The Witcher: Lord of the Empire

Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Captive

Jad is really experienced. When he dodged to the side, he already expected there to be a follow-up attack. In the process of dodging, he added another Aard Sign behind him, blocking the two oncoming enemies. The arrow was deflected.

He also managed to move even further with the help of the reaction force.

At this moment, he already intended to retreat. Originally, he was provoked by that kid's method of throwing the crystal into the bonfire, but now he sees that it is a trap. Now that the opponent's troops have turned around, there is no chance to fight the army head-on.

Jad looked around and realized that an encirclement-like formation had slowly surrounded him in the center, with dozens of bows and arrows aimed at him, making escape almost impossible.

The only direction that is slightly weaker seems to be the direction of the noble brat behind him.

By the way, what if we can capture the other party?

Jad looked back, only to find that Lann had regained consciousness at some point and had already taken two full-body shields from his feet and placed them tightly in front of him.

"I am a nobleman with an army."

Out of etiquette, he did not forget to say one more sentence.

"Fire the arrows!"

The drawn bowstrings made a harsh sound like strings in the hands of a poor luthier, and the sound of the arrow cutting through the air was surprisingly pleasant to the ear.

Jad tried his best to move around, but the light armor on his body couldn't protect him from the arrows at close range.

[Thwack! Thunk! Thwack! Thunk!]

In less than a breath, multiple arrows hit Jad's body.

Feeling the growing pain in his body and feeling his energy dissipating little by little, Jad gritted his teeth and stared at the two shields in front of him.

'Why, why was I treated as a commodity by fate and given to a madman witcher? But this kid was born noble, and having such an army is like child's play.'

'Why should I meet such a guy just before I can change my destiny?'

Anger squeezed out the last bit of Jad's strength. He tremblingly took out the potion belt strap around his waist and found a spherical container made of ceramic materials in his hand.

Lann, who was hiding behind the shield, was waiting for the rain of arrows to pass when he suddenly saw a spherical container burning with sparks flying behind the shield.

It rolled twice on the ground. It was a spherical container, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. It seemed to have a special design of layering. The wick coming out of the spherical container was about to run out. This appearance was quite familiar to Lann.

[Grapeshot Bomb]

"Damn it!"

After throwing the bomb, Jad fell to the ground after exhausting his strength. The blood in his body stretched into the soil beneath him like nothing. He tremblingly took out a bottle of magic potion and tried to pour it into his mouth, but it didn't work. He didn't have the strength to open it.

After twice trying to uncap the bottle with one hand and failing, Jad looked in the direction of the bomb. He saw the aristocratic boy rolling out from behind the shield in a panic, followed by loud noises, flames, impact and debris.

"Your Majesty the Earl!"

All the soldiers screamed in panic, and the eyes of the three attendants turned red.

Jad could see so much more from such a close distance. He saw scattered metal fragments shooting out in mid-air, and the ones that flew the farthest even hit him, causing pain to his bones.

But these shrapnel hit the opponent's armor and instantly turned into pieces like wood chips.

The flame is more like a lover's hand, which disappears after just touching the other person's body.

The shock wave generated by the explosion was like a breeze, and it was not even possible to lift the opponent's body for a moment, it just shook the rolling body.

'Why are bombs so weak? Obviously the two shields covered with iron sheets have turned into sieves...'

'What is the material of the armor that boy is wearing?'

Squire Swade strode forward, drew his sword and stabbed Jad who fell to the ground, vowing to kill the man who hurt his earl.

"I want him alive!" But Lann shouted immediately after hearing the voices of the attendants. He knew that there would definitely be extremely angry soldiers who would kill the witcher to vent their anger, and then his work would be in vain.

Hearing Lann's roar, Swade felt relieved, but his strength remained unabated. He turned the tip of his sword and drove two swords into the opponent's knees, and vented his anger by stomping on the opponent's arm that was fumbling for the potion.

A series of slashes caused the witcher to scream.

Attendant Ace strode forward, knelt down and put Lann's head on his lap. He called on several vice-captains to pull off Lan's helmet, and then hurriedly picked up Lann's armor.

Lann felt his whole body relax, and fresh air finally came in again. The dizzy feeling was still there, but now he only felt lingering fear.

Not to mention the pain of displaced internal organs, the smell of blood in his mouth made him gag. After all, he had eaten a fantasy version of a grenade head-on. He was lucky to be alive with all his beard and tail intact.

Lann made a rolling action at the end. Fortunately, the skills produced by the system are really powerful. Really, as long as you make a rolling action, no matter what degree of damage is done to your body, it can be reduced by 80%.

Luckily, Lann responded quickly. Thinking carefully now, even if there is only 20% power left, he feels that if he takes all the damage at that time, he will probably ascend to heaven on the spot, and he won't need to wait for Cintra to be destroyed.

It was careless. After all, I still underestimated the witcher.

It took Lann a while before he was finally able to straighten up. He refused the help of the people around him and walked slowly to the side of the witcher. The opponent who had been so majestic just now was now covered in blood, his body was covered with arrows, shrapnel, and his legs were missing.

With the medical technology of this era, there is no possibility of curing an injury like a severed leg, even with the use of magic.

The witcher in front of him is no longer a threat.

Lann slowly stepped forward and opened the potion that Jad held in his hand at the last moment, and slowly poured half of it into the opponent's mouth to prevent the opponent from dying suddenly due to excessive injuries.

While pouring the medicine, Lann said softly:

"I respect the group of witchers very much. I even dare to say that I am one of the people who most respects and understands witchers in the world, but you are different from those witchers. The leader of the bandits group."

He stared into those amber pupils and said word by word: "So I will not give you the treatment I imagined as a witcher, and what happens to you next is what you often give to others."

"I still have a lot of things I want to know, so please be more honest and don't waste our time, Mr. Cat."
