother was seated on his bed as he lay on the bed with serious fever. The wound on his chest was spreading as if it was infected or maybe it was. No medicine seemed to work. Not even the charm from the great Priestess. Khan had never experienced that before. He always healed fast whenever he was wounded both in the wolf form and in the human form. Now a scratch from just one girl as they had said, is causing this much ruckus in his life. Some of the she wolves who had always had a crush on Khan got wind of his illness. They were sending in gifts of all kinds with their names on it. None knew the cause of the illness. They just heard that the most gorgeous Alpha werewolf that they had all been dreaming to mate with had taken ill. This was the perfect opportunity to play their cards well on wining his heart. Most of them already found their mate but they also wanted power and Kahn Gisburg could give it to them.
Kahn was getting weaker by day. His Father had already sought the verdict of the Priestess and had taken it upon themselves to communicate with the King of Oregania. This was not the part he thought was tight but his sons life was in danger. He was left with no choice but to laise with the other Kingdom.
In the Castle...
Tahira's Chambers.
She lay on the bed still thinking of the woman that held her earlier when she heard a knock on her bedroom door. Her mother entered almost immediately and went towards her.
"Mother, what are you doing here? Is everything alright?" She asked because her own mother rarely entered her room except when she was ill or injured.
"Sweetheart which Werewolf did you fight?" She asked almost immediately.
"I didn't fight any werewolves mother, remember I train alone, I don't use anyone as a punch bag on the course of my training."
"No No that's not what I meant" She said as she sat on the bed and grabbed her daughter's hands.
"The day you went for hunting, did you fight any Werewolf?"
Her mother asked again.
"No Mother, I was attacked and I had to defend myself. It's anything wrong mother?" Tahira asked feeling that something wasn't right.
"Tell me mother, What is the problem, did I kill someone?" She asked looking terrified.
"No no Sweetheart, it's just that your life is about to take a very swift turn and I don't think you're ready for it."
"What do you mean by that mother?" Tahira asked, not seeming to understand, but her mother didn't answer, she just planted a kiss on her forehead and left the room. Queen Sabrina was agonized that she was forbidden to tell Tahira about a prophecy that had been made when she was much younger. She sincerely wished her daughter would have a happy life.
Tahira was dumbstruck. Her mother's reaction seemed quite strange to her, she was surprised because he mother kept on rambling about what she couldn't tell. This particularly bothered her. She simply defended herself and another wolf from her pack, why was everyone acting like she was about to take her last breath? it bothered her!
