The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?!

Chapter 21: What are you yelling so loudly for in Chapter 21?

"Mr. Tree, I've brought you another delivery."

Approaching the Black Soil, Liu Zheng said with a grin.

"How many times have I told you, don't call me Mr. Tree, it sounds terrible."

The French Plane Tree complained.

"So, Boss Dai?"

He tried a different name.

"My name is Dai Legao, not last name Dai and first name Legao!"

The French Plane Tree said frantically.

"Alright, alright, what's your last name then?"

Liu Zheng asked good-naturedly.

"What does my last name have to do with you? Just speak if you have business."

The French Plane Tree responded, annoyed and embarrassed.

This guy, could he really not know his own surname?

He began to suspect.

Of course, he wasn't going to blatantly point it out.

"I brought you a bottle of this, see if you like it."

Liu Zheng took out an essence extract from the Red-eyed Snake Mackerel.

"Oh, it's actually this thing."

Dai Legao perked up.

"You recognize it?"

"Enema, who doesn't know it? But I heard that Red-eyed Snake Mackerel was out of stock, where did you get this?"

Dai Legao asked.

"Brought it from the employee meal."

He replied.

"Tsk tsk tsk, the restaurant really spares no expense."

Dai Legao said enviously.

"You, a wealthy landowner, still short of this stuff?"

Liu Zheng said half-complimenting.

"Even the landlord's house runs out of grain. Besides, whatever I can get depends on luck, not as free as a restaurant, which can order whatever they want."

"Not to mention, if I could buy beverages myself, then I wouldn't even deal with these loss-making transactions with you."

Dai Legao commented wistfully.

These few transactions, he basically took a small loss, especially when trading for the Legendary delivery man's vest; he lost big time.

If there had been a better option, he wouldn't have done such a stupid thing.

"Is it really that bad? Then, I'll give you this bottle of enema."

Liu Zheng offered generously.

"Don't play smart; I'm not falling for your tricks. You humans are very cunning, always seeking ten times the return for a small investment."

Dai Legao snorted.

"Impressive, with the genius from the French nobility trees, you see right through my little tricks."

He clapped vigorously.

"Hmm, you have some discernment. I ate a flock of Black Death Birds yesterday, really need to clear out the poison. So, what do you want to trade for?"

Dai Legao asked.

"I had some conflict with security in Green Garden Mad City; do you have anything that can deal with them?"

Liu Zheng inquired.

He had managed to bluff that guy last time, but this time it might not work.

"You have a vest, what are you afraid of? Can't you just run away if you can't beat them?"

Dai Legao said curiously.

"The vest is ineffective once the delivery is done."

He explained.

"Oh, there's that."

The French Plane Tree said, enlightened.

He had always kept the vest buried at the deepest part of his roots, never taking it out to appreciate, so he had kind of forgotten about it.

"I do have something, but this bottle of enema isn't quite enough."

The French Plane Tree said, glancing around.

"Didn't you say Red-eyed Snake Mackerel was out of stock? Other enemas probably don't work as well as this one, right?"

Liu Zheng slightly raised his eyebrows.

"Purée! Why does a human have such a good memory?"

Dai Legao said displeased.

Marking up the price is quite subjective, so stating that the enema wasn't of sufficient value earlier wasn't exactly a lie.

But with Liu Zheng catching the loophole in his words, Dai Legao couldn't just blatantly deny it.

He dug around in the soil with his roots and finally pulled out a pair of board shoes.

"Name: Fashion Skate Shoes (Disposable)"

"Type: Item"

"Quality: Excellent"

"Effect: Instantly slides one hundred meters away upon use."

"Remark: My skate shoes, fashionable, the most fashionable."

"Can it be taken out of the instance: Yes"

Two hundred meters should be enough to escape the range of security's attack.

Liu Zheng nodded satisfactorily and put on the skate shoes.

Truth be told, hooves wearing shoes felt quite awkward.

He thought of those cats and dogs forced into shoes by their owners and deeply empathized.

"I'm off."

Liu Zheng waved his tentacles.

"Roll, roll, roll."

The French Plane Tree said impatiently and then closed its eyes.

"How about I keep you company and chat a bit more?"

He couldn't resist teasing it.

"What's there to talk about with a human like you?"

The French Plane Tree squinted and spoke.

"Well, no other tree is chatting with you either. I mean, a single tree standing here every day, that must be lonely, right?"

Liu Zheng said and actually felt a bit of sympathy for it.

"Heh, guess why the other trees are all dummies?"

"Why?"

"Because I've absorbed all their nutrients."

The French Plane Tree scoffed coldly.

"Dominant, I'm out."

Liu Zheng gave a thumbs up, and then stared at it intensely.

"What are you doing?"

The French Plane Tree was baffled.

"Nothing, I just want to see what a tree would poop out after drinking liquid paraffin."

He said with great interest.

"Zut! If you don't leave now, what comes out will be you!"

The French Plane Tree went furious.

"You should drink more, look, even your temper is getting stinky."

Before Dai Legao could blow his top, Liu Zheng took off.

He walked awkwardly all the way to Green Garden Mad City, where the duty security guard was still the Half-white-haired one.

He wasn't in the booth at the moment, instead, he was smoking and strolling by the entrance.

Seeing Liu Zheng from a distance, his face turned dark and he quickly retreated to his booth.

Liu Zheng didn't like this, walked over, and banged hard on the window.

The security guard glanced at him askance, ignoring him.

"Hey!"

Liu Zheng swung his tentacle and started a fierce whipping.

You have to say, the glass quality was really good, not a single crack after all that whipping.

"Are you sick or something?"

The security guard finally couldn't stand it and yelled.

"Why are you yelling so loud?"

Liu Zheng yelled back even louder.

"What I do is none of your business, just go deliver your crappy delivery."

The security guard was choked up and said speechlessly.

"Delivery can wait, hand over a cigarette."

"Dream on."

The security guard instantly refused.

"Stingy bugger, next time I'll return a pack to you."

Liu Zheng bluffed.

"Believe you, that'd be the day. Go away."

The security guard said impatiently.

"Really not giving one?"

"Not giving."

"Alright then."

Liu Zheng shrugged and then swung his tentacle again.

This time, his rhythm was even more violent than before.

After ten minutes of drumming, the security guard couldn't take it anymore and lit up three cigarettes and handed them out backwards.

"One for free with two, that good?"

Liu Zheng smiled.

"Enjoy your smoke, it'll make the road ahead easier."

The security guard said with a smirk.

"Generous."

He bit the cigarette, patted the security guard's shoulder, and then headed into the neighborhood.

The security guard kept his eyes on his figure, his gaze filled with both anger and surprise.

"Right, might as well make use of the vest while it's effective, go check out 606."

Once inside the neighborhood, Liu Zheng suddenly had an idea.

The woman's writing was decent, but her angles and hooks were weak. If she just followed his advice, signing a contract shouldn't be a problem.

Even though she didn't seem very wealthy, any little bit counts.

Thinking this, Liu Zheng's hooves subconsciously turned towards Block 3A.

By the time he reached door 606, the security door had been replaced with a new one.

He didn't really understand the residents of this bizarre world; a door that he could take apart with his bare hands, who was it protecting against?

Probably just for show.

Liu Zheng shook his head and pressed the doorbell.

"Who is it?"

It was still that indistinguishable voice.

"Me, the delivery guy from yesterday."

He replied.

"Ah, come on in."

After a flurry of hurried footsteps, the door opened.

The young girl was only wrapped in a bath towel, her wet hair hanging over her barely covered hills.

"Really, no need to rush."

Liu Zheng said, staring intently.
